46:1  Ha.Mim.
46:2  The revelation of the Book is from God the Mighty, the Wise.
46:3  We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a named term; and those who disbelieve turn away from what they are warned of.
46:4  Say, 'Have you considered what you call on besides God? Show me what they have created of the earth; or have they share in the heavens? Bring me a book before this or a vestige of knowledge, if you are truthful.'
46:5  But who is more in error than he who calls beside God on who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection and who are heedless of their calling,
46:6  And when mankind are gathered together, shall be enemies to them, and shall deny their service.
46:7  And when Our signs are recited to them, clear proofs, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them, 'This is clear magic.'
46:8  Or do they say, 'He has forged it'? Say: 'If I have forged it you have no power to help me against God. He knows best what you utter concerning it; He suffices for a witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Compassionate.'
46:9  Say: 'I am not an innovation among the messengers, and I do not know what shall be done with me or with you. I only follow what is revealed to me; I am only a clear warner.'
46:10  Say, 'Have you considered, if it is from God and you have disbelieved in it, and a witness from the children of Israel testifies to the conformity of it, and he believes while you are big with pride?' Indeed, God does not guide the unjust people.
46:11  And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, 'If it had been good, they would not have been before us in attaining it.' And when they are not guided by it, then they will say, 'This is an ancient lie.'
46:12  And before it was the Book of Moses, a model and a mercy; and this is a book confirming it in Arabic language, to warn those who do wrong and as good news for the good-doers.
46:13  Indeed, those who say, 'Our Lord is God,' then go straight, there is no fear for them, and they will not grieve.
46:14  Those are the fellows of the Garden to dwell therein forever, a recompense for what they used to do.
46:15  And We have instructed man with his parents goodness. His mother bore him unwillingly and brought him forth unwillingly; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months; until when he reaches his strength, and reaches forty years, he says, 'My Lord, enable me that I may be thankful for Your favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents; and that I may do good works which please You; and make it right for me in my offspring; indeed, I turn repentant to You, and indeed, I am of those who submit.'
46:16  Those are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they have done, and We overlook their evil deeds - amongst the fellows of the Garden; the promise of truth which they have been promised.
46:17  But he who says to his parents, 'Fie upon you both! Do you promise me that I shall be brought forth when generations have passed away before me?' And they both cry to God for help - 'Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of God is true.' Then he says, 'This is not except legends of the former people.'
46:18  Those are the ones against whom the sentence has proved true amongst the nations who have passed away before them of jinns and men; indeed, they were losers.
46:19  And for all are degrees of what they did, and that He may pay them in full their works, and they shall not be wronged.
46:20  And the day when those who disbelieve shall be exposed to the fire: 'You exhausted your good things in your worldly life, and you took your enjoyment in them; so today you shall be rewarded with the punishment of disgrace, because you were big with pride in the earth without the right, and because you were disobedient.'
46:21  And remember the brother of 'Ad when he warned his people in the sandy plains, - and indeed warners have passed away before him and after him, - 'Serve none but God; indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great day.'
46:22  They said, 'Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods? Then bring us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful.
46:23  He said, 'Knowledge is only with God: and I convey to you that which I am sent with but I see you are a people who are ignorant.'
46:24  And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, 'This is a cloud to give us rain.' Nay, it is what you sought to hasten on - a wind in which is painful punishment,
46:25  Destroying everything by the command of its Lord. And in the morning nothing was seen except their dwellings, thus do We reward the sinful people.
46:26  And certainly, We had established them in what we have not established you, and We made for them hearing and eyesight and hearts; but their hearing, their eyesight and their hearts availed them nothing, since they denied the signs of God, and they were encompassed by what they mocked at.
46:27  And certainly We destroyed the cities that are around you: - and We turned about the signs that perhaps they might return.
46:28  Then why did not those help them, whom beside God they took for gods that could draw near to Him? Nay, they strayed away from them; and that was their lie and what they had forged.
46:29  And when We turned towards you a company of the jinn listening to the Quran, and when they were present at it, they said, 'Be silent.' and when it was over they turned back to their people, warning.
46:30  They said, 'O our people! Indeed, We have heard a book sent down after Moses, verifying what came before it, guiding to the truth, and unto the right way.
46:31  O our people! Respond to God's caller and believe in Him, He will pardon you your sins and will protect you from punishment.'
46:32  And whoever does not respond to God's caller then he shall not escape in the earth, and shall not have any patrons beside Him; those are in clear error.
46:33  Did they not see that God who created the heavens and the earth, and was not wearied with creating them, is able to give life to the dead? Nay, indeed, He is powerful over everything.
46:34  And the day when those who disbelieve shall be exposed to the fire, - 'Is this not the truth?' They shall say, 'Yes, by our Lord.' He shall say, 'Then taste the punishment because you disbelieved.'
46:35  So be patient, as the messengers endowed with a purpose were patient, and do not seek to hasten for them. On the day they see what they are promised, as if they had not tarried except an hour of a day. A communication. And will any be destroyed but the disobedient people?
