26:1  Ta.Sin.Mim.
26:2  Those are the signs of the clear Book;
26:3  Perhaps you would kill yourself that they will not be believers.
26:4  If We will We send down upon them from the heaven a sign, so their necks remain bowed before it.
26:5  And there comes not to them any new reminder from the Merciful that they do not turn away from.
26:6  So verily, they have denied. Then there shall come to them news of that at which they mocked.
26:7  Have they not looked to the earth, how many we caused to grow therein of every noble kind?
26:8  Indeed, in that surely is a sign; but most of them are not believers.
26:9  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:10  And when your Lord called Moses, 'Go to the unjust people,
26:11  To the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear?'
26:12  He said, 'My Lord! Indeed, I fear that they will call me liar;
26:13  And my breast is straitened, and my tongue is not fluent; so send for Aaron,
26:14  And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they may kill me.'
26:15  He said, 'Not so, but go, both of you, with Our signs, Indeed, We are with you listening.
26:16  So go both of you to Pharaoh and say, "Indeed, we bear a message of the Lord of the worlds,
26:17  Send with us the children of Israel."'
26:18  He said, 'Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you tarried among us for years of your life;
26:19  And you did your deed which you did, and you are of the ungrateful.'
26:20  He said, 'I did it, behold, and I was of those who err.
26:21  So I fled from you when I feared you, but my Lord granted me judgment, and made me one of the messengers;
26:22  And that is a favour which you reproach me with, that you have enslaved the children of Israel.'
26:23  Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of the worlds?'
26:24  He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between both of them, if you were sure.'
26:25  He said to those around him, 'Do you not hear?'
26:26  He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers.'
26:27  He said, 'Indeed, your messenger who is sent to you is surely mad.'
26:28  He said, 'Lord of the east and the west, and what is between both of them, if you are intelligent.'
26:29  He said, 'If you take a god besides me I will surely make you one of the imprisoned.'
26:30  He said, 'If I come to you with something clear?'
26:31  He said, 'Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.'
26:32  So he threw down his rod, and behold, it was a clear serpent.
26:33  And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to the beholders.
26:34  He said to the chiefs around him, 'Indeed, this is surely a knowing magician
26:35  He desires to drive you out from your land by his magic, so what do you advise?'
26:36  They said, 'Put him off and his brother, and send into the cities gatherers.
26:37  They will bring to you every knowing magician.'
26:38  So the magicians were assembled at an appointed place on a known day,
26:39  And it was said to the people, 'Are you assembled?'
26:40  Perhaps we may follow the magicians if they gain the upperhand.
26:41  So when the magicians came they said to Pharaoh, 'Shall we, indeed, have a reward if we gain the upper hand?'
26:42  He said, 'Yes; and, indeed, you shall then be of those who are brought near.'
26:43  Moses said to them, 'Throw down what you have to throw down.'
26:44  So they threw down their ropes and their rods and said, 'By Pharaoh's might, indeed, surely it is we who shall gain the upper hand.'
26:45  Then Moses threw down his rod, and behold, it swallowed what they falsified.
26:46  Then the magicians were thrown down prostrating.
26:47  They said, 'We believe in the Lord of the worlds,
26:48  The Lord of Moses and Aaron.'
26:49  He said, 'You believe in him before I give you permission. Indeed, he is your chief who has taught you magic, So surely soon you shall know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet from opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all together.'
26:50  They said, 'No harm; indeed, we to our Lord return.
26:51  Indeed, we hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, that we are the first of the believers.'
26:52  And We inspired Moses, 'Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be followed.'
26:53  Then Pharaoh sent into the cities gatherers,
26:54  'Indeed these are surely a small company,
26:55  And indeed, they are surely enraging us;
26:56  And indeed, we are surely altogether cautious.'
26:57  So We expelled them from gardens and springs,
26:58  And treasures and a noble station;
26:59  Thus. And We made the children of Israel to inherit them.
26:60  So they followed them at sunrise.
26:61  Then when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Moses said, 'Indeed, we are surely overtaken.'
26:62  He said, 'Not so; indeed, with me is my Lord, soon He will guide me.'
26:63  Then We inspired Moses, 'Strike with your rod the sea.' And it parted, and each part was like the great mountain.
26:64  And We brought near there, the others.
26:65  And we saved Moses and those with him all together;
26:66  Then We drowned the others.
26:67  Indeed, in that surely is a sign but most of them are not believers.
26:68  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:69  And recite to them the story of Abraham;
26:70  When he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?'
26:71  They said, 'We serve idols, so we will remain devoted to them.'
26:72  He said, 'Can they hear you when you call,
26:73  Or profit you or harm?'
26:74  They said, 'No; but we found our fathers doing thus.'
26:75  He said, 'Have you considered what you have been serving,
26:76  You and your fathers before you?
26:77  Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
26:78  The one who created me and He guides me.
26:79  And the one who, He gives me food and gives me drink.
26:80  And when I am sick then He heals me;
26:81  And the one who will cause me to die, then He will give me life;
26:82  And the one who I hope will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgment.
26:83  My Lord! Grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous;
26:84  And grant me a tongue of truth among later generations;
26:85  And make me among the inheritors of the Garden of pleasure;
26:86  And forgive my father, indeed, he was of those who err;
26:87  And do not disgrace me on the day they are raised up,
26:88  The day wealth shall not profit, nor sons,
26:89  Except he who comes to God with a sound heart.'
26:90  And the Garden shall be brought near to those who fear;
26:91  And the Hellfire is made manifest to those who err,
26:92  And it shall be said to them, 'Where is what you used to worship
26:93  Besides God? Can they help you or help themselves?'
26:94  Then they shall fall headlong into it, they and the erring,
26:95  And the hosts of Iblis all together.
26:96  They shall say, while they quarrel therein,
26:97  'By God, we were surely in clear error,
26:98  When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds.
26:99  It was no one but the sinners that led us astray;
26:100  So now we have no intercessors,
26:101  And no warm friend.
26:102  And if that there is a return for us, then we would be of the believers.'
26:103  Indeed, in that surely is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
26:104  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:105  The people of Noah said the messengers were liars,
26:106  When their brother Noah said to them, 'Will you not fear?
26:107  Indeed, I am a faithful messenger to you;
26:108  Then fear God and obey me.
26:109  I do not ask you for it any payment; my payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:110  So fear God and obey me.'
26:111  They said, 'Shall we believe in you, when the reprobates follow you?'
26:112  He said, 'And what do I know of what they used to do?
26:113  Indeed, their account is only upon my Lord, if you perceive.
26:114  And I am not one to drive away the believers,
26:115  I am not except a clear warner.
26:116  They said, 'Verily, if you do not desist, O Noah! You shall surely be of those who are stoned.'
26:117  He said, 'My Lord! Indeed my people call me liar;
26:118  So judge between me and between them, a judging, and save me and those of the believers who are with me.'
26:119  So we saved him and those with him in the laden ship,
26:120  Then we drowned thereafter the remaining;
26:121  Indeed, in that surely is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
26:122  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:123  'Ad called the messengers liars;
26:124  When their brother Hud said to them, 'Will you not fear?
26:125  Indeed, I am to you a faithful messenger;
26:126  So fear God and obey me.
26:127  I do not ask you for it any payment; my payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:128  Do you build on every height a landmark in sport,
26:129  And take to works that perhaps you may be immortal?
26:130  And when you assault you assault like tyrants;
26:131  So fear God and obey me.
26:132  And fear the one who has aided you with what you know,
26:133  He has aided you with cattle and children,
26:134  And gardens and springs.
26:135  Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great day.'
26:136  They said, 'Equal on us whether you admonish or are not of those who admonish;
26:137  This is not except the custom of the former people,
26:138  And we shall not be punished.
26:139  So they called him liar, then We destroyed them. Indeed, in that surely is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
26:140  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:141  Thamud called the messengers liars;
26:142  When their brother Salih said to them, 'Will you not fear?
26:143  Indeed, I am to you a faithful messenger;
26:144  So fear God and obey me.
26:145  I do not ask you for it any payment; my payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:146  Shall you be left secure in what is here,
26:147  In gardens and springs
26:148  And corn-fields and palms with slender spathes?
26:149  And you carve out of the mountains houses skilfully.
26:150  So fear God and obey me;
26:151  And do not obey the command of the extravagant,
26:152  Who do evil in the earth and do not act aright.'
26:153  They said, 'You are only of those who are bewitched;
26:154  You are not except a mortal like us; so bring us a sign, if you are of the truthful.'
26:155  He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a known day,
26:156  And do not touch her with harm, or there will seize you the punishment of a great day.'
26:157  Then they hamstrung her, then they became repentant;
26:158  So the punishment seized them. Indeed, in that surely is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
26:159  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:160  The people of Lot called the messengers liars;
26:161  When their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not fear?
26:162  Indeed, I am to you a faithful messenger;
26:163  Then fear God and obey me.
26:164  I do not ask you for it any payment; my payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:165  Do you approach the males among the worlds
26:166  And you leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are people transgressing.'
26:167  They said, 'Surely, if you do not desist, O Lot! Surely, you will definitely be of those who are driven out.'
26:168  He said, 'Indeed, I am of those who hate your deed;
26:169  My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.'
26:170  So We saved him and his family all together,
26:171  Except an old woman among those who lingered.
26:172  Then We destroyed the others;
26:173  And We rained down upon them a rain; and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
26:174  Indeed, in that surely is a sign, but most of them are not believers.
26:175  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:176  The fellows of the Grove called the messengers liars;
26:177  When Shuayb said to them, 'Will you not fear?
26:178  Indeed, I am to you a faithful messenger,
26:179  So fear God and obey me.
26:180  I do not ask you for it any payment; my payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
26:181  Give full measure, and do not be of those who cause loss;
26:182  And weigh with a fair balance,
26:183  And do not cheat men of their goods; and do not evil in the earth, working corruption;
26:184  And fear the one who created you and the former nations.'
26:185  They said, 'You are only of those that are bewitched;
26:186  And you are not except a mortal like us; and indeed we think you are surely of the liars;
26:187  So make a piece of the sky fall down upon us, if you are of the truthful.'
26:188  He said, 'My Lord knows best of what you do.'
26:189  But they called him liar, so the punishment of the day of shadow seized them; indeed, it was the punishment of a great day.
26:190  Indeed, in that surely is a sign but most of them are not believers.
26:191  And indeed, your Lord, surely, He is the Mighty, the Compassionate.
26:192  And indeed, it surely is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds;
26:193  The faithful spirit has brought it down
26:194  Upon your heart, that you should be of the warners;
26:195  In clear Arabic tongue,
26:196  And indeed, it surely is in the scriptures of the former people.
26:197  Is it not a sign to them, that those of the children of Israel who have knowledge recognise it?
26:198  And if We had sent it down to any foreigner,
26:199  And he had read it to them, they would not have believed in it.
26:200  Thus We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners,
26:201  They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
26:202  And it shall come to them suddenly while they do not perceive.
26:203  Then they will say, 'Shall we be respited?'
26:204  Do they wish to hasten on the punishment?
26:205  Then have you considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years,
26:206  Then there comes to them what they are threatened,
26:207  That will not avail them which they had to enjoy.
26:208  And We do not destroy any city without its having warners
26:209  As a reminder, and We are not unjust.
26:210  And the devils did not bring it down;
26:211  And it is not appropriate for them; and they are not able.
26:212  Indeed, they are surely put apart from the hearing.
26:213  So do not call upon another god with God, or you will be of the punished;
26:214  And warn your kinsfolk, the nearer relatives.
26:215  And lower your wing to those of the believers who follow you;
26:216  Then if they disobey you, say, ' Indeed, I am clear of what you do,'
26:217  And rely on the Mighty, the Compassionate,
26:218  The one who sees you when you stand up,
26:219  And your going to and fro among those who prostrate.
26:220  Indeed He, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
26:221  Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
26:222  They descend upon every sinful liar,
26:223  They pass on what is heard; and most of them are liars.
26:224  And the poets, the erring follow them.
26:225  Do you not see that they go heedlessly in every valley?
26:226  And that they say what they do not do?
26:227  Except those who believe, and do good works, and remember God much, and defend themselves after they are wronged; and those who do wrong will soon know what overturning they will be overturned.
