49:1  O those who believed! Do not take precedence before God and His messenger; and fear God, indeed God is hearing, knowing.
49:2  O those who believed! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the prophet, and do not be loud to him in the speech like the loudness of some of you to some, lest your works become void, while you do not perceive.
49:3  Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of the messenger of God, those are the ones whose hearts God has tried for piety, for them is forgiveness and great reward.
49:4  Indeed, those who call you from behind the chambers, most of them are not intelligent;
49:5  And if that they had been patient until you came out to them, surely it would have been better for them. And God is forgiving, compassionate.
49:6  O those who believed! If a disobedient one comes to you with information, then investigate, lest you harm people in ignorance then you become repentant over what you did.
49:7  And know that among you is the messenger of God; if he obeys you in much of the affair, surely you would commit sin; but God has made the faith beloved to you and He has beautified it in your hearts, and He has made disbelief and disobedience and rebellion hateful to you. Those, they are the rightly directed.
49:8  Grace from God and favour. And God is knowing, wise.
49:9  And if two parties of the believers fight, then make peace between both of them; then if one of them outrages the other, then fight the one which commits outrage until it returns to the command of God; then if it returns, then make peace between both of them with equity, and be just; indeed, God loves the just.
49:10  The believers are only siblings, so make peace between your two brothers, and fear God; perhaps you may obtain mercy.
49:11  O those who believed! Let not people ridicule people, it may be that they are better than them; and let not women ridicule women, it may be that they are better than them; and do not defame yourselves; and do not call one another with the nicknames; evil is the name, disobedience after faith. And whoever did not repent, then those, they are the wrongdoers.
49:12  O those who believed! Avoid much of conjecture; indeed, some conjecture is sin. And do not spy, and some of you should not backbite some; would one of you love that he eats the flesh of his dead brother? So you hated it. And fear God; indeed, God is relenting, compassionate.
49:13  O mankind! Indeed, We created you of male and female, and We made you nations and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you with God is the one who fears most of you; indeed, God is knowing, aware.
49:14  The desert Arabs said, 'We have believed.' Say, 'You have not believed; but say, "We have submitted."' And the faith has not yet entered into your hearts. And if you obey God and His messenger, He will not defraud you anything of your works; indeed, God is forgiving, compassionate.
49:15  The believers are only those who believed in God and His messenger, then they did not doubt, and they strove with their wealth and their souls in the way of God. Those, they are the truthful.
49:16  Say, 'Will you teach God your religion? And God knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. And God knows everything.'
49:17  They count a favour upon you that they have submitted. Say, 'Do not count your submission a favour upon me; nay, God bestowed a favour upon you that He guided you to the faith, if you are truthful.'
49:18  Indeed, God knows the unseen of the heavens and the earth, and God sees what you do.
