| Arabic | | يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا شَهَادَةُ بَيْنِكُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ حِينَ الْوَصِيَّةِ اثْنَانِ ذَوَا عَدْلٍ مِّنكُمْ أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ إِنْ أَنتُمْ ضَرَبْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَصَابَتْكُم مُّصِيبَةُ الْمَوْتِ تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا مِن بَعْدِ الصَّلَاةِ فَيُقْسِمَانِ بِاللَّهِ إِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ لَا نَشْتَرِي بِهِ ثَمَنًا وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰ وَلَا نَكْتُمُ شَهَادَةَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْآثِمِين |  |

| among you | baynikum | بَيْنِكُمْ | ب ى ن | |
| approaches | ḥaḍara | حَضَرَ | ح ض ر | |
| one of you | aḥadakumu | أَحَدَكُمُ | ا ح د | |
| [the] death, | l-mawtu | الْمَوْتُ | م و ت | |
| (at the) time (of making) | ḥīna | حِينَ | ح ى ن | |
| [the] a will | l-waṣiyati | الْوَصِيَّةِ | و ص ى | |
| among you, | minkum | مِنْكُمْ | م ن | |
| two others | ākharāni | ءَاخَرَانِ | ا خ ر | |
| other than you | ghayrikum | غَيْرِكُمْ | غ ى ر | |
| (are) travel(ing) | ḍarabtum | ضَرَبْتُمْ | ض ر ب | |
| the earth | l-arḍi | الْأَرْضِ | ا ر ض | |
| then befalls you | fa-aṣābatkum | فَأَصَابَتْكُمْ | ص و ب | |
| calamity | muṣībatu | مُصِيبَةُ | ص و ب | |
| (of) [the] death. | l-mawti | الْمَوْتِ | م و ت | |
| Detain both of them | taḥbisūnahumā | تَحْبِسُونَهُمَا | ح ب س | |
| the prayer | l-ṣalati | الصَّلَوةِ | ص ل و | |
| and let them both swear | fayuq'simāni | فَيُقْسِمَانِ | ق س م | |
| by Allah | bil-lahi | بِاللَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| you doubt, | ir'tabtum | ارْتَبْتُمْ | ر ى ب | |
| we will exchange | nashtarī | نَشْتَرِي | ش ر ى | |
| a price | thamanan | ثَمَنًا | ث م ن | |
| a near relative, | qur'bā | قُرْبَى | ق ر ب | |
| we will conceal | naktumu | نَكْتُمُ | ك ت م | |
| testimony | shahādata | شَهَادَةَ | ش ه د | |
| (of) Allah. | l-lahi | اللَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| Indeed, we | innā | إِنَّا | ا ن ن | |
| (will) surely (be) of | lamina | لَمِنَ | م ن | |
| the sinners." | l-āthimīna | الْءَاثِمِينَ | ا ث م | |
