33:1  O prophet! Fear God and do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites; indeed, God is knowing, wise.
33:2  And follow what is inspired to you from your Lord; indeed, God is aware of what you do.
33:3  And rely on God, and God sufficed for a trustee.
33:4  God has not made for a man two hearts in his interior; and He has not made your wives, the ones whose backs you liken to the backs of your mothers, your mothers. And He has not made your adopted sons your sons. That is your speech with your mouths, and God says the truth, and He guides to the way.
33:5  Call them by their fathers; it is more just with God. And if you do not know their fathers, then your brothers in the religion and your clients. And there is no crime against you concerning what you made a mistake in, but what your hearts did purposely; and God is forgiving, compassionate.
33:6  The prophet is more worthy of the believers than their souls, and his wives are their mothers. And the possessors of relationships, some of them are more worthy of some in the Book of God than the believers and the emigrants; except that you do good to your patrons, that is written in the Book.
33:7  And when We took from the prophets their covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of Mary; and We took from them a strong covenant.
33:8  That He may ask the truthful about their truth; and He has prepared a painful punishment for the disbelievers.
33:9  O those who believed! Remember the favour of God upon you when armies came to you, and We sent against them a wind and armies which you did not see; and God sees what you do.
33:10  When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes deviated, and the hearts reached the throats, and you thought the thoughts about God.
33:11  There the believers were tested and they were shaken, a severe shock.
33:12  And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is sickness said, 'God and His messenger promised us not except deception.'
33:13  And when a party of them said, 'O people of Yathrib! There is no station for you, so return.' And a party of them asked the prophet for permission, they said, 'Indeed, our houses are exposed;’ and they were not exposed, they desired not except to flee.
33:14  And had they been entered upon from its regions, then been asked the trial, surely they would have given it; and they would not have hesitated about it except a little.
33:15  And surely, certainly they had covenanted with God before not to turn away the backs; and the covenant of God will be enquired of.
33:16  Say, 'Flight will not profit you if you flee from death or the killing; and then you will not be given enjoyment except a little.'
33:17  Say, 'Who is that, the one who will protect you from God, if He desires evil for you or He desires mercy for you?' And they will not find a patron for them besides God, nor a helper.
33:18  Certainly, God knows those who hinder among you, and those who say to their brothers, 'Come to us,' and they bring not valour except a little.
33:19  Covetous towards you; then when the fear comes, you see them looking at you, their eyes revolving like the one who faints from death; then when the fear goes, they lash you with sharp tongues, covetous towards the good. Those did not believe, so God will make their works void, and that is easy for God.
33:20  They think the parties did not go; and if the parties come, they would wish if that they were living in the desert among the desert Arabs, asking about your information. And if they were among you, they would not fight except a little.
33:21  Surely, certainly there is for you in the messenger of God a good example for whoever hopes for God and the Last Day, and remembered God much.
33:22  And when the believers saw the parties they said, 'This is what God and His messenger promised us; and God and His messenger spoke truth.' And it increased them not except in faith and submission.
33:23  Among the believers are men who have been true to what they covenanted with God on it. And among them is he who has paid his vow, and among them is he who waits, and they have not changed, changing.
33:24  That God may recompense the truthful for their truth, and punish the hypocrites if He wills, or relent on them; indeed, God is forgiving, compassionate.
33:25  And God drove back those who disbelieved in their rage; they did not attain good. And God sufficed the believers in the fight; and God is strong, mighty.
33:26  And He brought down those who assisted them among the people of the Book from their fortresses and He cast terror in their hearts; a party you slay and a party you take captive.
33:27  And He made you inherit their land and their homes and their wealth and a land which you did not tread; and God is powerful over everything.
33:28  O prophet! Say to your wives, 'If you desire the worldly life and its adornment, then come, I will provide for you and release you, a beautiful release.
33:29  And if you desire God and His messenger and the home of the hereafter, then indeed, God has prepared a great reward for the good-doers among you.'
33:30  O women of the prophet! Whoever commits manifest immorality among you, the punishment will be doubled for her twice; and that is easy for God.
33:31  And whoever among you is obedient to God and His messenger and does right, We will give her her reward twice, and We have prepared a noble provision for her.
33:32  O women of the prophet! You are not like any one among the women; if you fear, then do not be soft in speech, lest the one in whose heart is sickness desires; and say a good speech.
33:33  And stay in your houses and do not display yourselves, the display of the former time of ignorance; and be steadfast in the prayer, and give the alms, and obey God and His messenger; God only desires to remove the uncleanness from you, O people of the house! And to purify you, purifying.
33:34  And remember what is recited in your houses of the signs of God and the wisdom; indeed, God is subtle, aware.
33:35  Indeed, the men who submit and the women who submit, and the men who believe and the women who believe, and the obedient men and the obedient women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women, and the humble men and the humble women, and the men who give charity and the women who give charity, and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their private parts and the women who guard, and the men who remember God much, and the women who remember, God has prepared forgiveness and a great reward for them.
33:36  And it is not for a believing man nor a believing woman, when God and His messenger decide an affair, that there is for them the choice of their affair; and whoever rebels against God and His messenger, then certainly, he has erred, a clear error.
33:37  And when you said to the one whom God had bestowed favour on, and you had bestowed favour on, 'Retain your wife on you and fear God;' and you concealed in your soul what God revealed; and you feared mankind, and God is more worthy that you fear Him; then when Zayd had completed want of her We married her to you so that there will be no straitness on the believers concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they complete want of them; and the command of God is to be done.
33:38  There is no straitness on the prophet concerning what God has allowed for him; the course of God concerning those who passed away before, and the command of God is a decreed decree.
33:39  Those who convey the messages of God and fear Him and do not fear anyone except God, and God sufficed for a reckoner.
33:40  Muhammad is not the father of any one of your men, but the messenger of God, and the seal of the prophets; and God knows everything.
33:41  O those who believed! Remember God, much remembrance,
33:42  And glorify Him early morning and evening.
33:43  He is the one who prays for you and His angels, that He may bring you out of the darknesses to the light, and He is compassionate with the believers.
33:44  Their salutation on the day they will meet Him is 'Peace;' and He has prepared a noble reward for them.
33:45  O prophet! Indeed We, We have sent you as a witness and an announcer of glad tidings and a warner,
33:46  And a caller to God, with His permission, and an illuminating lamp.
33:47  And give glad tidings to the believers, because for them is great grace from God.
33:48  And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites; and dismiss their harm, and rely on God, and God sufficed for a trustee.
33:49  O those who believed! When you marry believing women then you divorce them before that you have touched them, then there is no waiting period for you to count it on them; so provide for them and release them, a beautiful release.
33:50  O prophet! Indeed We, We have made lawful to you your wives, the ones to whom you have given their payment, and what your right hand possesses from what God has restored to you, and the daughters of your paternal uncles, and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles, and the daughters of your maternal aunts, those who emigrated with you, and a believing woman if she gives herself to the prophet, if the prophet desires to marry her; exclusively for you, exclusively of the believers. Certainly, We know what We have allowed for them concerning their wives and what their right hands possess, so that there will be no straitness on you; and God is forgiving, compassionate.
33:51  You may postpone whom you will of them and you may accommodate to you whom you will, and whoever you desired of whom you set aside, then there is no crime against you. That is nearer to cooling their eyes and that they may not grieve, and that they may be pleased with what you have given them, all of them. And God knows what is in your hearts; and God is knowing, clement.
33:52  The women are not lawful for you after, nor to exchange wives with them, even if their good pleases you; except what your right hand possesses, and God is a watcher over everything.
33:53  O those who believed! Do not enter the houses of the prophet, except that permission is given to you for a meal, not waiting for its preparation. But when you are called, then enter; then when you eat, then disperse, and do not listen to a story. Indeed, that annoys the prophet and he is shy of you, and God is not shy of the truth. And when you ask them for an article, then ask them from behind a veil; that is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not for you to annoy the messenger of God, nor to marry his wives after him ever; indeed, that is great with God.
33:54  If you show something or conceal it, then indeed, God knows everything.
33:55  There is no crime against them concerning their fathers, nor their sons, nor their brothers, nor the sons of their brothers, nor the sons of their sisters, nor their women, nor what their right hands possess. And fear God; indeed, God is a witness over everything.
33:56  Indeed, God and His angels pray for the prophet. O those who believed! Pray for him and salute, a salutation.
33:57  Indeed, those who annoy God and His messenger, God has cursed them in the world and the hereafter, and He has prepared a shameful punishment for them.
33:58  And those who annoy the believers, men and women, for other than what they have earned, then certainly, they have borne slander and clear sin.
33:59  O prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers, to lower upon them of their jalabib; that is nearer to be recognised and not annoyed; and God is forgiving, compassionate.
33:60  Surely if the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is sickness and the spreaders of false rumours in Al Madinah do not desist, We will surely, definitely incite you against them. Then they will not be your neighbours in it except a little.
33:61  Cursed wherever they are found, taken and slain, a slaying.
33:62  The course of God concerning those who passed away before; and you will not find change to the course of God.
33:63  Mankind will ask you about the Hour; say, 'Its knowledge is only with God.’ And what will make you know? Perhaps the Hour is near.
33:64  Indeed, God has cursed the disbelievers and He has prepared a blaze for them.
33:65  To dwell forever in it, forever; they will not find a patron nor a helper.
33:66  On the day their faces will be turned over in the fire, they will say, 'O would that we had obeyed God and obeyed the messenger!'
33:67  And they will say, 'Our Lord! Indeed we, we obeyed our chiefs and our great men and they caused us to go astray from the way.
33:68  Our Lord! Give them double of the punishment and curse them, a great curse.'
33:69  O those who believed! Do not be like those who annoyed Moses, then God cleared him of what they said. And he is notable with God.
33:70  O those who believed! Fear God and speak pertinent speech.
33:71  He will fix your works for you, and He will forgive you your sins; and whoever obeys God and His messenger, then certainly, he has attained great success.
33:72  Indeed We, We offered the trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they refused to bear it, and they were afraid of it; and man bore it; indeed, he is unjust, ignorant.
33:73  That God may punish the hypocrites, men and women, and the idolaters and the idolatresses; and that God may relent on the believers, men and women; and God is forgiving, compassionate.
