74:1  O you wrapped in a garment!
74:2  Stand up, then warn!
74:3  And your Lord, then magnify!
74:4  And your garments, then purify!
74:5  And uncleaness, then avoid!
74:6  And do not bestow favour desiring much.
74:7  And for your Lord then be patient!
74:8  And when the horn is blown in,
74:9  And that, that day is a difficult day.
74:10  On the disbelievers, not easy.
74:11  Leave Me and whom I created alone,
74:12  And made for him much wealth,
74:13  And children present,
74:14  And I made affairs easy for him.
74:15  Then he desires that I should increase.
74:16  Not so, indeed he was stubborn to Our signs.
74:17  Soon I will impose on him a difficult punishment.
74:18  Indeed, he reflected and he meditated.
74:19  So may he be killed, how he meditated.
74:20  Then, may he be killed, how he meditated.
74:21  Then he looked;
74:22  Then he frowned and frowned;
74:23  Then he turned his back, and was proud,
74:24  Then he said, 'This is not except transmitted magic.
74:25  This is not except the speech of mortals.'
74:26  Soon I will broil him in Hell.
74:27  And what will make you know what Hell is?
74:28  It spares not and it leaves not;
74:29  Scorching the skin;
74:30  Over it are nineteen.
74:31  And We have not made keepers of the fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve; that those who have been given the Book may be certain; and that those who believe may increase in faith; and that those who have been given the Book and the believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts is sickness, and the disbelievers may say, 'What does God desire with this similitude?' Thus God leads astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none know the armies of your Lord but He. And it is not except a Reminder to the mortals.
74:32  Not so, by the moon.
74:33  By the night when it turns back.
74:34  By the morning when it shines.
74:35  Indeed, it is surely one of the greatest,
74:36  A warning to the mortals,
74:37  To he among you who willed that he precede or lag behind.
74:38  Every soul is pledged for what it earned,
74:39  Except the fellows of the right;
74:40  In gardens they will ask one another
74:41  About the sinners.
74:42  'What made you enter Hell?'
74:43  They said, 'We were not of those who prayed,
74:44  And we did not use to feed the poor,
74:45  And we used to plunge into vain discourse with those who plunged into vain discourse,
74:46  And we used to say the Day of Judgment was a lie
74:47  Until the certainty came to us.'
74:48  So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them.
74:49  So what ails them from the Reminder turning away
74:50  As if they were frightened asses
74:51  Fleeing from a lion?
74:52  Nay, every man among them desires that he be given books spread out.
74:53  Not so, nay they do not fear the hereafter.
74:54  Not so, indeed, it is a Reminder.
74:55  So he who willed remembered it;
74:56  And they will not remember except that God wills. He is worthy of the piety and worthy of the forgiveness.
