85:1  By the heaven with its constellations

85:2  And by the Promised Day

85:3  And by the One Who will be Present (that Day) and by what will be brought to the presence

85:4  The (people) of the trenches were slain

85:5  (The people of) the fierce fire which was (fed) with abundant fuel

85:6  When they sat beside it

85:7  And they are themselves witnesses to all they did to the believers (i.e., casting them into the fire and burning them)

85:8  And nothing (of the believers) was annoying them except that they had believed in Allah the Almighty, All-Praiseworthy

85:9  To Whom the (entire) kingdom of the heavens and the earth belongs and Allah is Witness over everything

85:10  Indeed, those who persecute the believing men and women and then do not (even) repent, for them is the punishment of Hell, and for them is (especially) the torment of burning in the Fire

85:11  And indeed, those who believe and keep doing pious deeds, for them are Gardens with streams flowing under them. This is the great victory

85:12  Surely, the seizure of your Lord is most severe

85:13  Verily, He creates the first time, and He is the One Who will bring to life the second time

85:14  And He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving

85:15  The Lord of the Throne (controlling the whole universe) and the Lord of Honour

85:16  He (thoroughly) executes whatever He intends

85:17  Has the news of the troops reached you

85:18  The troops of Pharaoh and Thamud

85:19  But such disbelievers (persistently strive to) belie (the truth)

85:20  And Allah encompasses (them) from all sides

85:21  It is indeed the Glorious Qur’an

85:22  (Inscribed) in the very Well-guarded Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz)
