23:1  Indeed, prosperous are the believers
23:2  Those who they are humble in their prayer,
23:3  And those who they turn away from idle speech,
23:4  And those who they are doers of the almsgiving.
23:5  And those who they are guardians of their private parts,
23:6  Except from their spouses or what their right hands possess. Then indeed, they are not to be blamed;
23:7  And whoever seeks beyond that, then those, they are the transgressors.
23:8  And those who they are observers of their trusts and their promise,
23:9  And those who they guard over their prayers.
23:10  Those they are the inheritors
23:11  Those who will inherit Al Firdaus; they will dwell in it forever.
23:12  And indeed, We created man from an extract of clay;
23:13  Then We placed him as a sperm in an established resting place;
23:14  Then We created the sperm a clot, then We created the clot a lump, then We created the lump bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We produced it another creation; So blessed is God, the best of creators.
23:15  Then indeed, after that you surely die;
23:16  Then indeed, on the Day of Resurrection you shall be raised.
23:17  And indeed, We created above you seven roads; and We are not heedless of the creation.
23:18  And We send down from the heaven water by measure, and We make it rest in the earth; and indeed, We are surely able to take it away.
23:19  And We produce for you thereby gardens of palms and grapes wherein are many fruits for you, and from which you eat.
23:20  And a tree growing out of Mount Sinai which produces oil, and a condiment for those who eat.
23:21  And indeed, in the cattle there is surely a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies; and you have therein many advantages, and of them you eat,
23:22  And on them and on the ships you are carried.
23:23  And certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he said, 'O my people! Worship God, you have no god other than Him; will you then not fear?'
23:24  But the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said, 'This is not except a mortal like you, he wishes to gain superiority over you, and had God willed surely He would have sent angels; we have not heard of this amongst our forefathers, the former people.
23:25  He is not except a man possessed; so wait with him until a time.'
23:26  He said, 'My Lord! Help me because they call me liar.'
23:27  So We inspired to him, 'Make the ship under Our eyes and Our inspiration; then when Our command comes and the oven boils, then conduct into it two of every pair, and your family, except those against whom the word has passed; and do not address Me for those who do wrong, indeed, they are to be drowned.
23:28  And when you are settled, you and those with you in the ship, then say, "Praise be to God, the one who saved us from the unjust people."
23:29  And say, "My Lord! Make me alight in a blessed alighting-place, for you are the best of those who cause to alight."'
23:30  Indeed, in that surely are signs, and indeed, We are surely testing.
23:31  Then We raised up after them another generation;
23:32  And We sent amongst them a messenger from them saying, 'Serve God, you have no god other than He; will you then not fear?'
23:33  And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and to whom We gave enjoyment of a life of affluence in the worldly life said, 'This is not except a mortal like you, he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink.
23:34  And surely if you obey a mortal like you, indeed, you will then surely be losers.
23:35  Does he promise you that when you are dead, and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth?
23:36  Away, away with what you are promised,
23:37  It is not except our worldly life, we die and we live, and we shall not be raised.
23:38  He is not except a man who forges against God a lie. And we will not believe him.'
23:39  He said, 'My Lord! Help me, because they call me liar.'
23:40  He said, 'Within a little they will surely, definitely awake repenting.'
23:41  And the noise seized them in truth; and We made them as rubbish borne by a torrent; so away with the unjust people.
23:42  Then We raised after them other generations.
23:43  No nation can anticipate its time, nor can they delay.
23:44  Then We sent Our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came to a nation they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow some; and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe.
23:45  Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs, and a clear authority
23:46  To Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they were proud, and were a haughty people.
23:47  And they said, 'Shall we believe two mortals like us, and their people are for us servants?'
23:48  So they called them liars, and were of those destroyed.
23:49  And certainly We gave Moses the Book, that perhaps they might be guided.
23:50  And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign; and We lodged them both on a high place, possessed of settledness and a flowing spring.
23:51  O messengers! Eat of the good things and do right; indeed, what you do I know.
23:52  And indeed, this nation of yours is one nation, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.
23:53  And they cut their affair between them into books, each party rejoicing in what is with them.
23:54  So leave them in their flood until a time.
23:55  Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children,
23:56  We hasten to them in good? Nay, they do not perceive.
23:57  Indeed, those who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord,
23:58  And those who believe in the signs of their Lord,
23:59  And those who with their Lord join none,
23:60  And those who give what they give while their hearts are afraid that they unto their Lord will return,
23:61  These hasten in good deeds and they are foremost in them.
23:62  And We will not task a soul except its capacity; and with Us is a book that speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged.
23:63  Nay, their hearts are in a flood at this, and they have works besides that which they do
23:64  Until when We seize the affluent ones amongst them with the punishment; behold, they cry for help.
23:65  Do not cry for help today, indeed, from Us you will not be helped.
23:66  Certainly My signs were recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels,
23:67  Proud at it, in vain discourse by night.
23:68  Have they not pondered the word, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers?
23:69  Or do they not know their messenger, so they deny him?
23:70  Or do they say, 'In him is madness?' Nay, he came to them with the truth, and most of them are averse to the truth.
23:71  And if the truth had followed their desires, surely the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been corrupted. Nay, We came to them with their reminder, but they from their reminder turn aside.
23:72  Or do you ask them for a tribute? But the tribute of your Lord is better, and He is the best of those who provide.
23:73  And indeed, you certainly call them to a straight way;
23:74  And indeed, those who do not believe in the hereafter surely are deviating from the way.
23:75  And if We had mercy on them, and removed what was upon them of the distress, surely they would persist in their immoderation, blindly wandering.
23:76  And indeed We seized them with the punishment, but they did not abase themselves to their Lord, nor did they humble themselves;
23:77  Until when We opened for them a door with severe punishment, behold, they are in despair.
23:78  And He is the one who produced for you the hearing and the eyes and the hearts; little is what you give thanks.
23:79  And He is the one who scattered you in the earth, and to Him you shall be gathered.
23:80  And He is the one who gives life and causes death; and His is the alternation of the night and the day; so will you not become intelligent?
23:81  Nay, they say like what the former people said.
23:82  They said, 'When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we surely be raised up?
23:83  Surely, certainly we have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not except legends of the former people.'
23:84  Say, 'Whose is the earth and whoever is in it, if you know?'
23:85  Soon they will say, 'God's.' Say, 'Then will you not remember?'
23:86  Say, 'Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the great throne?'
23:87  Soon they will say, 'God's.' Say, 'Will you not then fear?'
23:88  Say, 'In whose hand is the kingdom of everything; and He protects and none is protected against Him, if you know?'
23:89  Soon they will say, 'God's.' Say, 'Then how are you bewitched?'
23:90  Nay, We came to them with the truth, and indeed, they are surely liars.
23:91  God has not taken any son, nor is there any god with Him; then each god surely would have taken away what he created, and some of them surely would have risen up over others. Glory be to God from what they describe.
23:92  Knower of the unseen and the seen, exalted is He from what they associate.
23:93  Say, 'My Lord! Whether you show me what they are threatened with,
23:94  My Lord! So do not make me among the wrongdoing people.'
23:95  And indeed, We are surely able to show you what We threaten them with.
23:96  Repel the evil with that which it is best. We know best of what they describe.
23:97  And say, 'My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the incitings of the devils;
23:98  And I seek refuge with You, my Lord! Lest they be present with me.'
23:99  Until when death comes to one of them, he says, 'My Lord, send me back,
23:100  That I may do right in what I left behind.' Nay, indeed, it is a word he speaks; and behind them is a barrier until the day they are raised.
23:101  And when the horn is blown in, and there shall be no relationship between them on that day, nor shall they question one another.
23:102  And he whose scales are heavy, then those they are the prosperous.
23:103  But he whose scales are light, then those are the ones who have lost their souls, in Hell, to dwell forever.
23:104  The fire shall scorch their faces, and they shall grin with displaced lips in it.
23:105  Were My signs not recited to you, and you used to deny them?
23:106  They say, 'Our Lord! Our unprosperousness overcame us, and we were a people astray.
23:107  Our Lord! Take us out from it, and if we return, then indeed, we shall be wrongdoers.'
23:108  He will say, 'Go away into it and do not speak to Me.
23:109  Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, "Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, and You are the best of the merciful ones."
23:110  And you took them for a laughing-stock until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
23:111  Indeed, I have recompensed them this day because they were patient; indeed they, they are the successful.'
23:112  He will say, 'How long did you tarry in the earth, by number of years?'
23:113  They will say, 'We tarried a day or part of a day, but ask those who keep count.'
23:114  He will say, 'You tarried not except a little, did you know.
23:115  Did you then think that We created you for sport, and that you would not be returned to Us?'
23:116  So exalted be God, the King, the True. There is no god but He, the Lord of the noble throne.
23:117  And whoever calls upon another god with God has no proof of it, but his account is only with his Lord; indeed, the disbelievers shall not prosper.
23:118  And say, 'My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful ones.'
