70:1  An inquirer inquires concerning the punishment about to befal
70:2  The disbelievers, and which none can repel
70:3  It is from ALLAH, Lord of great ascents
70:4  The angels and the Spirit ascend to HIM in a day, the measure of which is fifty thousand years
70:5  So be patient with admirable patience
70:6  They see it to be far off
70:7  But WE see it to be nigh
70:8  The day when the heaven will become like molten copper
70:9  And the mountains will become like flakes of wool
70:10  And a friend will not inquire after a friend
70:11  Though they will be placed in sight of one another. The guilty one would fain ransom himself from the punishment of that day by offering his children
70:12  And his wife and his brother
70:13  And his kinsfolk who gave him shelter
70:14  And by offering all those who are on the earth, if only thus he might save himself
70:15  But no ! surely, it is a flame of Fire
70:16  Stripping off the skin even to the extremities of the body
70:17  It shall call him who turned his back and retreated
70:18  And hoarded wealth and withheld it
70:19  Verily, man is created impatient and miserly
70:20  When evil touches him, he is full of lamentations
70:21  But when good falls to his lot, he is niggardly
70:22  Except those who pray
70:23  Those who are constant in their Prayer
70:24  And those in whose wealth there is a known right
70:25  For those who ask for help and for those who do not ask
70:26  And those who believe in the Day of Judgment to be a reality
70:27  And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord
70:28  Verily, from the punishment of their Lord none can feel secure
70:29  And those who guard their private parts
70:30  Except from their wives and from those whom their right hands possess; such indeed, are not to blame
70:31  But those who seek to go beyond that, it is these who are transgressors
70:32  And those who are watchful of their trusts and their covenants
70:33  And those who are upright in their testimonies
70:34  And those who are strict in the observance of their Prayer
70:35  These will be in the Gardens, duly honoured
70:36  But what is the matter with those who disbelieve that they come hurrying on towards thee
70:37  From the right hand and from the left, in different parties
70:38  Does every man among them hope to enter the Garden of Bliss
70:39  Never ! WE have created them of that which they know
70:40  But nay ! I swear by the Lord of the Easts and of the Wests that WE have the powe
70:41  To bring in their place others better than they, and WE cannot be frustrated in Our plans
70:42  So leave them alone to indulge in idle talk and to sport until they meet that day of theirs which they are promised
70:43  The day when they will come forth from their graves hastening as though they were racing to a target
70:44  Their eyes cast down; and humiliation covering them. Such is the Day which they are promised
