| Arabic | | فَهَزَمُوهُم بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَقَتَلَ دَاوُودُ جَالُوتَ وَآتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْمُلْكَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَهُ مِمَّا يَشَاءُ وَلَوْلَا دَفْعُ اللَّهِ النَّاسَ بَعْضَهُم بِبَعْضٍ لَّفَسَدَتِ الْأَرْضُ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِين |  |

| and killed | waqatala | وَقَتَلَ | ق ت ل | |
| Jalut, | jālūta | جَالُوتَ | ج ل ت | |
| and gave him | waātāhu | وَءَاتَاهُ | ا ت ى | |
| the kingdom | l-mul'ka | الْمُلْكَ | م ل ك | |
| and the wisdom | wal-ḥik'mata | وَالْحِكْمَةَ | ح ك م | |
| and taught him | waʿallamahu | وَعَلَّمَهُ | ع ل م | |
| that which | mimmā | مِمَّا | م م ا | |
| He willed. | yashāu | يَشَاءُ | ش ى ء | |
| (for the) repelling | dafʿu | دَفْعُ | د ف ع | |
| (by) Allah, | l-lahi | اللَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| [the] people - | l-nāsa | النَّاسَ | ن و س | |
| some of them | baʿḍahum | بَعْضَهُمْ | ب ع ض | |
| with others, | bibaʿḍin | بِبَعْضٍ | ب ع ض | |
| certainly (would have) corrupted | lafasadati | لَفَسَدَتِ | ف س د | |
| the Earth, | l-arḍu | الْأَرْضُ | ا ر ض | |
| [and] but | walākinna | وَلَكِنَّ | ل ك ن | |
| (of) bounty | faḍlin | فَضْلٍ | ف ض ل | |
| the worlds. | l-ʿālamīna | الْعَالَمِينَ | ع ل م | |
