73:1  O’ you who wrap himself in garments!
73:2  Stand (to pray) all night, except for a little,
73:3  Half of it, or lessen it a little,
73:4  Or add to it, and recite the Qurʾān with measured rhythmic recitation.
73:5  Most surely We will cast upon you a heavy speech.
73:6  Indeed, getting up at night for payer is the most potent for purifying (the heart), and the most effective in speech.
73:7  For during the day you are preoccupied with daily obligations.
73:8  Glorify the (Majestic) Name of your Lord. And devote yourself to Him with a complete devotion.
73:9  He is the Lord of the East and West. There is no other God beside Him, so take Him as your Guardian.
73:10  Endure patiently whatever they say and find a polite way to avoid them.
73:11  And let Me deal with those who are spiritually dead and blind who live an extravagant lifestyle and bear with them for a little while.
73:12  Verily We have prepared for them shackles and blazing fire,
73:13  As well as bitter foods and painful punishment.
73:14  And (mention) the day when the earth and the mountains will quake. And the mountains will turn to flowing sand dunes.
73:15  Verily We have sent to you a Messenger, a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.
73:16  But Pharaoh refused to yield (to what We have revealed to) the Messenger, so We seized him with stern grip.
73:17  Then how- If you persist in denying the Truth- can you protect yourselves against a terrifying day that shall make the children grey-haired?.
73:18  On that day, even the sky will be rent asunder. His promise is bound to be fulfilled.
73:19  Surely this is an admonition, therefore, whoever wills, let him then take a way to his Lord.
73:20  Verily your Lord, (O' Muhammad), already knows that you stand (in prayer) sometimes nearly two-thirds of the night, or half of it or a third of it, and so does a party of those who are with you. Allah measures the night and the day. He already knows that you-(Monotheistic Believers)- will not be able to pray all night, and so He has turned to you in forgiveness. Now, therefore, recite of the Qurʾān as much as is easy for you. He already knows that there will be among you sick, others travelling throughout the land, seeking the Bounty of Allâh; yet others fighting in the cause of Allâh. Recite, then, of the Qurʾān as much as is easy for you. Establish the regular Prayer, pay Zakāt (i.e. the Prescribed Purifying Alms), and give virtuous loans to Allâh. Whatever good thing you put forward for yourselves, you will find it with Allâh, better and greater in the reward. Thus, seek forgiveness of Allâh. Most certainly Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
