55:1  The Merciful
55:2  Taught the Quran;
55:3  He created man,
55:4  Taught him clear speech.
55:5  The sun and the moon with calculation;
55:6  The star and the tree both prostrate;
55:7  And the heaven, He raised it and set the balance,
55:8  That you not be immoderate in the balance;
55:9  But weigh aright, and stint not the balance.
55:10  And the earth He has set it for creatures;
55:11  In it fruit; and the palms, possessors of the calyxes;
55:12  And the grain, possessors of the straw; and fragrant herb.
55:13  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:14  He created man of clay like the potter's.
55:15  And He created the jinn from smokeless fire.
55:16  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:17  The Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests.
55:18  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:19  He has loosed the two seas. They meet.
55:20  Between them is a barrier they cannot pass.
55:21  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:22  There comes forth from both of them the pearl and the coral.
55:23  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:24  His are the ships which rear aloft in the sea like mountains.
55:25  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:26  Everyone upon it is transient,
55:27  But the face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honour shall endure.
55:28  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:29  Whoever is in the heavens and the earth asks Him; everyday He is in business.
55:30  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:31  We shall surely attend to you at leisure, O you two weighty ones.
55:32  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:33  O assembly of jinn and mankind! If you are able to pass through the regions of heavens and the earth then pass through them. - You cannot pass through except by authority.
55:34  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:35  There shall be sent against you a flash of fire, and molten copper, and you shall not be helped.
55:36  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:37  And when the heaven is split asunder and becomes rosy red - like grease.
55:38  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:39  On that day neither man nor jinn shall be asked about his crime.
55:40  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:41  The sinners shall be known by their marks, and shall be seized by the forelock and the feet.
55:42  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:43  This is Hell, which the sinners call a lie.
55:44  They will go round between it and hot, boiling water.
55:45  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:46  But for him who fears the station of His Lord are two gardens.
55:47  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:48  Abounding in branches.
55:49  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:50  In each are flowing springs.
55:51  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:52  In both of them are pairs of every fruit.
55:53  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:54  Reclining on beds the linings of which are of brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens within reach to gather.
55:55  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:56  Therein are women restraining their glances whom no man nor jinn has deflowered before.
55:57  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:58  As though they were rubies and coral.
55:59  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:60  Shall the reward of goodness be other than goodness?
55:61  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:62  And besides these, are two gardens,
55:63  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:64  With dark green foliage.
55:65  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:66  In each two gushing springs.
55:67  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:68  In each fruit and palms and pomegranates.
55:69  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:70  In them good, good.
55:71  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:72  Houris, cloistered in the tents.
55:73  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:74  Whom no man nor jinn has deflowered before them.
55:75  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:76  Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets.
55:77  Then which of your Lord's favours will you both deny?
55:78  Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honour.
