Allatheena qaloo inna Allaha AAahida ilayna alla nu/mina lirasoolin hatta ya/tiyana biqurbanin ta/kuluhu alnnaru qul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bialbayyinati wabiallathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeena
Transliteration-2
alladhīna qālū inna l-laha ʿahida ilaynā allā nu'mina lirasūlin ḥattā yatiyanā biqur'bānin takuluhu l-nāru qul qad jāakum rusulun min qablī bil-bayināti wabi-alladhī qul'tum falima qataltumūhum in kuntum ṣādiqīn
Those who said, "Indeed Allah (has) taken promise from us that not we (should) believe in a Messenger until he brings to us a sacrifice - consumes it the fire." Say, "Surely came to you Messengers from before me with the clear Signs and with what you speak. So why you killed them, if you are truthful.

As for those who maintain, "Behold, God has bidden us not to believe in any apostle unless he comes unto us with burnt offerings" - say [unto them, O Prophet]: "Even before me there came unto you apostles with all evidence of the truth, and with that whereof you speak: why, then, did you slay them, if what you say is true?"
(The same are) those who say: Lo! Allah hath charged us that we believe not in any messenger until he bring us an offering which fire (from heaven) shall devour. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Messengers came unto you before me with miracles, and with that (very miracle) which ye describe. Why then did ye slay them? (Answer that) if ye are truthful
They (also) said: "Allah took our promise not to believe in an messenger unless He showed us a sacrifice consumed by Fire (From heaven)." Say: "There came to you messengers before me, with clear Signs and even with what ye ask for: why then did ye slay them, if ye speak the truth?"
(Those are they) who said: Surely Allah has enjoined us that we should not believe in any messenger until he brings us an offering which the fire consumes. Say: Indeed, there came to you messengers before me with clear arguments and with that which you demand; why then did you kill them if you are truthful
To those who say, God has commanded us not to believe in any messenger unless he brings down to us an offering to be consumed by fire, say, Messengers before me have come to you with clear signs, including the one you demand. Why did you kill them, if you are telling the truth
To those who said: Truly, God made a compact with us that we believe not in a Messenger until He approaches with a sacrifice to be consumed by the fire, say: Surely, Messengers brought about to you before me the clear portents and even of what you spoke. Then, why have you killed them if you had been ones who are sincere?
such as those who say: "God has charged us not to believe in any messenger until He brings us some offering which fire will consume." SAY: "Messengers before me have already brought you explanations and just what you have said; why did you kill them if you are so truthful?
Those ˹are the same people˺ who say, “Allah has commanded us not to believe in any messenger unless he brings us an offering to be consumed by fire ˹from the sky˺.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Other prophets did in fact come to you before me with clear proofs and ˹even˺ what you demanded—why then did you kill them, if what you say is true?”
They are those who said that God has made a covenant with us not to believe in a messenger unless he brings us an offering that fire consumes. Say, "Messengers before me have come to you with miracles including the one you mentioned, so why did you kill them if you are telling the truth?"
They (disbelievers) say: “Surely, Allah has taken our promise not to believe in any Messenger until he brings to us an offering which will consume the fire (from heaven).” Say: “Surely, Messengers have come to you before me with clear signs and even with what you are asking of. Then why did you kill them if you are truthful?”
[As for] those who say, “Truly God has committed us to not believe in any messenger until he brings us a sacrifice consumed by fire,” say, “Messengers certainly came before me with clear proofs and with that whereof you speak; so why did you slay them, if you are truthful?
Those who said: "God has pledged to us that we should not believe in a messenger unless he brings us an offering which the fire will not devour." Say: "Messengers have come to you before me with clarity and with what you have said, so why did you kill them if you were truthful"
To those who say, ‘God has commanded us not to believe in any messenger unless he brings us an offering that fire [from heaven] consumes,’ say [Prophet], ‘Messengers before me have come to you with clear signs, including the one you mention. If you are sincere, why did you kill them?&rsquo
There are those who say. verily God hath covenanted with us that we should believe not in an apostle until he bring unto us a sacrifice which a fire shall devour. Say thou: surety there came unto you apostles before me with evidences and with that which ye speak of, wherefore then did ye slay them, if ye say sooth
To those who say: "God has ordained that we should not believe an apostle who does not bring burnt offerings," say: "Many an apostle had come to you before me with manifest proofs, even with what you mention; then why did you kill them if you were men of truth?"
Those who say, ´Allah has made a contract with us that we should not have iman in any Messenger until he brings us a sacrifice consumed by fire.´ Say, ´Messengers came to you before me with the Clear Signs and with what you say. So why did you kill them if you are telling the truth?´
(Also it is) they who said: "God made covenant with us, that we believe not in any Messenger unless he brings us an offering which (as a sign of its being accepted by God) a fire (from heaven) will consume." Say (to them, O Messenger): "Before me there came to you Messengers with the clear proofs (of their Messengership) and with that (same miracle) which you describe: why, then, did you kill them, if you are true in your claim?"
[To] those who say, ‘Allah has pledged us not to believe in any apostle unless he brings us an offering consumed by fire,’ say, ‘Apostles before me certainly brought you manifest signs and what you speak of. Then why did you kill them, should you be truthful?&rsquo

The ones who said, "Surely Allah has covenanted (with) us that we (should) not believe any Messenger until he comes up to us with an all-sanctified sacrifice to be eaten (up) by fire." Say, "Messengers even before me already came to you with supreme evidences and with that which you said. Why then did you kill them in case you are sincere?"
(Muhammad), say to those who say, 'God has commanded us not to believe any Messenger unless he offers a burnt offering,' (Muhammad) say, "Messengers came to you before me with certain miracles and with that which you had asked for (burnt offering). It is they (the Children of Israel) who say, "God has taken a promise from us that we shall not believe in any Messenger unless he brings us a burnt offering." (An animal sacrifice that a fire from the heaven shall consume, or that burning of the sacrifice shall be an ordinance). (There are) those who said, "In fact, Allah has bound us by a pledge, that we shall not accept (anyone as) a messenger, unless (he performs the miracle of sacrifice, whereby) his offering is devoured by the (divine) fire (from the sky)." Say (to them), "Messengers had come to you before me with very clear signs including the one you have mentioned. Why then, did you kill them, if you are truthful?"

Controversial, deprecated, or status undetermined works
They (the Jews) also say: “God has asked us not to believe in any Prophet unless his sacrifice is being struck with a thunder from the heaven.” Tell them: “If it is so, then why did you kill the previous Prophets who performed such a miracle (refer to the case of Prophet Elijah in I Kings, 18-19)?&rdquo

Those who say, 'Allah has covenanted with us that we believe not in any messenger until he brings an order of such sacrifice which the fire consumes; say you, 'Many messengers came to you before me bearing clear signs and with this order which you speak of, then why did you kill them, if you are truthful?

Then (despite that) why did you martyr them if you are (so) truthful?

Some of them say, “Allah never told us to believe in any messenger unless he brought us an offering consumed by fire [from Heaven].” Say, “Messengers came before me, and they had miracles, including that one you just mentioned. Why then did you kill them, if you’re telling the truth?”
They declare: “God has charged us not to believe in any messenger unless he brings us an offering which the fire consumes.†Say: “Messengers came to you before me with clear evidence of the truth, and with that which you describe. Why, then, did you slay them, if what you say is true?â€

Those who said: ' Verily Allah has covenanted with us not to believe in any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire (from heaven) will consume '. Who said: "Allah has enjoined us not to give credence to a Prophet until he has presented to us an offering which of necessity be devoured by a fire from heaven." Say to them O Muhammad: "Many Prophets before me had presented you with clear evidence of Allah’s Omnipotence and of their delegated divine authority and with such divinely miraculous acts as you have described, why then did you bring death upon them if indeed you are declaring the truth!"
(To) those who said, "Allah has made An agreement with us that we should certainly not believe in any messenger until he brings to us an offering which is consumed by the fire," say, "Messengers had come to you before me with clear proofs and with that which you ask for, then why did you kill them, if you were truthful?"
