25:1  Blessed is the He Who has revealed the Criterion to His servant so that he may warn all the peoples.
25:2  He unto Whom belongs the (absolute) sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He has not taken to Himself (any) child, nor has He any partner in the sovereignty. He has created everything, and then ordained for it a measure.
25:3  Yet some worship, apart from Him, gods that who cannot create anything but are themselves created. They have no power to hurt or profit themselves. And they have no authority over death, life, or resurrection.
25:4  Those who persistently refuse to Yield to the Truth say: ‘ This Qur’ān is nothing but a calumny which he has invented with the help of others’. Verily, they have brought inequity and falsehood.
25:5  They say: ‘Legends of the ancients, which he has written, and they are dictated to him in the early mornings and evenings’.
25:6  Say: ‘It has been revealed by the One Who has the full knowledge of the secrets of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful ‘.
25:7  They say: ‘What kind of Messenger is this who eats food and goes about in marketplaces?. Why has not an Angel sent down to him to be a herald with him?
25:8  Or (why) has not a treasure been sent down upon him from the heaven? Or why has he not a garden whereof he may eat?" Those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned Faith in favour of their own whims say: ’You follow none other than a man bewitched’.
25:9  See how they set forth parables for you, so they have deviated from the path of truth and are unable to find a way.
25:10  Most Blessed is the One Who, if He willed, He could easily give better than all that - gardens under which rivers flow- and will assign to you mansions.
25:11  In fact, they persistently refuse to acknowledge ( the existence of the Hour (of Reckoning). We have prepared a blazing inferno for those who deny it.
25:12  When it sees them from a distant place, they will hear its fury and its sighing.
25:13  And when they are cast into a narrow place thereof, chained together, they will plead there for destruction.
25:14  Don’t plead today for one destruction, but plead for many.
25:15  Say: ‘Is that (punishment) better or the Eternal Paradise, which has been promised to those who act piously? It will be a reward and a final destination for them.
25:16  Living therein forever, they will have whatever they desire. This is a promise which your Lord has bound Himself to fulfill.
25:17  And on the day when He will gather them together along with those whom they used to worship, other than Allâh, he will ask: ‘Was it you who led my servants astray, or did they themselves deviate from the path of truth?’
25:18  They will say: ‘All Glory Be To You! It would not be appropriate for us to take any guardian besides You. But You make them and their fathers live a life of luxury until they forgot to honor and celebrate Your name. So, now they are doomed to eternal perdition’.
25:19  Thus, those whom you used to worship will give you the lie regarding what you allege. Now you can neither avert (the chastisement), nor find help. And whoever among you willfully persists in yielding to his own whims, We shall make him taste the severe punishment.
25:20  And We didn't send before you any Messengers but that they ate food and went about in the marketplaces. We have made some of you a trial for others. Will you then endure patiently? Verily, Your Lord is Ever All-Seer.
25:21  Those who don’t have hope in meeting Us (in the Hereafter) say: ‘Why are no Angels sent down on us? Or why do we not see our Lord?’ Verily, they are arrogantly proud of themselves, exhibiting lack of respect; rude and discourteous.
25:22  On the day when they see the Angels, there will be no glad tidings for the Ungodly Sinners. And (the Angels) will say: ‘(Al-Jannah has been) prohibited and unreachable (for you)’.
25:23  We will look upon whatever deeds they have done; and We will turn them into scattered dust.
25:24  The companions of Al-Jannah on that day will be in a better lodging and better resting place.
25:25  And (mention) the day when the sky is split open with glittering white clouds, and the Angels are sent down in a spectacular descending.
25:26  The Absolute Sovereignty on that day will be tothe True Merciful (God), and it will be a tough day for those who are spiritually dead and blind.
25:27  On that day the one who has voluntarily and consciously abandoned Faith in favour of his own whims will bite his hands and say: “Oh, would that I had taken a way in the company of the Messenger!
25:28  Ah! Woe betide me! Would that I had not taken such a one for a friend!
25:29  He verily deceived me into going away from the Qur’ān), after it had been revealed to me. There Satan proved himself to be a traitor to man!’
25:30  The Messenger will say: ‘O’ my Lord, most certainly my people have regarded this Qur’ān as something to be ignored’.
25:31  This is how We have made enemies for every Prophet from among the Ungodly Sinners. But Your Lord is sufficient as a Revealer of Truth and a helper (against your enemy).
25:32  Those who are living in spiritual darkness say: ‘Why has not the Qur’ān been revealed to him all at once?’ We send it down in parts so that We may (entrench it in your mind) and strengthen your heart with it. We are revealing it (to you) clearly and progressively.
25:33  And whenever they come to you with a pretext, We provide you with the truth (to refute their pretext), and the best explanation (to raise their awareness).
25:34  Those who will be dragged into Gehenna on their faces will be in the worst condition, and are now the furthest astray (from the path of truth).
25:35  And verily, We gave Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as a minster.
25:36  Then We said: ‘Go both of you to the people who voluntarily and consciously refuse to acknowledge the Revelation Knowledge which We have revealed’. (After warning them not to continue in their perversion), We destroyed them with complete destruction.
25:37  The people of Noah, when they had denied the Messengers, We drowned them and made them a lesson for the people. We have prepared a painful punishment for those who have voluntarily and consciously abandoned Faith in favour of their own whims.
25:38  (We also destroyed the tribes of) ‘Ād, Thamūd and the dwellers of Ar-Rass, as well as many generations between them.
25:39  To each of these We clearly showed Our Signs (of power & glory), and each of them We destroyed completely.
25:40  And verily they have passed by the town on which was showered with the rain of evil. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay! But they have no expectation of being resurrected.
25:41  And whenever they see you, they poke fun at you (and say): "Is this the one whom Allâh has sent as a Messenger?
25:42  He would almost have caused us to do astray from our gods if we had not been faithful to them’. They will come to know who has been deceived into going away from the path of truth when they face the chastisement (of their Lord).
25:43  Have you seen the one who takes his own whims as his god? Would you then be a disposer of affairs for him?
25:44  Or do you think that most of them hear and understand? They are but like cattle. The fact is that they are further astray from the path of truth.
25:45  Have you not seen how your Lord extend the shadow? If He willed, He would definitely make it still. Then We have made the sun a sign of it.
25:46  Then We slowly draw it back up towards Us.
25:47  He is the One Who makes the night a garment for you, and sleeping a rest, and He makes the day for rising.
25:48  He is the One Who sends forth the winds as glad tidings before His Mercy, and We send down pure water from the sky
25:49  In order to revive with it a dead land, and give it for drink to many living beings among Our creation, beasts and people.
25:50  And Verily We distribute it among them so that they may celebrate the praise of Allâh and declare His glory. Yet most of the people don't yield to aught except ingratitude.
25:51  Had We willed, We could have sent a Messenger to every town to deliver a warning.
25:52  Now, therefore, don’t yield to the whims of those who are spiritually dead and blind. Strive hard against them with this (Qur’ān) in a mighty struggle.
25:53  He is the One who merges the two seas: one is palatable and sweet, and the other is salty and sour. Yet has He set a barrier between them as an insuperable partition.
25:54  He is the One who created man from water and made him kindred of blood and marriage. Lo! Your Lord is Ever All- Powerful.
25:55  Yet they worship, other than Allâh, that which can neither benefit nor harm them. So the one who is spiritually dead and blind is a strong supporter (of Satan) against his own Lord.
25:56  And We have sent you for no other reason but to give glad tidings and warnings.
25:57  Say: ‘I do not ask of you in return (for my preaching) any reward, except that whoever wishes to follow a way to his Lord (and to be saved)’.
25:58  And depend on the Ever-Living One with full trust, who doesn’t die. And celebrate His praise and declare His absolute majesty and glory. He has full knowledge of the iniquitous deeds of His servants.
25:59  He is the One who created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them in six Days, and then established Himself on the Glorious Throne. (He is indeed) the True Merciful (God). And ask (only) Him about (His Divine & Majestic Qualities) since He has the full knowledge of all things.
25:60  And when they are asked to prostrate before the True Merciful (God), they say: ‘What is the True Merciful (God)? Shall we prostrate before whatever you order us?" And your preaching adds to their aversion.
25:61  Most Blessed is the One who has placed Mansions of the stars in the sky and placed therein a tremendous lamp -(sun)- and a shinning moon.
25:62  He is the One who has appointed the night and the day to succeed one another for whoever seeks to ruminate (on the nature of existence) or to express his gratitude (to Him).
25:63  The (devoted) servants of the True Merciful (God) are those who walk modestly on the earth, and when the ignorant ones address them, they reply: ‘Peace’.
25:64  They are the ones who spend the night prostrating themselves before their Lord and standing.
25:65  (They are) the ones who say: ‘Our Lord! avert from us the Fury of Gehenna! Its Fury is definitely an everlasting agony.
25:66  Dreadful indeed is it as a lodging-place and an abode!’
25:67  Those who, when they spend, are not recklessly extravagant and not niggardly, but maintain moderation.
25:68  They don’t invoke with Allâh another god, or take the life which Allâh has forbidden except in the cause of justice, and do don’t commit adultery. For Whoever commits that will have to incur a severe penalty:
25:69  The punishment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection; and he will abide therein in ignominy,
25:70  Except him who repents, adheres to Faith and strives to do righteous acts. For such, Allâh will replace their iniquitous deeds with good ones. Lo! Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
25:71  And whoever repents and strives to do righteous acts has surely turned unto Allâh with sincere repentance.
25:72  (They are) those who never testify in the favor of falsehood, and whenever they pass near an evil vain talk, they pass by with sublimity.
25:73  Those who, when they are reminded of the Messages of their Lord, they don’t fall down deaf or blind.
25:74  And who say: ‘Our Lord, vouchsafe us the feeling of great pleasure of our wives and of our offspring. And make us an example for the Pious’.
25:75  Those will be awarded with the loftiest chamber for what they patiently endured (in their struggle in the cause of Allâh). And they will be received therein with a salutation of welcome and peace,
25:76  Living therein forever. What a marvelous lodging-place and abode!
25:77  Say: ‘My Lord would not concern Himself with you if it were not for your supplication. Now that you have voluntarily and consciously denied (the Prophet and the Qur’ān), then the punishment is inevitable.
