73:1  O you who are enwrapped!

73:2  Stand in the night except a little,

73:3  Half of it or decrease from it a little,

73:4  Or increase it, and arrange well the Quran, distinctly.

73:5  Indeed, We will soon cast on you a heavy speech.

73:6  Indeed, the early part of the night, it is most intense in tread and most straight in speech.

73:7  Indeed, for you in the day is a long occupation.

73:8  And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself exclusively to Him, devoting exclusively.

73:9  The Lord of the east and the west; there is no god but He, so take Him as a trustee.

73:10  And be patient over what they say, and avoid them, a beautiful avoidance.

73:11  And leave Me and those who say it is a lie, the possessors of ease and plenty, and give them a little respite.

73:12  Indeed, with Us are fetters and Hellfire,

73:13  And food, possessor of choking, and painful punishment.

73:14  On the day the earth and the mountains quake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand pouring down.

73:15  Indeed We, We have sent to you a messenger, a witness against you, as We sent a messenger to Pharaoh.

73:16  Then Pharaoh rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him, an overpowering seizing.

73:17  Then how will you fear, if you disbelieve, a day which will make the children grey-haired?

73:18  The sky will be rent by it; His promise is to be done.

73:19  Indeed, this is a Reminder; so he who willed took a way to his Lord.

73:20  Indeed, your Lord knows that you stand less than two-thirds of the night, and half of it, and one-third of it, and a party of those who are with you. And God measures the night and the day. He knows that you do not count it, and He has turned relentant to you. So read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that soon there will be among you sick and others journeying in the earth, seeking the grace of God, and others fighting in the way of God. So read what is easy of it, and be steadfast in the prayer, and give the alms, and lend God a good loan. And what you send forward for your souls of good, you will find it with God. It is better and greater a reward. And ask God for forgiveness; indeed, God is forgiving, compassionate.
