58:1  Certainly, God heard the speech of the one who disputes with you concerning her husband and she complains to God. And God hears your dialogue. Indeed, God is hearing, seeing.

58:2  Those of you who put away their women by likening their backs to the backs of their mothers, they are not their mothers; their mothers are not except those who gave birth to them; and indeed, they surely say bad of the speech and a lie. And indeed, God is surely pardoning, forgiving.

58:3  And those who put away their women by likening their backs to the backs of their mothers then return to what they said, then freeing of a neck before that they both touch each other. That, you are admonished with it. And God is aware of what you do.

58:4  And whoever does not find, then fasting of two consecutive months, before that they both touch each other. And whoever is not able, then feeding of sixty poor persons. That, that you may believe in God and His messenger. And those are the limits of God. And for the disbelievers is painful punishment.

58:5  Indeed, those who hinder God and His messenger will be abased as those before them were abased. And certainly, We have sent down clear signs; and for the disbelievers is shameful punishment.

58:6  On the day God will raise them all together, then He will inform them of what they did. God has counted it, while they forgot it; and God is a witness over everything.

58:7  Do you not see that God knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth? There is no secret discourse of three except He is the fourth of them; nor of five except He is the sixth of them; nor less than that; nor more except He is with them wherever they were. Then He will inform them of what they did on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, God knows everything.

58:8  Do you not see those who were forbidden from secret discourse, then they return to what they were forbidden from? And they hold secret discourse for sin and enmity and rebellion against the messenger; and when they come to you they greet you with what God does not greet you with; and they say in themselves, 'If only God punishes us for what we say.' Hell is enough for them. They will broil in it; and evil is the destination.

58:9  O those who believed! When you hold secret discourse then do not hold secret discourse for sin and enmity and rebellion against the messenger. And hold secret discourse for righteousness and piety. And fear God, the one to whom you will be gathered.

58:10  Secret discourse is only from the devil, that he may grieve those who believed. And he does not harm them anything, except with the permission of God. And upon God then let the believers rely.

58:11  O those who believed! When it is said to you, 'Make room in the sitting-places,' then make room. God will make room for you. And when it is said, 'Rise up,' then rise up. God will raise those who believed among you and those who were given knowledge degrees. And God is aware of what you do.

58:12  O those who believed! When you hold secret discourse with the messenger, then send forward charity before your secret discourse; that is better for you and more pure. Then if you do not find, then indeed, God is forgiving, compassionate.

58:13  Do you fear that you send forward charities before your secret discourse? Then when you did not and God relented on you, then be steadfast in the prayer, and give the alms, and obey God and His messenger. And God is aware of what you do.

58:14  Do you not see those who take for patrons people upon whom is the anger of God? They are not of you nor of them. And they swear upon the lie while they know.

58:15  God has prepared for them severe punishment; indeed they, evil is what they used to do.

58:16  They took their oaths as a covering, then they hindered from the way of God, so for them is shameful punishment.

58:17  Their wealth nor their children will not avail them anything from God; those are the fellows of the fire, they will dwell in it forever.

58:18  On the day God raises them all together, then they will swear to Him as they swear to you, and they will think that they are upon something. Lo, indeed they, they are the liars.

58:19  The devil has gained the mastery over them, then he made them forget the remembrance of God. Those are the party of the devil. Lo, indeed, the party of the devil, they are the losers.

58:20  Indeed, those who hinder God and His messenger, those are among the lowest.

58:21  God has written, 'Surely, I will definitely prevail, I and My messengers.' Indeed, God is strong, mighty.

58:22  You will not find people who believe in God and the Last Day loving who hindered God and His messenger, even if they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kinsfolk. Those, He wrote faith in their hearts, and He strengthened them with a spirit from Him; and He will make them enter gardens beneath which the rivers flow, to dwell forever in it. God is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him; those are the party of God. Lo, indeed, the party of God, they are the prosperous.
