6:1  All praise is due to Allâh who created the heavens and the earth and brought into being darkness and light. Yet those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth have set up equals to their Lord (in worship).
6:2  He is the One Who created you from clay and then decreed a term. There is another term fixed with Him. Yet you, (who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth), are still casting doubt on (the Resurrection Day).
6:3  He is Allâh, the Almighty God, both in the heavens and on the earth. He has full knowledge of whatsoever you conceal and whatsoever you openly profess. And He already knows perfectly well what you earn.
6:4  Never came there to them a Sign of the Signs of their Lord, but they take no heed.
6:5  Verily, they refused to acknowledge the Truth when it has been revealed to them, but soon they will face the dire consequences of what they used to scoff.
6:6  Have they (Quraysh Tribe of Mecca) not seen how many generations We utterly destroyed before them? We had made them more established in the earth than you. We leashed against them the heavy clouds pouring down abundant rain, and made the rivers flow under them. Then We destroyed them for their iniquitous deeds and raised up after them another generation.
6:7  Even if We had sent down to you a writing upon parchment and they had felt it with their hands, those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth would have said: “This is no more than an appreciable sorcery (& devilry).”
6:8  They say: “Why has not an Angel been sent down to him?" If We had sent down an Angel, then the matter would have been decided, and then no respite would have been granted to them.
6:9  Had We made him an Angel, We should have made him a man, too. We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves.
6:10  Surely Other Messengers had already been mocked at before you, but those who mocked at them were encompassed by what they used to scoff .
6:11  Say: "Travel through the land and see how dreadful was the fate of those who were spiritually dead and blind.”
6:12  Say: “Unto whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on the earth?" Say: “Unto Allâh.” He has taken upon Himself to show Mercy. He will certainly assemble you for the Day of Resurrection which is absolutely inevitable. As for those who are caught in self-destruction, they have no tendency to live by Faith.
6:13  Unto Him belongs whatever exists in the night and in the day, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
6:14  Say: "Is it other than Allâh I should choose to be as a guardian, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, Who feeds (all) and Himself never needs to be fed?" Say: “Moreover, I have surely been commanded to be the first to submit (to Him) and not be one of the polytheists.”
6:15  Say I truly fear the torment of a great day if it happens that I disobey my Lord.”
6:16  He from who (the chastisement) is averted on that day, Allâh Almighty has shown Mercy toward him. And that is the most ultimate success and the supreme one.
6:17  If Allâh touches you with affliction, none can remove it except Him. And if He touches you with good fortune, (none can preclude it). And Allâh is Most Capable of doing whatsoever He desires.
6:18  He is the Omnipotent over His servants, and He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.
6:19  Say: "What thing is the greatest in testimony?" Say: “Allâh is a Witness between you and me. And this Qur’ān has been revealed to me so that with it I may warn you and whomsoever It reaches.” What! Do you really bear witness that there are other gods besides Allâh? Say: “I bear not witness thereto.” Say: “He is the One True God. And indeed I am innocent of that which you associate with Him.”
6:20  Those to whom We have given the Scripture recognize him as they recognize their own sons. But as for those who are caught in self-destruction, they have no tendency to live by Faith.
6:21  Who then does greater evil than one who attributes falsehood to Allâh and refuses to gives credence to what He revealed? Indeed, those who voluntarily and consciously abandon the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims will never achieve their aims.
6:22  And, (mention), on the day We shall gather them all together, then ask those who associated other gods (with Allâh): “Where, now, are those associates of yours whom you assumed (to be gods).”
6:23  Then they will have no excuse except that they will say: "By Allâh, our Lord, we were not Polytheists.”
6:24  Behold! How they lie against their own selves, and how that which they used to fabricate has failed them!
6:25  Among them are (spiritually blind) who listen to you, but We have placed coverings on their hearts, lest they understand It, and deafness in their ears (lest they hear It). Even if they were to see every sign (of Allâh’s power and glory), they would not live by Faith. So much so that when they come to you, they persist in arguing with you. And those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth say: “This is no more than myths of the ancients.”
6:26  They ventured to prevent others (from following the Prophet), and they themselves kept away from him. Verily, they sabotage none but their own selves, yet they lack the ability to perceive it.
6:27  If you could see them when they are made to stand by the Inferno, they would say: “Oh, would that we were but sent back (to the worldly life)! Then we would not repudiate what our Lord revealed. In fact, we would be among those who live by Faith.”
6:28  No indeed! It has become obvious to them that which they used to conceal before. If they were sent back to (the worldly life), they would definitely return to that which they are forbidden. They are indeed the inventors of lying.
6:29  They say: "There is no (other life) except this, our worldly life, and we are not going to be raised again."
6:30  If you could only see when they are made to stand before their Lord, He will say (unto them): “Is this (-resurrection and reckoning-) not the truth?" They will say: “Yea, by our Lord.” He will say: “Then taste the chastisement for your persistent refusal to acknowledge the Truth.”
6:31  Lo! Lost indeed are those who deny the meeting with Allâh, so much so that when the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly, they will say: "Alas for us! We failed to look after it properly!" They will bear the burdens (of their iniquitous deeds) on their backs. Surely evil is that which they bear!
6:32  This worldly life is not more than a play and pastime. Surely the abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who act piously. Don't you have conscious thoughts at least in this sense?
6:33  We know indeed that what they say certainly grieves you. Surely it is not you that they deny. It is What Allâh has revealed that those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims aim to refute.
6:34  Verily, the Messengers (of Allâh) before you were denied, but they patiently endured the denial and the persecution until Our help came to them. There is none who has the power to alter the Word of Allâh- ( there is no authority to change what has been established and authorized by Allâh). There have already come to you some of the tidings of the past Messengers.
6:35  And If their recalcitrance towards you, (O' Muhammad and towards that with which you have been sent), is harsh on you, then you may, if you can, seek a passage into the earth or a ladder to heaven in order to bring them a (miraculous) sign. Had Allâh imposed His will, He could have brought them all together to Yield to the Truth, so do not be of those who don’t posses enough knowledge of the Truth
6:36  Only those who listen (attentively) will respond (wisely to the Truth). As for the dead, Allâh will raise them to life (on the Last Day), and then to Him they will be returned.
6:37  They say: “Why has not a (miraculous) sign been sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "Allâh is certainly Most Capable of sending down a (miraculous) sign. But most of them don’t posses enough knowledge of the Truth.
6:38  There is no crawling creature on the earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but they are communities like to you. We have neglected nothing in the Book. And to their Lord they shall be gathered.
6:39  Those who refuse to give credence to Our Signs are deaf and dumb, living in (utter) darkness. Lo! Allah holds back the Light of His inspiration from whomsoever He wills, and inspires whomsoever He wills to the right path (to Salvation).
6:40  Say: “(Envisage a day) when you are completely surprised by the chastisement of Allâh or by the Hour, will you then call upon any other than Allâh (for help)? (Answer me) if you were truthful?”
6:41  Nay! It is Him alone you will call upon, and He may, if He wills, remove (the stress) which caused you to call upon Him. And you will forget then whatever partners you used to associate with Him."
6:42  Verily We sent Ours Messengers to people before you, then We afflicted them with adversity and hardship so that they might humble themselves.
6:43  Why, then, when Our retribution came upon them, did they not humble themselves? Lo! Their hearts were hardened, and Satan beautified their evil deeds for them.
6:44  When they forgot that with which they had been admonished, We opened to them the gates of all things, until, in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, We (surprisingly) seized them and lo! they fell into despair!
6:45  So the last remnant of the people who voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims was cut off. All the praise is due to Allâh, the Lord of all the beings.
6:46  Say: "What do you think if Allâh intends to take away your hearing and your sight, and to set a seal on your hearts, what god other than Allâh is there could restore them to you?” See how We expound (our) Signs (of power & glory) in various ways, yet they turn away.”
6:47  Say: "What do you think if the chastisement of Allâh comes upon you, whether unexpectedly or openly, will any be destroyed except the ones who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims. ”
6:48  We sent not the Messengers but as ones who bear glad tidings and deliver a severe warning. So whosoever lives by Faith and makes amends, they will have no fear upon them, nor will they ever grieve.
6:49  But those who refuse to give credence to What We revealed will be afflicted with punishment for their persistent disobedience (and ingratitude).
6:50  Say, “I do not say to you that I possess the treasures house of Allâh, nor do I know the (secrets of the world of) unseen, nor do I claim to be an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me (From Allâh)." And say: "Can the (spiritually) blind be held equal to the enlightened one? Will you not, then, reflect?"
6:51  So warn by means of this Qur’ān those who are held in awe by the possibility of being gathered before their Lord- there is no protector for them, nor any intercessor other than Him- so that they may act piously.
6:52  Lest you become of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims, do not drive away those who call upon their Lord at morning and evening, seeking (only) His pleasure. Nothing of their account falls upon you, and nothing of your account falls upon them, that should make you to drive them away.
6:53  This is how We tried some of them by others, that they may say: "Is it these whom Allâh has favored from among us?" Does not Allâh know best the ones who are grateful?
6:54  And when those who have Faith in what We revealed come to you, say: ”Peace be upon you!” Your Lord has taken it upon Himself to show Mercy, if anyone of you commits an iniquitous deed out of ignorance, then repents and makes amends, (he can rest assured that) Allâh is Oft-Forgiving- Most Merciful.”
6:55  This is how We distinctly explain what We reveal: that the path of those who are Ungodly Sinners may become apparent.
6:56  Say: ‘Truly I have been forbidden to worship those (fabled gods) whom you (idolize) and you call upon, other than Allâh.” And say: “I am not going to yield to your whims lest I fall away from the Faith and lose this awesome opportunity for receiving salvation.”
6:57  Say: “I stand upon a cognizable sign from my Lord, and you have already denied Him. Not within my power is that which you desire to be hastened. Judgment belongs unto Allâh alone. He relates the Truth, and He is (indeed) the Perfect Judge.”
6:58  Say: “If that which you desire to be hastened were in my power, surely the matter would have been decided between you and me. Allâh knows well those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.”
6:59  With Him are the keys of (the world of) unseen. No one knows them but He. He has the full knowledge of whatsoever is on the land or in the sea. Not a (single) leaf falls, but He knows it; and neither is there a single grain in the deep darkness of the earth, nor anything, wet or dry, but it is recorded in a Comprehensive Book.
6:60  It is He who takes your soul by night. And He has full knowledge of what you do in the daytime. Then He raises you up again therein, that the appointed term may be fulfilled, then unto Him shall you return, then He will inform you of what you used to do.
6:61  He is the Omnipotent over His servants. And He sends recording-Angels watching over you. When death approaches one of you, Our Messengers (-the Angels of death-) take his soul, and they never fail in their duty.
6:62  Then they are returned to Allâh, their True Lord. Judgment belongs to Him. He is Swift in taking account.
6:63  Say: “Who delivers you from the risks of land and sea? You call upon Him humbly and in secret (saying), “If it happens that He delivers us from this, we will definitely be of those who give thanks.”
6:64  Say: “It is Allâh Alone who delivers you from it and from every distress. And yet you still associate others with Him."
6:65  Say: “It is He Who has the power to unleash upon you a chastisement from above you or from beneath your feet, or confound you by splitting you into sects, and make some of you taste the violence of one another. See how We distinctly explain Our Revelations in various ways so that they may understand (& distinguish truth and falsehood, and that they may prefer truth).
6:66  But your people, (O’ Muhammad), refused to give credence to the Qur’ān, even though it is the Ultimate Truth (from your Lord). Say: "I am not one designated as a guardian over you to take full responsibility for your affairs."
6:67  For every Prophecy has a term appointed for its fulfillment. And soon you will come to know (the dire consequences of your iniquitous deeds).
6:68  When you see those who engage in vain discourse about Our (Holy) Verses, then walk away from them till they turn to another subject. If it happens that Satan caused you to forget, then after recollection, do not sit in the company of those people who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.
6:69  Those who act piously are not held accountable for the (evil deeds of the scoffers) at all. But it is incumbent on the Pious ones to admonish them so that they may show honor and reverence for Allâh.
6:70  Leave alone those who take their religion for play and pastime, and those whom the worldly life has deluded. But remind them with the Qur’ān, lest a Human person be given up to destruction for what it has earned, for there will neither be any protecting friend nor intercessor, other than Allâh, and even though it may offer any ransom, it will not be taken from it. Such are they who are given to destruction for what they have earned. For them will be a drink of scalding water and an extremely painful punishment for their persistent refusal to acknowledge the truth.
6:71  Say: “Should we call upon, other than Allâh, those (fabled gods) which cannot benefit or harm us, and turn back to spiritual darkness after Allâh has shown us the right path? If we do so, we will be like the one whom the devils entice away, leaving him blindly bewildered in the land, and who has companions trying to bring him back to the right path, calling (him), “Come to us.” Say: "Indeed, the Revelation knowledge given by Allâh is the only True Knowledge of Truth (i.e. Islam). And we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the beings,
6:72  To establish regular Prayer and to act piously towards Him. To Him you will all be gathered together.
6:73  And it is He Who created the heavens and earth in truth. When He says: "Be,"then there it is. His word is the (ultimate) truth, and His is the (absolute) sovereignty on the day when the trumpet will be blown. He is the All-Knowing (of the world) of unseen and the visible. He is the All- Wise, the All-Aware.
6:74  And (Mention) when Abraham said to his father, Azar: “Do you take idols for gods? Indeed, I see you and your people living in spiritual darkness."
6:75  This is how We showed Abraham the supremacy of the heavens and earth so that he might be of those who believe (in Allâh) with absolute certainty.
6:76  When the night darkened upon him, he saw a star. He said: “This is my Lord.” But when it set, he said: “I do not like those that set.”
6:77  Then, when he beheld the moon appearing in all its splendour, he said: “This is my Lord.” But when it set, he said: “If it happens that my Lord will not show me the right path, I will definitely be of those who deviate from the path of truth.”
6:78  Then, when he beheld the sun shining in all its splendor, he said: "This is my lord. This is greater." But when it also set, he said: “O’ my people, surely I am free from all that which you associate with Allâh."
6:79  Indeed, I have turned my face towards the One who created the heavens and the earth, as a true monotheist -(wholly devoted to Allâh). And I am not of those who believe in a plurality of gods."
6:80  His people argued with him. He said: "Do you argue with me concerning Allâh when He has shown me the right path? I stand not in awe of any of those which you associate with Him in worship. (No harm will touch me) except when my Lord wills something. My Lord comprehends all things in His knowledge. Will you not then be admonished?
6:81  How should I be in awe of that which you associate in worship with Allâh when you are not afraid of associating in worship with Allâh things for which He has not sent down on you any authority? Which, then, of the two parties has more right to safety, if you (think that you) have sufficient knowledge?
6:82  Those who live by Faith and do not befoul their faith with falsehood, those will achieve genuine security, and they are those who have the awesome opportunity for receiving salvation.
6:83  That was Our decisive argument which We gave to Abraham against his people. We exalt in decrees of rank whomsoever We will. Indeed, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
6:84  And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob. We guided each of them (into all the truth) as We had guided Noah (into all the truth) aforetime. And of his progeny, (We guided into all the truth) David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses and Aaron. This is how We reward those who pursue righteousness and perfection in Faith.
6:85  We guided (into all the truth) Zachariah , John , Jesus and Elias. Each one of them was of the righteous.
6:86  (We also guided into all the truth) Ishmael , Elisha , Jonah and Lot. Each one of them We preferred above all beings.
6:87  We preferred some of their forefathers, their descendants, and their brothers. We chose them and guided them (by Our Spirit) to a straight path.
6:88  This is the Word of Allâh- a Light for the path of Truth- with which He inspires whoever He wills of His servants. Had they associated others with Him in worship, their good deeds would have been nullified.
6:89  Those were the Ones to whom We gave the Scripture, the Authority of Moral Judgments and the Gift of Prophecy. But if these (Arab Pagans) gave no credence to these favors, We would entrusted them to a people who will pay complete attention to them.
6:90  Those (Prophets) to whom Allâh gave the revelation in the knowledge of Him, follow their instruction. Say: "I ask of you no reward for (my efforts to direct you the path of truth). This Qur’ān is only a Book of Enlightenment for all the worlds of mankind and jinn."
6:91  They do not show honor and reverence for Allâh in accordance with what is required when they say: “Allâh has not revealed anything to any human being.” Say: "Who then revealed the Scripture which Moses brought as a Light and a True Source of the Enlightenment for the people? You put it into parchments, some of which you show, whereas you hide much thereof; and you have been taught (by it) that which neither you nor your fathers knew (before).” Say: "Allâh (sent it down)." Then leave them to amuse themselves with idle talk.
6:92  This Qur’ān is a Blessed Book which We have revealed confirming that which preceded It so that you may warn the mother of towns (-Mecca-) and those around it. Those who acknowledge (the existence of) the Hereafter believe in It and strictly observe their prayers.
6:93  Who then does greater evil than one who attributes falsehood to Allâh, or says: “It has been revealed to me,” whereas nothing has been revealed to him, and who claims: "I will produce the like of what Allâh has revealed?" If you could only see those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims when they are in the agonies of death, and the Angels stretch forth their hands (saying), "Yield up your souls! This day you will be awarded with the chastisement of degradation because of the falsehood which you used to attribute Allâh- other than the truth- and because you turned away from His Revelations (in a very repulsive manner).”
6:94  Now assuredly you have come to Us one by one as We created you for the first time and you have left what We bestowed upon you (in the worldly life) behind your backs. And We do not see with you your intercessors whom you presumed that they were associates of Allâh in your affairs. Indeed, the bond between you and them has now been severed, and all your claims have caused you to go away into perdition.
6:95  Indeed, it is Allâh who causes the seed-grain and the date-stones to sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That is Allâh! So How can you then be deceived into going away from the established course?
6:96  He is the Cleaver of the daybreak. He made the night for rest, the sun and the moon for the reckoning of time. That is the measuring of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.
6:97  He is the One who made the stars for you so that you may be able to follow the right direction with their help amid the darkness of the land and sea. Verily We have distinctly explained the Revelations for a people who have (spiritual gift of) knowledge.
6:98  It is He is who has produced you from a single Human Person (Adam) and gave you a temporary resort and a permanent abode. Verily, We have distinctly explained the Revelations for a people who understand (& distinguish truth and falsehood, and they prefer truth).
6:99  It is He is who sends down water from the sky. We bring forth therewith every kind of growth, then We bring forth with that green foliage where from We bring forth thick clustered grain. From the date-palm, out of its sheaths, come forth bunches of dates hanging low and near. We produce therewith gardens of grapes, olives and pomegranates, each similar in kind yet different (in types and taste). Look at the fruit thereof when it bears fruit, and the ripening thereof. Verily, in this, there are Signs (of Allâh’s power & glory) for a people who live a life of Genuine Faith.
6:100  And yet, some people regarded the jinn as partners with Allâh, although He created them; and they falsely ascribe to Him sons and daughters without any knowledge. All Praise and Glory Be To Him, and Highly Exalted is He above that which they attribute to Him.
6:101  He is the (Brilliant) Originator of the heaven and the earth. How can He have a son when He has no consort? He has created all things; and He has perfect knowledge of everything (-past, present, and future—both of what is actual and what is possible).
6:102  Such is Allâh (Almighty), your Lord. There is no god but He, the creator of all things. So worship (& venerate) Him alone. He is the Guardian over all things.
6:103  No vision can perceive Him, but He perceives all vision. And He is the All-Subtle, the All-Aware.
6:104  Verily, enlightenment and decisive arguments have come to you from your Lord. So Whoever sees does so for his own good, and whoever chooses to be (spiritually blind) does so to his own loss. And (Say): “I am not a guardian over you.”
6:105  This is how We distinctly explain the Revelations in various ways so that the Polytheists may say: "You have learned it (from somebody else)”, and that We may make it evident to a people who have spiritual gift of knowledge.
6:106  Follow that which has been revealed to you from your Lord. There is no god but He. And turn away from the Polytheists.
6:107  Had Allâh willed, they would not have set up gods with Him. We have not appointed you a watcher over them, nor are you a guardian over them to take full responsibility for their affairs."
6:108  And do not revile those who invoke other than Allâh, lest (if you do so), they would wrongfully revile Allâh through ignorance. Thus, to every community have We made their deed appealing. Verily, they are (destined) to return to their Lord. He will inform them of whatever they used to do.
6:109  They swear by Allâh with their most solemn oaths that if it happens that a (miraculous) sign is shown to them, they will definitely come to Faith. Say: “Surely, All signs are only in the power of Allâh. (O’ you who live by Faith), what will make you know exactly that even if a sign were sent to them, they would still have no tendency to live by Faith?.
6:110  We shall confound their hearts and eyes for they believe not therein the first time. And We shall leave them blindly wandering in their transgression.
6:111  Even if We had sent down to them Angels, made the dead to speak to them and gathered together before them all things in one view, they would not have come to Faith- unless Allâh had willed it. But most of them are ignorant (of this truth).
6:112  And thus We have appointed to every Prophet an enemy ,- evil ones among men and jinn- whispering to one another with flowery words of deception. However, if your Lord had willed, they would not have done so. Thus, leave them alone with that which they fabricate.
6:113  To such (deceit), let the hearts of those who refuse to acknowledge (the existence of) the Hereafter be inclined. Let them take pleasure in it and gain what they are gaining.
6:114  (Say): “Shall I then seek a judge, other than Allâh, to judge between us, whereas He is the One who has sent down to you the Qur’ān, well-distinguished?” Those to whom We gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord with truth. Now, therefore, do not be of those who harbour doubts.
6:115  The Word of your Lord is perfectly fulfilled in truth and in justice. There is none who has the power to alter His Word- ( there is no authority to change what has been established and authorized by Allâh). He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knowing.
6:116  If it happens that you yield to the whims of most part of those on the earth, they will deceive you into going away from the path of (Knowing) Allâh. They only follow assumptions and only speak lies.
6:117  Indeed, your Lord knows the one who deviates from his path and those who walk on the path of truth.
6:118  Now, therefore, eat only of that whereon the name of Allâh is commemorated if you have Faith in His Revelations:
6:119  Why should you not eat such flesh on which the name of Allâh has been commemorated (at the time of slaughtering the animal), since He has clearly declared to you what He had forbidden you, except under compulsion of necessity? Surely many deviants lead others into temptation by their whims through ignorance. Indeed, your Lord is the One Who knows those who transgress.
6:120  Shun the outward aspect of sin and its inward aspect! Surely those who commit sin shall be requited for what they perpetrate.
6:121  And do not eat of that (flesh) on which the name of Allâh has not been mentioned (at the time of slaughtering the animal). It is certainly (a clear sign of) disobedience. Indeed, the devils entice their confidants to argue with you. If it happens that you were tempted to yield to their whims, then you will certainly be of the Polytheists."
6:122  Is he who was dead, then We gave him life and set for him light whereby he may walk among men, be as he whose similitude is sunk in the depths of darkness from whence he cannot come forth? This is how the evil deeds of the spiritually dead and blind have been made more appealing to them.
6:123  This is how We placed in every town ringleaders of its Ungodly Sinners to be involved in plots and intrigues therein. But they only plot against their own selves. And they lack the ability to perceive it.
6:124  Whenever a Sign comes to them, they say: “We shall not come to Faith til we receive the like of that which the Messengers of Allâh received." Allâh already knows where to place His Message. Humiliation from Allâh and extremely severe punishment shall smite those who willfully persist in sin for what they used to plot.
6:125  Whomsoever Allâh desires to guide (into all the truth), He expands his breast to (embrace) Islam. But whomsoever He desires to let go away form the Faith, He makes his breast tight and constricted, as though he would mount up into the sky. This is how Allâh lets abomination befall upon those who have no tendency to live by Faith.
6:126  Such is the path of your Lord- a straight path. We have distinctly explained the Revelations for those who are mindful.
6:127  They will have the abode of peace (Al-Jannah) with their Lord, and He will be their guardian because of what they used to do.
6:128  And, (mention), the day when He shall gather them all together, (and it will be said unto them): "O' assembly of jinn, You have caused many to stumble by your instruction.” And their allies among mankind will say: “O’ our Lord, we enjoyed one another, but now we have arrived at the appointed term which You have appointed for us." He will say: "The Fire is your dwelling place, wherein you will abide, except for what Allâh wills. Indeed your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing."
6:129  This is how We let some of those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims have power over others because of what they are accustomed to earn.
6:130  O’ assembly of jinn and mankind, did not (Our) Messengers from among your own race come to you, reciting to you My (Holy) Verses and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They will say, "We bear witness against our selves." It was the worldly life that deceived them. So they will bear witness against their own selves that they were spiritually dead and blind
6:131  And so it is that your Lord would not destroy villages through injustice, on their part, so long as their inhabitants were unaware (of the spiritual realities).
6:132  All will have degrees according to what they have done. Your Lord has complete knowledge of what they do.
6:133  Your Lord is the Self-sufficient One, the Lord of Mercy. If He so wills, He may put an end to your existence and thereafter cause whom He wills to succeed you in like manner as He produced you from the seed of other people.
6:134  Lo! What you are promised will definitely come to pass, and you have no power at all to frustrate it.
6:135  Say, "O’ my people, act according to your strength. Verily, I will act according to my duty. In the Hereafter, you will come to know the one whose fate will be the ultimate abode of ecstasy. And those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims can never achieve their aims.”
6:136  And the polytheists assign to Allâh from what He created of crops and cattle a share and say: "This is for Allâh" - so they assert - “and this is for our associate-gods." However, that which is intended for their associate-gods reaches not Allâh, and that which is intended for Allâh reaches their associate-gods. Evil is that, provision of theirs, which they decree!
6:137  Thus have (their associate-gods) made the killing of their children to seem fair to many of the Polytheists in order to lead them to their ruin, and to make their faith obscure for them. Had Allâh willed, they would not have done so. Now, therefore, leave them alone with that which they fabricate.
6:138  They also say: “Such cattle and crops are sacrosanct, forbidden. No one will eat thereof except those whom we allow”- so they assert -: and cattle whose backs are forbidden (to be ridden on or loaded with burdens), and cattle on which the name of Allâh is not mentioned,”(when they slaughter them, mentioning instead the names of their deities). All that is a lie against Him. Consequently, He will chastise them for what they were forging.
6:139  And they say: "What is in the bellies of these cattle is reserved exclusively for our males, and forbidden to our women.” But if it is born dead, then they are both partakers thereof. He will chastise them for their (false) attribution. Indeed , He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.
6:140  Lost, indeed, are those who slay their own children foolishly without knowledge, and forbid that which Allâh has provided for them, attributing falsehood to Allâh. Surely they have fallen away from the Faith.
6:141  And he is the One Who produces gardens, trellised and untrellised, palm-trees, corn affording various food, olives and pomegranates, alike and unlike to one another. Eat of its fruit when it bears fruit and pay the due thereof on the day of its reaping. But do not act extravagantly. Verily Allâh does not demonstrates His own love for the prodigals.
6:142  Of cattle are there some for carrying burdens and some for making carpets. Eat of that which Allâh has bestowed upon you, and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Surely he is a fierce enemy of you.
6:143  Four kinds of cattle in pairs has Allâh given you: of sheep one pair, and of goats one pair. Say: “Has Allâh forbidden the two males or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females enclose? Inform me with knowledge if you speak the truth.
6:144  Then a pair of camels and a pair of oxen. Say: "Has He forbidden the two males or the two females? Or that which the wombs of the two females enclose? Were you present when Allâh commanded you this? Then who does greater evil than one who attributes falsehood to Allâh to deceive men into falling away ( from the Faith) without knowledge? Surely Allâh holds back the Light of His inspiration from a people who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned the Full Knowledge of the Truth in favour of their own whims.
6:145  Say: "I do not find in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to eat if one desires to eat thereof, unless it be a dead (animal), or running blood, or the flesh of swine for that certainly is filthy, or impious thing that has been hallowed to other than Allâh. But, whosoever is forced (to eat), not willfully or transgressing, (can rest assured that) your Lord is absolutely Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
6:146  And to those who are Jews, We forbade every beast having claws, and of bullocks and sheep We forbade them the fat of both except that which their backs carry, or their entrails, or what is intermixed with the bone. This was a punishment We impose on them because of their iniquity. And We are absolutely truthful.
6:147  If it happens that they, (the Jews), deny you, then say: “Your Lord is Possessor of all Encompassing Mercy. And His might (His chastisement when it comes) will never be driven back from those who are Ungodly Sinners.
6:148  Those who are Polytheists will say: "If Allâh had willed, we would not have been Polytheists, neither would our forefathers, nor would we have forbidden anything.” Even so those who were before them denied until they tasted Our punishment. Say: "Do you have any knowledge that you can produce it to us?" Surely you only follow false assumptions and only speak lies.
6:149  Say, “Unto Allâh belongs the decisive argument. Had it been His Will, He would have surely guided you all together (into all the truth).”
6:150  Say: "Bring forward your witnesses, who can bear testimony that Allâh has forbidden this”. If it happens that they bear testimony of this, do not bear testimony with them and do not yield to the whims of those who deny Our Revelations and have no Faith in the Hereafter. Lo! They hold others as equal (in worship) with their Lord."
6:151  Say: "Come, let me recite to you what Allâh has (really) forbidden to you: associate naught with Him: be kind and dutiful to your parents: do not kill your children for fear of poverty- We will provide for you and for them-: do not come near to indecencies, openly or in secret: kill none whom Allâh has forbidden except in the course of justice. This is what He has charged you with so that you may achieve a higher level of consciousness.
6:152  Do not come near to the property of the orphan except to improve it, until he attains his maturity. And give full measure and weight in justice. We do not task any Person beyond his scope. When you pronounce judgment, observe justice, even if the matter is related to a near relative, and fulfill the covenant of Allâh. This is what He has charged you with so that you may be mindful.
6:153  Verily, this is My right path. So follow it and do not follow other ways, lest you go away from His Path. This is what He has ordained for you so that you may act piously.
6:154  Then We gave Moses the Book- completing (Our favour) to those who pursue righteousness and perfection in Faith and distinguishing every thing- as a Source of Enlightenment and Mercy so that they would be convinced of the meeting with their Lord.
6:155  This is a Blessed Book (the Qur’ān) which We have sent down. So follow It and act piously so that you may be delivered from all the consequences of your iniquitous deeds.
6:156  (We have sent it down) lest you should say: “The Scripture was revealed only to two groups before us, and we had no knowledge of their teachings,
6:157  Or lest you should say: "If only the Book had been sent down to us, we would definitely have made more efforts to gain the knowledge of truth and live before the Face of Allâh than them.” Now there has come to you from your Lord a Decisive Argument (he Qur’ān) as a True Source of Source of Enlightenment and Mercy. Who then does greater evil than one who persistently refuses to acknowledge what Allâh has revealed and walks away from them? Consequently, We will chastise those who walk away from what We have revealed with an extremely severe chastisement for their aversion.
6:158  Are they waiting for nothing less than that the Angels should come to them, or that your Lord Himself should come, or that some of the (miraculous) signs of your Lord should come? On the day that one of the (miraculous) signs of your Lord comes, no Human Person will be benefited by his belief had he not believed before or earned good in his belief. Say: “Wait! We too are waiting!”
6:159  As for those who broke the unity of their Faith and became sects, you have nothing to do with them. Their matter is only with Allâh Who will inform them of what they used to do.
6:160  Whoever brings a single righteous deed will receive tenfold of its like, but he who brings an ubiquitous deed shall be recompensed only for its like. None shall be wronged.
6:161  Say: “As for me, my Lord has directed me to a straight path- an upright religion- the creed of Abraham, who was a monotheist - having a deep, pure, focused Faith in Allâh- He was not among the Polytheists.”
6:162  Say: “Surely, my Prayer and my Sacrifice, my life and my death are (all) for Allâh- the Lord of all the beings.
6:163  No partner has He: this is what I have been commanded. And I am the first of those who wholly submit (themselves to His authority).”
6:164  Say: “Shall I seek a lord other than Allâh while He is the Lord of all things? No Human Person earns anything except to his own account, and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Verily , you are all (destined) to return to Him, and then He will inform you of that which you used to differ."
6:165  He is the One who has made you successors in the land and exalted some of you in rank above others so that He might try you by means of what He has bestowed upon you. Most certainly your Lord is Swift in punishment. And most surely He is Oft-Forgiving- Most Merciful.
