70:1  A questioner asked of a punishment, actually occurring,
70:2  To the disbelievers; there is no repeller for it;
70:3  From God, the possessor of the stairways.
70:4  The angels and the spirit ascend to Him in a day, its measure is fifty thousand years.
70:5  So be patient, beautiful patience;
70:6  Indeed, they see it far,
70:7  And We see it near.
70:8  On the day the sky will be like molten brass,
70:9  And the mountains will be like wool,
70:10  And a warm friend will not question a warm friend;
70:11  They will be made to see them, the sinner will wish if he could ransom himself from the punishment of that day with his children,
70:12  And his female companion and his brother,
70:13  And his nearest kinsfolk, the one who sheltered him,
70:14  And whoever is in the earth, all together, then it could save him.
70:15  Not so, indeed, it is a flame,
70:16  Dragging much to the skin of the head,
70:17  Calling him who turned his back and turned away,
70:18  And collected and hoarded.
70:19  Indeed, man was created anxious.
70:20  When the evil touches him, impatient;
70:21  And when the good touches him, refuses to give;
70:22  Except those who pray,
70:23  Those who they remain upon their prayer,
70:24  And those in whose wealth is a known right
70:25  For the one who asks and the one who is denied,
70:26  And those who verify the Day of Judgment,
70:27  And those who they are fearful of the punishment of their Lord;
70:28  Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe;
70:29  And those who they are guardians to their private parts,
70:30  Except for their spouses or what their right hands possess, then indeed, they are not blameworthy;
70:31  Then whoever seeks beyond that, then those, they are the transgressors;
70:32  And those who they are observers of their trusts and their promise,
70:33  And those who they stand with their testimonies,
70:34  And those who they guard over their prayers.
70:35  Those are in gardens, honoured.
70:36  So what ails those who disbelieve, hurrying before you,
70:37  From the right and from the left, in groups?
70:38  Does every man among them desire that he enters a garden of pleasure?
70:39  Not so, indeed We, We created them of what they know.
70:40  And nay, I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests; indeed, We are surely able
70:41  To exchange with better than them, and We are not to be outrun.
70:42  So leave them to plunge into vain discourse and play until they meet their day which they are promised,
70:43  On the day they will come out swiftly from the graves, as if they were hastening to a standard,
70:44  Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the day which they were promised.
