43:1  Ha.Mim.
43:2  By the clear Book,
43:3  Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Quran; perhaps you will understand.
43:4  And indeed, it is in the Mother of the Book with us; surely high, wise.
43:5  Shall We then strike from you the Reminder, turning aside, because you are a people who are extravagant?
43:6  How many prophets have We sent amongst the former people?
43:7  And there never came to them a prophet but they used to mock him;
43:8  Then We destroyed stronger than them in might; and the example of the former people passed away.
43:9  And if you should ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely, definitely say, 'The Mighty, the Knowing created them,'
43:10  The one who made for you the earth a bed and placed for you therein roads, perhaps you may be guided:
43:11  And the one who sent down from the sky water in measure; and We revived thereby a dead country; thus shall you be brought forth;
43:12  And the one who created the pairs, all of them; and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride,
43:13  That you may settle yourselves on their backs; then remember the favour of your Lord when you settled thereon, and say, 'Glory be to the one who has subjected this to us; and we were not able to do it.
43:14  And indeed, we to our Lord surely return.'
43:15  And they allot to Him a portion of His servants; indeed, man is surely clearly ungrateful.
43:16  Or has He taken of what He creates daughters, and chosen sons for you?
43:17  And when one of them is given the good tidings of that which he likens to the Merciful, his face grows black and he is repressed.
43:18  And is he who is brought up among ornaments, and he in the altercation is not clear?
43:19  And they have made the angels, those who they are servants of the Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their witness shall be written down, and they shall be questioned;
43:20  And they say, 'If the Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them.' They have no knowledge of that, they do not except lie.
43:21  Or have We given them a book before it to which they might hold?
43:22  Nay; they say, 'Indeed we found our fathers upon a religion, and indeed, we are guided by their traces.'
43:23  And even so We sent not a warner before you into any city but its affluent ones said, 'Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and indeed, we are led by their traces.'
43:24  He said, 'If I come to you with what is a better guide than what you found your fathers agreed upon?' They said, 'Indeed, we disbelieve in what you are sent with.'
43:25  Then We took vengeance on them, and see how was the end of the deniers.
43:26  And when Abraham said to his father and his people, 'Indeed, I am clear of what you serve
43:27  Except Him who created me; and indeed, He will soon guide me:'
43:28  And he made it a word remaining among his posterity, that perhaps they might return.
43:29  Nay, I let these and their fathers have enjoyment until the truth came to them, and a clear messenger.
43:30  And when the truth came to them they said, 'This is magic, and indeed, we are disbelievers in it.'
43:31  And they say, 'Unless this Quran were sent down to a man great in the two cities.'
43:32  Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord? We distribute amongst them their livelihood in the worldly life, and We exalt some of them above others in degrees, that some may take others into subjection; but the mercy of your Lord is better than that which they amass.
43:33  And were it not that mankind would have been one nation, We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Merciful roofs of silver for their houses, and stairways upon which they mount;
43:34  And doors to their houses, and couches upon which they recline;
43:35  And ornaments of gold, - and all that is not except a provision of the worldly life, and the hereafter is better with your Lord for those who fear.
43:36  And whoever turns from the reminder of the Merciful, We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion;
43:37  And indeed, they surely turn them from the path, while they think that they are guided;
43:38  Until when he comes to Us he shall say, 'O would that between me and you there were the distance between the east and west, an evil companion.'
43:39  But it shall not avail you on that day, since you were unjust; indeed, in the punishment shall you share.
43:40  Can you make the deaf to hear, or guide the blind, or him who is in clear error?
43:41  And whether We take you away, We will surely take vengeance on them;
43:42  Or We show you that which We have promised them; surely We have power over them.
43:43  So hold fast unto that which has been revealed to you; surely you are upon a straight path.
43:44  And surely it is a reminder to you and to your people; and soon you will be questioned.
43:45  And ask those whom We have sent before you amongst Our messengers: Did We make gods beside the Merciful for them to serve?
43:46  And certainly We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, and he said, 'Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds;'
43:47  But when he came to them with Our signs, lo, they laughed at them.
43:48  And We did not show them a sign, but it was greater than its sister; and We seized them with the punishment, perhaps they may return.
43:49  And they said, 'O magician! Pray for us to your Lord, by the covenant He has made with you; indeed, we surely are guided.'
43:50  And when We removed from them the punishment, behold they broke their word.
43:51  And Pharaoh proclaimed amongst his people; he said, 'O my people! Is not the kingdom of Egypt mine? And these rivers that flow beneath me? Can you then not see?
43:52  Or am I better than this, the one who - he is contemptible, and can hardly explain himself?
43:53  Unless then bracelets of gold be cast upon him, or there come with him angels as his mates.'
43:54  And he taught his people levity; and they obeyed him: indeed, they were a disobedient people.
43:55  And when they annoyed Us, We took vengeance on them, and We drowned them all together,
43:56  And We made them a thing past, and an example to those after them.
43:57  And when the son of Mary was set forth as a parable, behold your people turned away from it.
43:58  And they said, 'Are our gods better, or is he?' They did not set it forth to you except for argument. Nay, they are a contentious people.
43:59  He is only a servant whom We have been gracious to, and We have made him a similitude for the children of Israel.
43:60  And had We willed, surely We would have made among you angels in the earth to succeed.
43:61  And indeed, it is a knowledge for the Hour; so do not doubt concerning it, and follow Me. This is a straight path;
43:62  And let not the devil turn you away; indeed, He is to you a clear enemy.
43:63  And when Jesus came with the clear proofs, he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I make clear to you some of that concerning which you disagree; so fear God and obey me;
43:64  Indeed, God, He is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him, this is a straight path.'
43:65  Then the parties among them disagreed; and woe to those who are unjust from the punishment of a painful day.
43:66  Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they do not perceive?
43:67  Friends on that day shall be enemies to each other, except those who fear.
43:68  O my servants! There is no fear for you on the day; nor shall you grieve
43:69  Those who believed in Our signs, and were those who submit.
43:70  Enter into the Garden, you and your spouses, joyful.
43:71  Dishes of gold and cups shall be sent round to them; therein is what souls desire, and eyes shall be delighted, and you shall dwell therein forever;
43:72  And that is the Garden which you are given as an inheritance for what you used to do.
43:73  Much fruit for you in it; you will eat of it.
43:74  Indeed, the sinners are in the punishment of Hell to dwell forever.
43:75  It shall not be intermitted for them, and they therein shall be confused.
43:76  We wronged them not, but they were the wrongdoers.
43:77  And they shall call, 'O Malik! Let your Lord make an end of us.' He shall say, 'You will surely tarry.'
43:78  Surely, certainly We have come to you with the truth, but most of you are averse to the truth.
43:79  Or have they arranged the affair? Then indeed We will arrange it too.
43:80  Or do they think that We did not hear their secrets and their secret discourse? Nay, but our messengers are with them writing down.
43:81  Say, 'If the Merciful has a son then I am the first of the worshippers.'
43:82  Glory be to the Lord of the heavens and the earth. The Lord of the throne, above what they ascribe.
43:83  So leave them to plunge into vain discourse and play until they meet that day of theirs which they are promised.
43:84  And He is the one who is in the heaven a god and in the earth a god. And He is the Wise, the Knowing.
43:85  And blessed is He whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, and with Him is the knowledge of the Hour, and to Him shall you be brought back.
43:86  And those they call on beside Him shall not possess intercession except those who bear witness for the truth, and they know.
43:87  And if you should ask them who created them they will surely say, 'God.' How then are they turned away?
43:88  And his saying, 'O Lord, indeed, these are a people who do not believe.'
43:89  So turn aside from them and say, 'Peace.' Soon they will know.
