3:1  Alif.Lam.Mim.
3:2  God, there is no god but He, the Living, the Everlasting.
3:3  He sent down the book to you with the truth, a verifier for what is before it; and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel
3:4  Before, guidance for mankind, and He sent down the proof. Indeed, those who disbelieved in the signs of God for them is severe punishment; and God is mighty, owner of vengeance.
3:5  Indeed, God, there is nothing hidden from Him in the earth nor in the heaven.
3:6  He is the one who fashions you in the wombs how He wills. There is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.
3:7  He is the one who sent down the book to you, some of it precise signs, they are the mother of the book, and others ambiguous; so as for those in whose hearts is deviation, then they follow what is ambiguous of it, seeking the trial and seeking its interpretation; and none know its interpretation except God. And those who are firmly rooted in the knowledge say, 'We have believed in it, all is from our Lord.' And none remember except the possessors of understanding.
3:8  Our Lord! Do not make our hearts deviate after You have guided us and give us mercy from You, indeed You, You are the Bestower.
3:9  Our Lord! Indeed, You will gather mankind together for a day concerning which there is no doubt, indeed, God will not break the promise.
3:10  Indeed, those who disbelieved, their wealth will not avail them nor their children against God anything, and those, they are the fuel of the fire.
3:11  Like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those who were before them, they called Our signs lies, then God seized them for their sins; and God is the severe in punishment.
3:12  Say to those who disbelieved, 'Soon you will be overcome and you will be gathered to hell and evil is the bed.'
3:13  Certainly, there is a sign for you in two troops, they met; a troop fighting in the way of God and another disbelieving; they see them two likes of them, the seeing of the eye. And God strengthens with His help whom He wills. Indeed, in that surely is a lesson for the possessors of eyes.
3:14  Beautified for mankind is the love of the desires of the women and the sons and the accumulated quintars of the gold and the silver and the marked horses and the cattle and the tilth. That is the provision of the worldly life; and God, with Him is a good place of return.
3:15  Say, 'Shall I inform you of better than that?' For those who feared, with their Lord are gardens beneath which the rivers flow, to dwell forever in it, and purified spouses and pleasure of God. And God sees the servants,
3:16  Those who say, 'Our Lord, indeed we, we have believed, so forgive us our sins and guard us from the punishment of the fire.'
3:17  The patient and the truthful and the obedient and those who spend and those who seek forgiveness before dawn.
3:18  God has borne witness that He, there is no god but He, and the angels and the possessors of knowledge standing up for justice, there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.
3:19  Indeed, the religion with God is the submission. And those who were given the book disagreed not except after the knowledge came to them, envy between them. And whoever disbelieves in the signs of God, then indeed, God is the swift in reckoning.
3:20  So if they argue with you, then say, 'I have submitted my face to God, and whoever has followed me.' And say to those who were given the book and the illiterate ones, 'Have you submitted?' Then if they submit, then certainly, they are guided. And if they turn away, then only upon you is the communication; and God sees the servants.
3:21  Indeed, those who disbelieve in the signs of God and kill the prophets without right and kill those who command justice among mankind, so give them glad tidings of painful punishment.
3:22  Those are the ones whose works are void in the world and the hereafter and there are no helpers for them.
3:23  Did you not look at those who were given a portion of the book? They are called to the book of God that it may judge between them, then a party of them turn away and they turn away;
3:24  That is because they, they said, 'The fire will not touch us except for numbered days.’ And what they used to forge has deceived them in their religion.
3:25  So how when We gather them together for a day concerning which there is no doubt, and each soul is paid in full what it earned and they, they will not be wronged?
3:26  Say, 'O God, Master of the kingdom! You give whom You will the kingdom; and You take away the kingdom from whom You will; and You honour whom You will; and You humiliate whom You will; in Your hand is the good; indeed, You are powerful over everything.
3:27  You make the night enter into the day; and You make the day enter into the night; and You bring forth the living from the dead; and You bring forth the dead from the living; And You provide for whom You will without reckoning.'
3:28  Let not the believers take the disbelievers as patrons besides the believers. And whoever does that, then he is not of God in anything, except that you fear from them, fearing. And God warns you of Himself; and to God is the destination.
3:29  Say, 'If you conceal what is in your breasts or you disclose it, God knows it; and He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and God is powerful over everything.'
3:30  On the day each soul will find what it did of good brought, and what it did of evil; it will wish if that between it and it is a far distance. And God warns you of Himself; and God is pitying with the servants.
3:31  Say, 'If you love God, then follow me, God will love you and He will forgive you your sins; and God is forgiving, compassionate.'
3:32  Say, 'Obey God and the messenger.' Then if they turn away, then indeed, God does not love the disbelievers.
3:33  Indeed, God chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran over the worlds.
3:34  Offspring, some of them from some; and God is hearing, knowing.
3:35  When the wife of Imran said, 'My Lord, indeed I, I have vowed to be consecrated to you what is in my womb, So accept from me, indeed You, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.'
3:36  Then when she brought it forth, she said, 'My Lord! Indeed I, I have brought it forth a female.' And God knows best what she brought forth. And the male is not like the female. 'And indeed I, I have named her Mary, and indeed I, I seek refuge with you for her and her offspring from the stoned devil.'
3:37  Then her Lord accepted her with a good acceptance and He made her to grow, a good plant, and Zachariah was responsible for her. Whenever Zachariah entered the chamber upon her, he found provision with her. He said, 'O Mary! how have you this?' She said, 'It is from God, indeed, God provides for whom He wills without reckoning.'
3:38  There Zachariah called on his Lord, he said, 'My Lord! give me a good offspring from You, indeed, you are the hearer of prayer.'
3:39  Then the angels called out to him while he was standing praying in the chamber that, 'God gives you glad tidings of John, a verifier of a word from God and a chief and a chaste one and a prophet among the righteous.'
3:40  He said, 'My Lord! How will there be for me a boy, while certainly, the old age has reached me and my wife is barren?' He said, 'Thus God does what He wills.'
3:41  He said, 'My Lord! Make a sign for me.' He said, 'Your sign is that you will not speak to the people three days except by motioning; and remember your Lord much and glorify in the evening and the early morning.'
3:42  And when the angels said, 'O Mary! Indeed, God chose you and purified you and chose you over the women of the worlds.
3:43  O Mary! Be obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow.'
3:44  That is some of the information of the unseen, We inspire it to you. And you were not with them when they threw their pens, which of them should be responsible for Mary. And you were not with them when they disputed.
3:45  When the angels said, 'O Mary! Indeed, God gives you glad tidings of a word from Him; his name is the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary; notable in the world and the hereafter; and among those who are brought near.
3:46  And he will speak to mankind in the cradle and in maturity; and among the righteous.'
3:47  She said, 'My Lord! How will there be for me a boy, and a mortal did not touch me?' He said, 'Thus God creates what He wills. When He decides an affair, then He only says to it, 'Be,' then it is.
3:48  And He will teach him the book and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel;
3:49  And a messenger to the children of Israel: "That I, certainly, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord that I, I create for you from the clay like the form of the bird, then I blow in it, then it becomes a bird with the permission of God; and I heal the blind from birth and the leper; and I give the dead life with the permission of God; and I inform you of what you consume and what you store in your houses; indeed, in that surely is a sign for you, if you are believers.
3:50  And a verifier for what is before me of the Torah; and that I may make lawful to you some of that which was forbidden to you; and I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, so fear God and obey me.
3:51  Indeed, God is my Lord and your Lord, so serve Him, this is a straight way."'
3:52  Then when Jesus perceived disbelief from them, he said, 'Who are my helpers to God?' The disciples said, 'We are the helpers of God; we have believed in God; and bear witness because we are submitters.
3:53  Our Lord! We have believed in what you sent down and we have followed the messenger, so write us with the witnesses.'
3:54  And they plotted and God plotted and God is the best of plotters.
3:55  When God said, 'O Jesus! Indeed, I will cause you to die and raise you to Me and purify you of those who disbelieved and make those who followed you above those who disbelieved to the Day of Resurrection, then to Me is your return, then I will judge between you concerning what you used to disagree about.
3:56  Then as for those who disbelieved, then I will punish them, a severe punishment in the world and the hereafter; and there are no helpers for them.'
3:57  And as for those who believed and did the good works, then He will pay them their rewards in full. And God does not love the wrongdoers.
3:58  That, We recite it to you, some of the signs and the wise reminder.
3:59  Indeed, the similitude of Jesus with God is like the similitude of Adam. He created him from dust, then He said to it, 'Be,' then it is.
3:60  The truth from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters.
3:61  So whoever argued with you concerning it after what came to you of the knowledge, then say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then let us supplicate, then let us place the curse of God on the liars.'
3:62  Indeed this, surely, it is the true story. And there is no god except God. And indeed, God, surely, He is the Mighty, the Wise.
3:63  So if they turn away, then indeed, God knows the evil-doers.
3:64  Say, 'O people of the book! Come to an equal word between us and you that we will not serve except God; and we will not associate anything with Him; and some of us will not take some as lords besides God,' then if they turn away, then say, 'Bear witness because we are submitters.'
3:65  O people of the book! Why do you argue concerning Abraham while the Torah was not sent down, and the Gospel, except after him? So will you not become intelligent?
3:66  Here you are, these, you argued concerning what you have knowledge of, so why do you argue concerning what you have no knowledge of? And God knows and you, you do not know.
3:67  Abraham was not in Judaism nor in Christianity, but he was upright, a submitter; and he was not among the idolaters.
3:68  Indeed, the people most worthy of Abraham are surely those who followed him and this, the prophet, and those who believed; and God is the patron of the believers.
3:69  A party of the people of the book wished if they could cause you to go astray and they do not cause to go astray except themselves and they do not perceive.
3:70  O people of the book! Why do you disbelieve in the signs of God while you bear witness?
3:71  O people of the book! Why do you clothe the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you, you know?
3:72  And a party of the people of the book said, 'Believe in that which was sent down to those who believed at the beginning of the day and disbelieve at its end, perhaps they may return;
3:73  And do not believe except one who has followed your religion.' Say, 'Indeed, the guidance is the guidance of God, that one is given the like of what was given to you.’ Or they argue with you in the presence of your Lord? Say: 'Indeed, the grace is in the hand of God, He gives it to whom He wills.’ And God is immense, knowing.
3:74  He specially favours with His mercy whom He wills; and God is the possessor of great grace.
3:75  And among the people of the book is one who if you trust him with a quintar, he will render it to you; and among them is one who if you trust him with a dinar, he will not render it to you except you persevere in standing over him. That is because they said, 'There is no way against us concerning the illiterate ones;' and they say the lie against God while they, they know.
3:76  Nay, whoever fulfilled his covenant and feared, then indeed, God loves those who fear.
3:77  Indeed, those who sell the covenant of God and their oaths for a little price, those, there is no share for them in the hereafter; and God will not speak to them nor look at them on the Day of Resurrection; and He will not purify them; and for them is painful punishment.
3:78  And indeed, among them surely is a party who twist their tongues with the book, that you may think it is from the book and it is not from the book; and they say, 'It is from God,' and it is not from God; and they say the lie against God while they, they know.
3:79  It is not for a mortal that God should give him the book and the wisdom and the prophethood, then he should say to the people: 'Be servants for me besides God,' but, 'Be rabbis because you used to teach the book and because you used to study.'
3:80  And he would not command you to take the angels and the prophets as lords. Would he command you with disbelief after you are submitters?
3:81  And when God took the covenant of the prophets, 'Surely, what I gave you of a book and wisdom, then a messenger came to you, a verifier for what is with you, surely, you will definitely believe in him and surely, you will definitely help him.' He said, 'Have you affirmed and taken My covenant on that condition?' They said, 'We have affirmed.' He said, 'Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.'
3:82  So whoever turns away after that, then those, they are the disobedient.
3:83  So do they seek other than the religion of God? While to Him has submitted whoever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly and unwillingly, and to Him they will be returned.
3:84  Say, 'We have believed in God, and what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes and what was given to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any one of them. And we are submitters to Him.'
3:85  And whoever seeks other than the submission for a religion, then it will not be accepted from him; and he, in the hereafter, will be among the losers.
3:86  How will God guide people who disbelieved after their faith? And they testified that the messenger is true and the clear proofs came to them. And God does not guide the wrongdoing people.
3:87  Those, their recompense is that upon them is the curse of God and the angels and mankind all together,
3:88  To dwell forever in it. The punishment will not be lightened for them, and they, they will not be given respite.
3:89  Except those who repented after that and reformed, then indeed, God is forgiving, compassionate.
3:90  Indeed, those who disbelieved after their faith, then they increased in disbelief, their repentance will not be accepted, and those, they are those who err.
3:91  Indeed, those who disbelieved and died while they are disbelievers, then the filling of the earth with gold will not be accepted from any one of them, even if he ransoms himself with it. Those, for them is painful punishment; and there are no helpers for them.
3:92  You will not attain righteousness until you spend of what you love. And what you spend of a thing, then indeed, God knows it.
3:93  All the food was lawful for the children of Israel except what Israel denied himself before that the Torah was sent down. Say, 'So bring the Torah, then recite it, if you are truthful.'
3:94  So whoever forged the lie against God after that, then those, they are the wrongdoers.
3:95  Say, 'God spoke the truth, so follow the religion of Abraham, upright; and he was not among the idolaters.'
3:96  Indeed, the first house established for mankind is surely the one at Bakkah, blessed and guidance for the worlds.
3:97  In it are signs, clear proofs; the station of Abraham, and whoever enters it is safe. And for God upon mankind is the pilgrimage of the house, whoever is able in way to it. And whoever disbelieved, then indeed, God is free of need from the worlds.
3:98  Say, 'O people of the book! Why do you disbelieve in the signs of God? And God is a witness over what you do.'
3:99  Say, 'O people of the book! Why do you hinder from the way of God one who has believed, seeking crookedness in it, while you are witnesses? And God is not heedless of what you do.'
3:100  O those who believed! If you obey a party of those who were given the book, they will return you to disbelievers after your faith.
3:101  And how can you disbelieve while you, the signs of God are recited to you and among you is His messenger? And whoever takes tight hold of God, then certainly, he has been guided to a straight way.
3:102  O those who believed! Fear God truly His fearing and definitely do not die except while you are submitters.
3:103  And take tight hold of the rope of God all together and do not separate; and remember the favour of God upon you, when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, then you became brothers by His favour; and you were by an edge of a pit of the fire, then He rescued you from it. Thus God makes His signs clear for you, perhaps you may be guided;
3:104  And let there be among you a nation calling to the good and bidding the good and forbidding from the bad; and those, they are the prosperous.
3:105  And do not be like those who separated and disagreed after the clear proofs came to them, and those, for them is great punishment.
3:106  On the day faces will become white and faces will become black, then as for those whose faces became black, 'You disbelieved after your faith? So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve.'
3:107  And as for those whose faces became white, then in the mercy of God; they will dwell forever in it.
3:108  Those are the signs of God, We recite them to you with the truth; and God does not desire injustice for the worlds.
3:109  And for God is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; and to God the affairs will be returned.
3:110  You are a good nation brought forth for mankind. You bid the good and you forbid from the bad and you believe in God. And if the people of the book had believed, surely, it would have been better for them. Among them are the believers; and most of them are the disobedient.
3:111  They will not harm you except an annoyance; and if they fight you, they will turn the backs to you, then they will not be helped.
3:112  Humiliation is struck on them wherever they are found, except for a rope from God and a rope from mankind. And they returned with anger of God. And poverty is struck on them. That is because they, they used to disbelieve in the signs of God and they kill the prophets without right. That is because they rebelled and they used to transgress.
3:113  They are not equal. Among the people of the book is an existing nation, they recite the signs of God in the period of the night and they, they prostrate.
3:114  They believe in God and the Last Day and they bid the good and they forbid from the bad and they hasten to the good works; and those are among the righteous.
3:115  And what they do of good, then they will not be denied it; and God knows those who fear.
3:116  Indeed, those who disbelieved their wealth will not avail them nor their children against God anything; and those are the fellows of the fire, they will dwell forever in it.
3:117  The similitude of what they spend in this, the worldly life, is like the similitude of a wind in which is cold, it hit the tilth of people who wronged their souls, then it destroyed it. And God wronged them not, but they wrong their souls.
3:118  O those who believed! Do not take an intimate friend besides you. They will not be remiss in confusing you. They loved what distressed you. Certainly, the hatred has become apparent from their mouths; and what their breasts conceal is greater. Certainly, We have made the signs clear for you, if you will become intelligent.
3:119  Here you are, those, you love them, and they do not love you; and you believe in the book, all of it. And when they meet you, they say, 'We have believed,' and when they are alone, they bite the fingertips against you from the rage. Say, 'Die in your rage. Indeed, God knows what the breasts own.’
3:120  If good touches you, it is evil to them, and if evil befalls you, they rejoice at it; and if you are patient and fear, their plot will not harm you anything. Indeed, God encompasses what they do.
3:121  And when you left early from your family to settle the believers in sitting-places for the fight; and God is hearing, knowing.
3:122  When two parties among you were about to become cowardly and God was their patron and on God then let the believers rely.
3:123  And surely, certainly God helped you at Badr; and you were lowly, so fear God, perhaps you may give thanks.
3:124  When you said to the believers, 'Will it not suffice you that your Lord reinforces you with three thousand of the angels sent down?’
3:125  Nay, if you are patient and fear and they come to you immediately, this your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand of the angels marking.
3:126  And God made it not except glad tidings for you and that your hearts may be at ease with it. And the help is not except from God, the Mighty, the Wise.
3:127  That He may cut off a part of those who disbelieved or suppress them, so they turn back disappointed.
3:128  Nothing is for you of the affair, whether He relents on them or He punishes them, so indeed, they are wrongdoers.
3:129  And for God is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills; and God is forgiving, compassionate.
3:130  O those who believed! Do not consume usury doubling many times. And fear God, perhaps you may prosper.
3:131  And fear the fire, the one which has been prepared for the disbelievers.
3:132  And obey God and the messenger, perhaps you may obtain mercy.
3:133  And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden, its breadth is the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who fear,
3:134  Those who spend in prosperity and distress, and those who suppress rage, and those who pardon mankind; and God loves the good-doers.
3:135  And those who when they do an immorality or they wrong their souls, they remember God, then seek forgiveness for their sins, and who forgives the sins except God? And they do not persist in what they did while they, they know.
3:136  Those, their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which the rivers flow, to dwell forever in it; and excellent is the reward of the workers.
3:137  Certainly, courses have passed away before you, so travel in the earth, then see how the end of those who say it is a lie was.
3:138  This is clear speech for mankind and guidance and admonition for those who fear.
3:139  And do not lose courage and do not grieve; and you are the superior, if you are believers.
3:140  If a wound touches you, then certainly, a wound like it has touched the people; and those are the days, We alternate them between mankind; and that God may know those who believed and take witnesses from you; and God does not love the wrongdoers.
3:141  And that God may assay those who believed and blot out the disbelievers.
3:142  Or you thought that you would enter the garden? And when God knows those who strive among you and He knows the patient.
3:143  And surely, certainly you used to wish for death before, to meet it. So certainly, you have seen it and you, you look.
3:144  And Muhammad is not except a messenger. Certainly, the messengers have passed away before him. So if he dies or he is killed, will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his two heels, then he will not harm God anything; and soon God will recompense the thankful.
3:145  And it is not for a soul to die, except with the permission of God, in a book fixed in time; and whoever desires the reward of the world, We give him of it; and whoever desires the reward of the hereafter, We give him of it, and soon We will recompense the thankful.
3:146  And how many a prophet with him fought many rabbis, then they did not lose courage for what befell them in the way of God and they did not become weak and they did not submit; and God loves the patient.
3:147  And their speech was not except to say, 'Our Lord, forgive us our sins and our extravagance in our affairs, and make firm our feet, and help us against the disbelieving people.'
3:148  Then God gave them the reward of the world and good of the reward of the hereafter; and God loves the good-doers.
3:149  O those who believed! If you obey those who disbelieved, they will send you back on your heels, then you will turn back losers.
3:150  Nay, God is your sovereign and He is the best of helpers.
3:151  Soon We will cast terror in the hearts of those who disbelieved because they associated with God what He did not send down authority for; and their refuge is the fire and evil is the abode of the wrongdoers.
3:152  And surely, certainly God fulfilled His promise to you, when you routed them with His permission until when you became cowardly, and you contended with one another concerning the affair, and you rebelled after He showed you what you love. Among you is one who desires the world, and among you is one who desires the hereafter. Then He turned you away from them to test you; and surely, certainly He has pardoned you. And God is a possessor of grace for the believers.
3:153  When you ascended and paid no attention to anyone and the messenger called you concerning another of you. Then He rewarded you with grief for grief, so that you may not grieve over what escaped you nor what befell you. And God is aware of what you do.
3:154  Then He sent down security to you after the grief, drowsiness covering a party of you, and a party, certainly their souls disquieted them, thinking other than the truth of God, the thought of the time of ignorance. They say, 'Is there anything for us of the affair?' Say, 'Indeed, the affair, all of it, is for God.' They conceal in their souls what they do not disclose to you. They say, 'If anything of the affair was for us, we would not have been killed here.' Say, 'If you were in your houses, surely those against whom the killing was written would surely have come forth to their beds.' And that God may test what is in your breasts and that He may assay what is in your hearts. And God knows what the breasts own.
3:155  Indeed, those who turned away among you on the day the two troops met, the devil only sought to make them slip for some of what they earned. And surely, certainly God has pardoned them; indeed, God is forgiving, clement.
3:156  O those who believed! Do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they travel in the earth or are warring, 'If they had been with us, they would not have died and they would not have been killed.' That God may make that regret in their hearts. And God gives life and He causes death; and God sees what you do.
3:157  And surely if you are killed in the way of God or you die, surely, forgiveness from God and mercy are better than what they collect;
3:158  And surely, if you die or you are killed, surely, to God you will be gathered.
3:159  So because of mercy from God you were gentle to them. And if you had been rude, the harsh of heart, surely, they would have dispersed from around you. So pardon them and seek forgiveness for them and consult them in the affair, then when you decide, then rely on God; indeed, God loves those who rely.
3:160  If God helps you, then there is no overcoming you; and if He forsakes you, then who is that, the one who will help you after Him? And on God then let the believers rely.
3:161  And it is not for a prophet to embezzle; and whoever embezzles will bring what he embezzled on the Day of Resurrection, then each soul will be paid in full what it earned, and they, they will not be wronged.
3:162  So is one who pursued the pleasure of God like one who returned with displeasure of God and whose refuge is hell and evil is the destination?
3:163  They are degrees with God; and God sees what they do.
3:164  Surely, certainly God bestowed favour on the believers when He sent a messenger among them from themselves to recite to them His signs and to purify them and to teach them the book and wisdom, even though they were before surely in clear error.
3:165  Or when a calamity befalls you, certainly, you have hit two likes of it, you say, 'How is this?' Say, 'It is from your souls.’ Indeed, God is powerful over everything.
3:166  And what befell you on the day the two troops met, then with the permission of God; and that He may know the believers.
3:167  And that He may know those who are hypocrites; and it was said to them, 'Come, fight in the way of God or repel,' they said, 'If we knew combat surely we would have followed you.' They were nearer on that day to disbelief than them to the faith. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts; and God knows best what they hide.
3:168  Those who said of their brothers, while they sat, 'If they had obeyed us they would not have been killed.' Say, 'Then avert death from yourselves, if you are truthful.'
3:169  And definitely do not think those who were killed in the way of God are dead. Nay, alive, with their Lord, provided for.
3:170  Rejoicing at what God gave them of His grace, and they rejoice at those who are behind them who did not join them that there is no fear upon them, and they, they will not grieve;
3:171  Rejoicing at favour from God and grace; and that God does not waste the reward of the believers,
3:172  Those who responded to God and the messenger after the wound befell them; for those who did good among them and feared is great reward.
3:173  Those to whom the people said, 'Indeed, the people certainly have gathered together for you, so fear them.' But then it increased them in faith and they said, 'God is sufficient for us and excellent is the trustee.'
3:174  Then they returned with favour from God and grace; evil did not touch them; and they pursued the pleasure of God; and God is a possessor of great grace.
3:175  Only that, the devil, he frightens his patrons, so do not fear them, and fear Me, if you are believers.
3:176  And do not let those who hasten to disbelief grieve you; indeed they, they will not harm God anything. God desires to not make a portion for them in the hereafter; and for them is great punishment.
3:177  Indeed, those who bought disbelief with faith will not harm God anything; and for them is painful punishment.
3:178  And definitely let not those who disbelieved think that We only give respite to them is good for their souls. We only give respite to them that they may increase in sin; and for them is shameful punishment.
3:179  God would not leave the believers upon what you are upon until He distinguishes the bad from the good. And God would not acquaint you with the unseen, but God chooses of His messengers whom He wills. So believe in God and His messengers. And if you believe and fear, then for you is a great reward.
3:180  And definitely let not those who are stingy with what God gave them of His grace think it is good for them. Nay, it is evil for them. Soon they will be encircled with what they were stingy with on the Day of Resurrection. And for God is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth; and God is aware of what you do.
3:181  Surely, certainly, God heard the speech of those who said, 'Indeed, God is needy and we are rich.' Soon We will write what they said and their killing the prophets without right and We will say, 'Taste the punishment of the fire.'
3:182  That is for what your hands have sent forward; and that God is not unjust to the servants,
3:183  Those who said, 'Indeed, God has made a covenant with us that we should not believe a messenger until he comes to us with a sacrifice which the fire consumes.' Say, 'Certainly messengers before me came to you with the clear proofs and with that which you said, so why have you killed them, if you are truthful?'
3:184  So if they call you a liar, then certainly, messengers before you were called liars; they came with the clear proofs and the scriptures and the illuminating book.
3:185  Every soul will taste of death and you will only be paid your rewards in full on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is moved away from the fire and made to enter the garden, then certainly, he is successful; and the worldly life is not except the provision of deception.
3:186  You will surely, definitely be tested in your wealth and your souls; and you will surely, definitely hear much annoyance from those who were given the book before you and from those who associated partners, and if you are patient and fear, then indeed, that is of the determination of affairs.
3:187  And when God took the covenant of those who were given the book: 'You will surely, definitely make it clear for mankind and do not conceal it.' Then they threw it away behind their backs and they sold it for a little price, so evil is what they buy.
3:188  Definitely do not think those who rejoice at what they have done and love to be praised for what they did not do, so definitely do not think they are in a place of security from the punishment; and for them is painful punishment.
3:189  And for God is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and God is powerful over everything.
3:190  Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of the night and the day are surely signs for the possessors of understanding,
3:191  Those who remember God standing and sitting and on their sides; and they think of the creation of the heavens and the earth. 'Our Lord! You have not created this in vain. Glory be to you, so guard us from the punishment of the fire.
3:192  Our Lord! Indeed You, whoever You make to enter the fire, then certainly, You have disgraced him; and there are no helpers for the wrongdoers.
3:193  Our Lord! Indeed we, we heard a caller calling to the faith that, 'Believe in your Lord,' so we believed. Our Lord! So forgive us our sins and cover from us our evil deeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
3:194  Our Lord! And give us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection; indeed, You, You will not break the promise.'
3:195  Then their Lord responded to them that, 'I, I do not waste the work of a worker among you, of male or female, some of you are from some. So those who emigrated and were driven out of their homes and were annoyed in My way and fought and were killed, surely, I will definitely cover from them their evil deeds; and surely I will definitely make them enter gardens beneath which the rivers flow.' A reward from God; and God, with Him is the good of the reward.
3:196  Definitely do not let the going to and fro of those who disbelieved in the lands deceive you,
3:197  A little enjoyment, then their refuge is hell; and evil is the bed.
3:198  But those who feared their Lord, for them are gardens beneath which the rivers flow, to dwell forever in it, an entertainment from God; and what is with God is better for the righteous.
3:199  And indeed, among the people of the book surely is one who believes in God and what was sent down to you and what was sent down to them, humble to God, they do not sell the signs of God for a little price. Those, for them is their reward with their Lord; indeed, God is the swift in reckoning.
3:200  O those who believed! Be patient and vie in patience and move into fighting positions and fear God, perhaps you may prosper.
