10:1  Alif.Lam.Ra. Those are the signs of the Wise Book.
10:2  Is it a wonder to mankind that We inspired to a man from them that, 'Warn mankind and give glad tidings to those who believe that they have a true footing with their Lord'? The disbelievers say, 'Indeed, this is surely a clear magician.'
10:3  Indeed, your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days; then He made for the throne, to govern the affair; there is no intercessor, except after His permission. That is God, your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember?
10:4  To Him is your return all together. God's promise is true; indeed, He begins the creation then He repeats it, that He may recompense those who believe and do good works with justice; but those who disbelieve, for them is a drink of hot water, and painful punishment, for that they disbelieved.
10:5  He is the one who made the sun a light, and the moon a light, and decreed for it mansions, that you may know the number of the years and the reckoning; God did not create that except with the truth. He details the signs to a people who know.
10:6  Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day, and what God has created in the heavens and the earth, are signs to a people who fear.
10:7  Indeed, those who do not hope for Our meeting, and are pleased with the worldly life, and are at ease with it, and those who, they are heedless of Our signs,
10:8  Those, their abode is the fire for what they have earned.
10:9  Indeed, those who believe and do good works, their Lord guides them by their faith; beneath them shall rivers flow in the Gardens of pleasure.
10:10  Their call therein shall be, 'Glory be to You, O God.' And their salutation therein shall be, 'Peace.' And the end of their call shall be, 'Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.'
10:11  And if God should hasten for mankind the bad as they would hasten the good, their term would surely be fulfilled to them. But We will leave those who do not hope for Our meeting in their immoderation, blindly wandering.
10:12  And when distress touches man, he calls Us to his side or sitting or standing; but when We have removed from him his distress, he passes on as though he had not called on Us to a distress that touched him. Thus is beautified to the extravagant what they were doing.
10:13  And verily, We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong, and there came to them their messengers with the clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus We reward the sinful people.
10:14  Then We made you vicegerents in the earth after them, that We may see how you do.
10:15  And when Our signs are recited to them, clear proofs, those who hope not for Our meeting say, 'Bring a Quran other than this; or change it.' Say, 'It is not for me to change it of my own accord; I do not follow except what is inspired to me; indeed, I fear, if I rebel against my Lord, the punishment of a great day.'
10:16  Say, 'If God had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. Verily, I have tarried a lifetime amongst you before it; do you not then understand?'
10:17  And who is more unjust than he who forges against God a lie, or says His signs are lies? Indeed, the sinners shall not prosper.
10:18  And they serve beside God what neither harms them nor profits them, and they say, 'These are our intercessors with God.' Say, 'Do you inform God of what He does not know in the heavens and the earth? Glory be to Him and high is He above what they associate.
10:19  And mankind was not except one nation, then they disagreed; and if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, surely it would have been decided between them concerning that in which they disagree.
10:20  And they say, 'Why is a sign not sent down on him from his Lord?' So say, 'The unseen is only for God; so wait, indeed, I am with you of those who wait.'
10:21  And when We have let mankind taste mercy after distress has touched them, lo, they have a plot against Our signs. Say, God is more swift in plotting.' Indeed, Our messengers write down what you plot.
10:22  He is the one who makes you travel in the land and the sea, until when you are in the ships - and they sail with them with a good wind, and they rejoice in it, there comes to it a violent wind, and there comes to them the wave from every place, and they think that they are encompassed with them; they call on God, sincere in religion to Him, 'If you save us from this, we will surely be of those who thank.'
10:23  But when He has saved them, lo, they are insolent in the earth without right. O mankind! Your insolence is only against yourselves; the provision of the worldly life, then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you have done.
10:24  The likeness of the worldly life is only like water which We send down from the sky, and the plants of the earth, from which men and cattle eat are mingled with it; until when the earth takes its gilding and is adorned, and its people think that they have power over it. Our command comes to it by night or day, and We make it mown down - as though it had not yesterday been rich. - Thus We detail the signs to a people who reflect.
10:25  And God calls to the abode of peace, and guides whom He wills to the straight path.
10:26  For those who do good is the best and an increase. And neither darkness nor abasement shall cover their faces. Those are the fellows of the Garden, they shall dwell in it for ever.
10:27  And those who have earned evil deeds, the recompense of an evil deed is like it; and abasement shall cover them. They shall not have any defender from God; as though their faces were veiled with pieces from the darkness of night; those are the fellows of the fire, they shall dwell in it for ever.
10:28  And the day We gather them all together then We will say to those who associated partners, 'Your place, you and your partners.' And We will part them; and their partners will say, 'Not us you were serving.
10:29  And God sufficed for a witness between us and you, that we were certainly heedless of your service.'
10:30  There every soul shall test what it did previously; and they shall be returned to God, their sovereign, the True, and there shall go astray from them what they were forging.
10:31  Say, 'Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who has power over hearing and sight? And who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living? And who governs the affair?' And they will say, ' God.' Then say, 'Do you not then fear?'
10:32  That then is God, your true Lord. And what is there after the truth but error? How then are you turned away?
10:33  Thus is the word of your Lord proved true upon those who disobeyed, that they do not believe.
10:34  Say, 'Is there of your associates who originates creation, then repeats it?' Say, 'God originates creation, then repeats it. How then are you deluded?
10:35  Say, 'Is there of your associates who guides to the truth?' Say, 'God guides to the truth.' Is then He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who guides not except he is guided? What ails you then, how do you judge?
10:36  And most of them follow only conjecture; indeed, conjecture does not avail against the truth at all; indeed, God knows what they do.
10:37  And this Quran could not have been forged apart from God; but it verifies that which was before it, and details the Book, - there is no doubt in it, - from the Lord of the worlds.
10:38  Or they say, 'He has forged it.' Say, 'Then bring a chapter like it, and call whoever you can besides God, if you are truthful.'
10:39  Nay, they call that a lie, the knowledge of which they cannot encompass and its interpretation has not yet come to them; Thus denied those before them, then see how was the end of the unjust.
10:40  And of them is he who believes in it; and of them is he who does not believe in it; and your Lord knows best of the corrupters.
10:41  But if they call you liar, then say, 'I have my work, and you have your work; you are clear of what I work, and I am clear of what you work.'
10:42  And of them are those who listen to you, but can you make the deaf to hear, though they do not understand?
10:43  And of them are those who look at you, but can you guide the blind, though they do not see?
10:44  Indeed, God does not wrong mankind at all; but mankind wrong themselves.
10:45  And the day He will gather them, as though they had not tarried except an hour of the day, they shall know each other. Lost are those who called the meeting with God a lie, and were not guided.
10:46  And whether We show you some of that which We promise them or We take you in death, then to Us is their return, then God is witness over what they do.
10:47  And for every nation, a messenger; and when their messenger comes, it is decided between them with justice, and they are not wronged.
10:48  And they say, 'When is this promise, if you are truthful?'
10:49  Say, 'I have no power over harm nor profit to myself, except what God wills. For every nation is a term; when their term comes, then they cannot delay it for an hour nor bring it on.'
10:50  Say, 'Have you seen? If His punishment comes to you by night or by day, what of it would the sinners seek to hasten?'
10:51  Is it then when it has fallen you will believe in it? Now? And certainly you were seeking to hasten it.
10:52  Then it shall be said to those who have done wrong, 'Taste the punishment of eternity. Are you recompensed except for what you used to earn?'
10:53  And they ask you to inform, 'Is it true?' Say, 'Yes, by my Lord. Indeed, it is surely true, and you cannot escape.'
10:54  And if every soul that has done wrong had whatever is in the earth, it would give it as a ransom. They will display repentance when they see the punishment; and it shall be decided between them with justice, and they shall not be wronged.
10:55  Lo, indeed, what is in the heavens and the earth is for God. Lo, indeed, the promise of God is true. But most of them do not know.
10:56  He gives life and gives death, and to Him you will be returned.
10:57  O mankind! Verily there has come to you a warning from your Lord, and a healing for what is in the breasts, and a guidance and a mercy to the believers.
10:58  Say, 'In the grace of God and in His mercy, so in that let them rejoice.' It is better than what they collect.
10:59  Say, 'Have you seen what God has sent down for you of provision, and you have made of it unlawful and lawful?' Say, 'Does God permit you, or do you forge against God?'
10:60  And what will those who forge the lie against God think on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, God is surely Lord of grace to mankind, but most of them do not give thanks.
10:61  And you are not in any affair, nor do you recite of it any Quran, nor do you do any work, except We are witnesses over you when you are engaged in it; nor does the weight of an atom escape from your Lord in earth or in heaven; nor is there smaller than that or greater, but in a clear Book.
10:62  Lo, indeed, the patrons of God, no fear shall be upon them nor shall they grieve, -
10:63  Those who believe and fear, -
10:64  For them are glad tidings in the worldly life and in the hereafter; there is no change to the words of God. That, it is the great success.
10:65  And let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, the glory belongs altogether to God; He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
10:66  Lo, indeed, to God belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is in the earth. And those who call on other than God do not follow associates. They follow not except conjecture, and they do not except lie.
10:67  He is the one who made for you the night, that you may rest in it, and the day to see; indeed, in that surely are signs to a people who hear.
10:68  They say, 'God has taken a son.' Glory be to Him. He is the Rich. His is whatever is in the heavens, and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority for this. Do you say against God what you do not know?
10:69  Say, 'Indeed, those who forge against God the lie shall not prosper.'
10:70  A provision in the world, then to Us is their return, then We will make them taste the severe punishment for that they disbelieved.
10:71  Recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, 'O my people! If my stay is grievous on you, and my reminding of the signs of God, then on God do I rely. So collect your affairs and your associates; then let not your affair be in doubt for you; then decide unto me, and do not give me respite.
10:72  And if you turn away, then I have not asked you for any reward; my reward is only on God, and I am commanded to be of those who submit.'
10:73  But they called him a liar; so We saved him, and those who were with him in the ship; and We made them vicegerents, and We drowned those who said Our signs were lies; then see how was the end of those who were warned.
10:74  Then We raised up after him messengers to their people, and they came to them with the clear proofs; but they were not to believe in what they had called a lie before. Thus do We set a stamp on the hearts of the transgressors.
10:75  Then We raised up after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our signs; but they were big with pride, and were a sinful people;
10:76  And when the truth came to them from Us, they said, 'Indeed, this is surely clear magic.'
10:77  Moses said, 'Do you say to the truth when it comes to you? Is this magic? But magicians shall not prosper.'
10:78  They said, 'Have you come to us to turn us away from what we found our fathers upon, and you two may have grandeur in the land? And we will not believe you two.'
10:79  And Pharaoh said, 'Bring me every knowing magician.'
10:80  And when the magicians came, Moses said to them, 'Throw down what you have to throw.'
10:81  And when they threw down, Moses said, 'What you have brought is magic. Indeed, God will soon make it vain; indeed, God rights not the work of those who do corruption.
10:82  And God verifies the truth by His words, though the sinners are averse.'
10:83  But none believed Moses, except offspring of his people, for fear of Pharaoh and their chiefs; lest he should afflict them. And indeed, Pharaoh was high in the earth, and indeed, he was of the extravagant.
10:84  And Moses said, 'O my people! If you believe in God, then rely on Him, if you are those who submit.'
10:85  They said, 'Upon God do we rely. Our Lord! Do not make us a trial for the wrong doing people.
10:86  And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.'
10:87  And We inspired to Moses and his brother, 'Settle for your people in Egypt houses; and make your houses a direction of prayer; and be steadfast in prayer, and give glad tidings to the believers.'
10:88  And Moses said, 'Our Lord! Indeed, You have given Pharaoh and his chiefs adornment and wealth in the worldly life; our Lord! That they may err from Your way. Our Lord! Obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so they do not believe until they see the painful punishment.'
10:89  He said, 'Verily, your call is answered; so go straight you two, and do not follow the way of those who do not know.'
10:90  And We brought the children of Israel across the sea; and Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and enmity, until when the drowning overtook him, he said, 'I believe that there is no god but He in whom the children of Israel believe; and I am of the Muslims.'
10:91  'Now? And verily, you rebelled before and you were of those who do corruption;
10:92  So today We will save you in your body, that you may be a sign to whoever is behind you, and indeed, many of mankind are surely heedless of Our signs.'
10:93  And verily, We settled the children of Israel a true settlement, and We provided them of the good things; and they did not disagree until the knowledge came to them. Indeed, your Lord shall decide between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which they were disagreeing.
10:94  And if you are in doubt of what We have sent down to you, then ask those who read the Book before you; indeed, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
10:95  And do not be of those who say the signs of God are lies, then you will be of those who lose.
10:96  Indeed, those upon whom your Lord's word is proved true will not believe,
10:97  Even though every sign comes to them, until they see the painful punishment.
10:98  And if it were not so, a city would have believed and its faith would have profited it. Except the people of Jonah; when they believed We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life, and We gave them provision for a time.
10:99  And if your Lord had willed, whoever is in the earth surely would have believed, all of them, all together; will you then force mankind until they become believers?
10:100  It is not for a soul to believe except by the permission of God; and He puts uncleanness on those who have no sense.
10:101  Say, 'Behold what is in the heavens and the earth.' But signs and warners do not avail a people who do not believe.
10:102  So do they wait except for the like of the days of those who passed away before them?' Say, 'Then wait. Indeed, I am with you of those who wait.'
10:103  Then We will save Our messengers and those who believe; thus is it due on us to save the believers.
10:104  Say, 'O mankind! If you are in doubt of my religion, then I do not serve those whom you serve besides God; but I serve God, who causes you to die. And I am commanded to be of the believers.'
10:105  And, 'Make steadfast your face to the religion, upright, and do not be of the idolaters;
10:106  And call not, besides God, on what can neither profit you nor harm you. But if you do, indeed, you are then of the unjust.'
10:107  And if God touches you with harm, then there is none to remove it except He; and if He desires good for you, then there is none to repel His grace; He makes it fall on whom He wills of His servants; and He is the Forgiving, the Compassionate.
10:108  Say, 'O mankind! Verily the truth has come to you from your Lord. And he who is guided, then he is guided only for his soul; and he who errs, then he errs only against it; and I am not a trustee over you.'
10:109  And follow what is inspired to you, and be patient until God judges, and He is the best of the wise ones.
