23:1  Successful are the believers,
23:2  Who are humble in their prayers,
23:3  And who turn away from idle talk,
23:4  And who give Zakat,
23:5  And who guard their chastity,
23:6  Except with regard to their partners and those in their possession, for then they are not to blame.
23:7  Then if anyone desires beyond that, then those exceed the limits.
23:8  And who look after their trust and agreements,
23:9  And who guard their prayers,
23:10  Those are the inheritors,
23:11  Who inherit paradise where they will remain.
23:12  And We created man from an extract of clay.
23:13  Then We place it as sperm in a protective location.
23:14  Then We shaped the sperm into an implant and shaped the implant into a piece of flesh and shaped the piece of flesh into bones and covered the bones with meat, then We bring it out as a different creation, so exalted is Allah the best of creators.
23:15  Then after that you will die.
23:16  Then on the day of resurrection you will be raised.
23:17  And We created above you seven passages and We were not careless with the creation.
23:18  And We sent water in measure from the sky and let it settle on earth, and We are able to make it disappear.
23:19  Then We produce with it gardens of palm trees and grapes in which you have plenty of fruit and from which you eat.
23:20  And a tree which emerges from mount Sinai, which grows oil and seasoning for those who eat.
23:21  And there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We give you to drink from what is in their bellies and you have plenty of uses in them and you eat of them.
23:22  And you are carried on them and on the ship.
23:23  And We previously sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, saying: oh my people, serve Allah, you have no god other than Him, do you not beware (of Him)?
23:24  Then the leaders of his people who rejected (the truth) said: this is only a human like you who wants to be better than you, and if Allah pleased, He would have sent angels, we never heard of this amongst our forefathers.
23:25  He is only a man who is possessed, so wait with him for a while.
23:26  He said: my Lord, help me against their denial.
23:27  So We revealed to him to construct the ship before Our eyes and with Our revelation, then when Our command comes and the earth bursts open, lead into it a pair of each kind together with your family, except those of them on whom the word has gone before, and do not address Me regarding the wrongdoers, for they will be drowned.
23:28  Then when you and those with you have boarded the ship say: praised is Allah who rescued us from the wrongdoing people.
23:29  And say: my Lord, grant me a blessed landfall, and You are the best to grant it.
23:30  In this are indeed signs, and We did test them as always.
23:31  Then We raised another generation after them.
23:32  And We sent amongst them a messenger of their own: serve Allah, you have no god other than Him, do you not beware (of Him)?
23:33  And the leaders of his people who rejected (the truth) and denied the meeting of the hereafter and whom We had made comfortable in this life said: this is only a human like you who eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink.
23:34  And if you were to obey a human like you, you would be losers.
23:35  Does he promise you that when you die and are dust and bones, you will be brought out again?
23:36  Most shocking is what you are promised.
23:37  There is only this worldly life of ours, we live and we die and we will not be resurrected.
23:38  He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah and we do not believe him.
23:39  He said: my Lord, help me against their denial.
23:40  He said: Soon they will come to regret.
23:41  So the roar rightfully overtook them and We scattered them, so away with the wrongdoing people.
23:42  Then We raised other generations after them.
23:43  No community precedes its fixed term nor do they delay it.
23:44  Then We send Our messengers in succession. Each time their messenger came to a community they denied him and We made them follow one another and made them history, so away with people who do not believe.
23:45  Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron) with Our signs and a clear authority.
23:46  To Pharaoh and his leaders, but they were arrogant and were proud people.
23:47  So they said: are we going to believe two humans like us when their people serve us?
23:48  So they denied the two and were of those to be destroyed.
23:49  And We gave Musa (Moses) the book, so that they would be guided.
23:50  And We made the son of Maryam (Mary) and his mother a sign and lead them towards a hill with shelter and springs.
23:51  Oh messengers, eat from the good things and do good work, I know what you do.
23:52  And this your community is a single community, and I am your Lord, so beware of Me.
23:53  Then they split their affairs amongst them into doctrines, each party rejoicing in what they have.
23:54  So leave them in their misery for a while.
23:55  Do they reckon that when We expand wealth and children for them,
23:56  We hasten the good for them? But they don´t realise.
23:57  Those who are humble out of fear of their Lord,
23:58  And those who believe in the signs of their Lord,
23:59  And those who do not associate anything with their Lord,
23:60  And those who give what they were given and their hearts are fearful that they will return to their Lord,
23:61  Those are racing towards the good and they are the first to achieve it.
23:62  And We do not burden a soul beyond its capacity, and We have a record which speaks the truth and they will not be wronged.
23:63  But their hearts are sealed against it and they have other work which they busy themselves with.
23:64  Until when We overtake the affluent ones amongst them with the punishment, then they pray.
23:65  Don´t pray today, for you will not be helped.
23:66  You previously denied Our signs when they were recited to you and turned away on your heels.
23:67  Arrogant with it, talking boldly at night.
23:68  Do they not understand speech, or has something come to them which did not come to their forefathers?
23:69  Or don´t they know their messenger and dislike him?
23:70  Or do they say he is mad? But he brought them the truth, and most of them resent the truth.
23:71  And if the truth were to follow their desires the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would be corrupted, but We brought them their reminder and they turn away from their reminder.
23:72  Or do you ask them for a contribution, but the contribution of your Lord is better and He is the best of providers.
23:73  And you do call them to a straight path.
23:74  And those who do not believe in the hereafter deviate from the path.
23:75  And if We were to have mercy on them and take away any hardship they face, they would continue to get lost in their rebellion.
23:76  And We previously overtook them with the punishment, and they did not give in to their Lord nor humble themselves.
23:77  Until when We open for them a door full of severe punishment, then they are left with nothing.
23:78  And He is who arranged hearing, and eyesight and hearts for you, little thanks you give.
23:79  And He is who spread you out on earth, and to Him will you be gathered.
23:80  And He is who gives life and death, and His is the alternation of night and day, so will you not understand?
23:81  But they say things similar to what the earliest communities said.
23:82  They said: when we have died and are dust and bones, are we going to be raised again?
23:83  We and our fathers were promised this before, these are only stories of old.
23:84  Say: to whom belongs the earth and whoever is on it, if you know?
23:85  They will say: to Allah. Say: so will you not take heed?
23:86  Say: who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the great throne?
23:87  They will say: (it belongs) to Allah. Say: so will you not beware (of Him)?
23:88  Say: in whose hand is the ownership of everything and He gives protection and there is no protection against Him, if you know?
23:89  They will say: (it belongs) to Allah. Say: so how are you conceited?
23:90  But We brought them the truth, and they deny.
23:91  Allah did not adopt a son and there is no other god with Him, otherwise every god would take what he created and they would exalt one above the other; glorified is Allah above what they make out.
23:92  The One who knows the unseen and the apparent, so exalted is He above what they associate.
23:93  Say: my Lord, if you show me what they have been promised,
23:94  Then, my Lord. do not place me amongst the wrongdoing people.
23:95  And We are able to show you what We promise them.
23:96  Repel bad with what is better, We know best what they make out.
23:97  And say: my Lord, I seek refuge in You from the suggestions of the devils.
23:98  And I seek refuge in you, my Lord, that they should be present.
23:99  Until when death reaches any of them, he says: my Lord, send me back.
23:100  So that I do good work in what I left behind; no way, it is only something he says, and behind them is a barrier until the day of resurrection.
23:101  Then when the horn is blown, there will be no connection between them on that day and they will not ask each other.
23:102  So whose weight is heavy, those will be successful.
23:103  And whose weight is light, those will have lost themselves, they will remain in hell.
23:104  The fire will burn their faces and they will be eaten away in it.
23:105  Were not My signs recited to you but you denied them?
23:106  They will say: our Lord. our misfortune has overtaken us and we were people who went astray.
23:107  Our Lord, take us out from here, then if we return, we will be wrongdoers.
23:108  He will say: Off with you in there and do not talk to Me.
23:109  For there was a group of My servants saying: our Lord, we believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the best of those who have mercy.
23:110  So you ridiculed them until they made you forget to remember Me and you laughed about them.
23:111  Today I reward them for having had patience, for they are the winners.
23:112  He will say: how many years did you stay on earth?
23:113  They will say: we stayed a day or part of a day; ask those who keep count.
23:114  He will say: you stayed only a little while if you had known.
23:115  Did you then reckon that We created you without purpose and that you would not be brought back to Us?
23:116  So exalted is Allah, the true king, there is no god but Him, the Lord of the noble throne.
23:117  And whoever calls on another god alongside Allah for whom he has no proof, his reckoning is with his Lord, for those who reject (the truth) do not succeed.
23:118  And say: my Lord, forgive and have mercy, and you are the best of those who have mercy.
