46:2
The revelation of the book from Allah, The All-mighty, The All-wise.
46:3
We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except by the truth and for an appointed time but those who disbelieved have turned away from that of which they were warned.
46:4
Say, “Have you seen all that you invoke besides Allah, show me what they have created from the earth or is there a part for them in the heavens? Bring me a book before this [Quran] or traces of knowledge if you are truthful.”
46:5
And who is more misguided than one who calls besides Allah such a one who will not respond back to him till the day of resurrection while they [the gods] are completely oblivious about their invocation.
46:6
And when the mankind is gathered, they [the gods] will be enemies unto them and they [the gods] will deny their worshipping of them.
46:7
And whenever Our signs are related unto them clearly, those who disbelieve say to the truth when it comes to them, “This is a magic most evident.”
46:8
Or do they say, “He has contrived it.” Say, “If I did contrive it, then you have no power over anything with Allah for me. He is All-knowing about all that in which you indulge. Sufficient is He as a witness between me and you and He is The Oft-Forgiving, The Most Merciful.”
46:9
Say, “I am not an innovation from the messengers nor do I know what is going to be done to me nor unto you. I but follow that which is inspired unto me and I am but a warner most evident.”
46:10
Say, “Do you see if it were from Allah and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the children of Israel witnessed a like of it, so he believed [in it] but you grew arrogant. And Allah does not guide the people who wrong their own souls.”
46:11
And those who disbelieved said to those who believed, “Had this [Islam] been a good thing they would not have come to it before us.” And since they did not find guidance through it so they will say, “This is but an ancient fabrication.”
46:12
And before it was the book of Moses a leader and a mercy and this is a book testifying [to that which came before it] in Arabic tongue so that it may warn those who wrong their own souls and is a glad tiding for those who act in excellence.
46:13
Truly those who say, “Our Lord is Allah and then they stand upright, then there is no fear on them nor do they grieve.”
46:14
Those are the owners of the garden to abide therein forever as a reward for all that they used to do.
46:15
We have commended unto the human being kindness to his parents. His mother born him with hardship and laid him down with hardship and his bearing and his weaning is thirty months until when he reaches the fullness of his strength and reaches forty years he says, “O my Lord! Exhort me so that I give gratitude for your blessing with which you blessed me and my both parents and that I work righteous deed which You may be pleased with and put righteousness for me in my descendants. Truly I have turned to You in repentance and truly I am of those who have submitted to you.”
46:16
Those are the ones from whom We accept the best of what they worked and We forego their evil deeds [to be] among the owners of the garden, the truthful promise of which they used to be promised.
46:17
As for the one who says to his parents, “Fie unto both of you. Do both of you promise me that I will be brought forth [after death] when the generations had passed before me?” But the two of them seek the help of Allah [and they say], “Woe unto you! Believe! Truly Allah’s promise is true.” But he says, “This is nothing but the fables of the ancients.”
46:18
Those are the very ones on whom the sentence of the truth has gone forth to be among nations who had passed before them from the Jinns and the humans. Truly they indeed were the ones in loss.
46:19
And unto all will be assigned ranks according to that which they had worked and so that He may pay them in full for their deeds and they will not be wronged.
46:20
And on the day when the disbelievers will be confronted with the fire, [it will be said unto them], “You have spent out your good deeds in your former life and you had enjoyed it to the fullest so today you will be rewarded with punishment of the humiliation because of that you used to act arrogant in the earth without the truth and because of that you used to transgress against Allah’s commandments.”
46:21
And remember the brother of ‘Ad [Hud] when he warned his people in the sand-dunes and the warners had gone forth before him and after him [saying], ”Do not serve anyone except Allah. Truly I fear for you about the punishment of an awful day.”
46:22
They said, “Have you come to us to turn us away from our gods so bring to us that with which you threaten us if you are of those who are the truthful.”
46:23
He said, “The knowledge is only with Allah but I only deliver unto you that which I have been sent with however I see that you are a people in ignorance.”
46:24
And when they saw it as a passing cloud facing their valleys they said, “This is a passing cloud that is going to rain on us.” Nay! This is what you were seeking to be hastened, a wind therein is a painful punishment.
46:25
Which [the wind] devastated everything by the command of its Lord so when the morning came over them nothing was seen except their dwelling places. Thus do we reward the people who are the evildoers.
46:26
And We indeed had established them in such power which We have not established you in and We made for them hearing and sights and hearts but of no use to them was their hearing or their sight or their understanding in the least since they used to deny Allah’s signs and they were besieged by that which they used to mock at.
46:27
And We had indeed destroyed from the townships that are all around you and We presented the signs in many ways so that perhaps they may return back.
46:28
If only those that they took as gods to bring them closer to Allah could help them Nay! They went missing from them and that is their falsehood and all that they used to contrive.
46:29
And when We turned towards you a company from the Jinns [so that] they listened to the Quran and when they came to its [Quran’s] presence they said, “Be quiet [and listen].” and when [its recitation] was done they turned back to their people as warners.
46:30
They said, “O our people! We have indeed heard a book sent down after Moses testifying to that which had gone forth before it. It guides to the truth and to a way most upright.
46:31
O our people! Respond to the caller of Allah and believe in Him, He will deliver you from your sins and He will save you from a painful punishment.”
46:32
And whosoever does not respond to the caller of Allah, he indeed is not going to be out of reach in the earth and there will be no ally for him besides Him. Those are in misguidance most evident.
46:33
Have they not seen that it is Allah who created the heavens and the earth while He was not fatigued through creating them, is able to bring the dead to life. Nay! He indeed has power over everything.
46:34
And on the day when the disbelievers will be confronted with the fire, [they will be said], “Is this not the truth?” They will say, “Nay! By our Lord [this is the truth].” He will say, “Then taste the punishment for that you used to disbelieve.”
46:35
Therefore be patient as were patient the people of great resolve from among the messengers and do not be in haste for them. For the day they will see that which they were promised it will be as though they had not stayed except an hour of a day. This proclamation… so will anyone be destroyed except the people who are the renegades.
