69:1  The Reality.
69:2  What is the Reality?
69:3  And what will make you know what the Reality is?
69:4  Thamud and 'Ad called the sudden calamity a lie;
69:5  So as for Thamud, then they were destroyed with the thunderbolt;
69:6  And as for 'Ad, then they were destroyed with an immoderate, intensely cold wind.
69:7  He subjected it against them seven nights and eight days inauspiciously. And you see the people in it prostrate as if they were trunks of palm trees fallen down,
69:8  And can you see any remnant of them?
69:9  And Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities committed sins,
69:10  And they rebelled against the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them, an exceeding seizing.
69:11  Indeed, when the water surged, We carried you in the sailing ship,
69:12  To make it a memorial for you, and that the retentive ear might hold it.
69:13  And when the horn is blown in, one blast,
69:14  And the earth and the mountains are borne away and both are crushed, one crushing;
69:15  Then on that day shall the inevitable happen;
69:16  And the sky split asunder, so it is on that day unsound,
69:17  And the angels on its sides, and above them on that day shall eight bear the throne of your Lord.
69:18  On that day you shall be exposed, no secret of yours shall be concealed.
69:19  Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here! Read my book.
69:20  Indeed, I thought that I should meet my reckoning.'
69:21  And he is in a pleasing life,
69:22  In a lofty garden,
69:23  Its clusters of fruits near.
69:24  'Eat and drink with good digestion, for what you did long ago, in the past days.'
69:25  But as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say, 'O, would that I had not received my book
69:26  And knew not what is my account.
69:27  O would that it had been the end.
69:28  My wealth has not availed me.
69:29  My authority has perished from me.'
69:30  'Take him and fetter him,
69:31  Then in Hell broil him.
69:32  Then in a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him.
69:33  Indeed, he did not believe in God, the Great,
69:34  And he did not urge on the feeding of the poor.
69:35  So he has not here today any warm friend,
69:36  Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds,
69:37  None will eat it except the sinners.'
69:38  And I swear by what you see
69:39  And what you do not see,
69:40  Indeed, it is surely the speech of a noble messenger;
69:41  And it is not the speech of a poet, - little is what you believe.
69:42  And it is not the speech of a soothsayer, little is what you remember.
69:43  A revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
69:44  And if he had invented against Us any sayings,
69:45  Certainly We would have seized him by the right hand,
69:46  Then certainly We would have cut from him the aorta;
69:47  And not one of you could have defended him.
69:48  Indeed, it is surely a reminder to those who fear;
69:49  And indeed, We surely know that there are amongst you those who say it is a lie;
69:50  And indeed it is surely a regret upon the disbelievers;
69:51  And indeed, it is surely the truth of certainty.
69:52  So glorify the name of your Lord, the Great.
