69:1  The Sure Reality.
69:2  What is the Sure Reality?
69:3  And what will make you understand what the Sure Reality is?
69:4  Thamud and Aad denied the Striking Calamity.
69:5  As for Thamud, they were eradicated by the Overwhelming.
69:6  As for Aad, they were destroyed by a relentless, roaring wind.
69:7  He imposed it upon them for seven nights and eight consecutive days. You see the people in it fallen, as if they were hollow palm trunks.
69:8  Can you see any remnants of them?
69:9  Then came Pharaoh, those before him, and the Overturned Cities, all steeped in sin.
69:10  They all disobeyed their Lord’s messenger, and consequently, He seized them with a devastating seizure.
69:11  When the waters surged, We transported you in the Cruiser.
69:12  To serve as a reminder for you, and to be heard by attentive ears.
69:13  Then, when the Trumpet is blown, with a single blast.
69:14  And the earth and the mountains are lifted and crushed with a single strike.
69:15  On that Day, the momentous event will transpire.
69:16  And the sky will split apart; on that Day, it will be frail.
69:17  And the angels will be on its sides, and that Day eight will bear the Throne of your Lord above them.
69:18  On that Day, you’ll be exposed, with none of your secrets remaining hidden.
69:19  The one given his record in his right hand will say, “Here, take my record and read it.
69:20  I knew that I would meet my account.”
69:21  So, he will be in a life of contentment.
69:22  In an elevated Garden.
69:23  Where fruits are within easy reach.
69:24  “Eat and drink cheerfully for what you’ve done in the former days.”
69:25  However, whoever is given his record in his left hand will lament, “I wish I had never received my record.
69:26  And had not known my account.
69:27  I wish it had been the decisive one!
69:28  My wealth didn’t avail me.
69:29  My authority has utterly vanished.”
69:30  “Take him, and shackle him.
69:31  Then, thrust him into the blistering Flames.
69:32  Furthermore, bind him with a chain seventy arm’s length.
69:33  He didn’t used to believe in God, the Great.
69:34  Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor.
69:35  Therefore, today, he has no loyal friend here.
69:36  Nor any food, except from the discharge of wounds.
69:37  Which only the guilty would eat.”
69:38  So I swear by what you see.
69:39  And by what you don’t see.
69:40  It is indeed the word of a noble messenger.
69:41  It is not the word of a poet—how little you believe.
69:42  Nor is it the speech of a fortune teller—scarcely do you remember.
69:43  A revelation from the Lord of the universes.
69:44  Had he attributed some statements to Us.
69:45  We would’ve seized him by the right hand.
69:46  And severed his life-artery.
69:47  And none of you could’ve shielded him from Us.
69:48  It’s a reminder for the righteous.
69:49  We know that some of you will deny it.
69:50  It’s a source of regret for the unbelievers.
69:51  Yet, it’s the absolute reality.
69:52  So, glorify the name of your Lord, the Most Magnificent.
