and so they say, [as it were:] “Our hearts are veiled from whatever thou callest us to, [O Muhammad,] and in our ears is deafness, and between us and thee is a barrier. Do, then, [whatever thou wilt, whereas,] behold, we shall do [as we have always done]!&rdquo

They say, “Our hearts are veiled against what you are calling us to, there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do ˹whatever you want˺ and so shall we!”

and they say, "There is a barrier between our hearts and what you call us to, and there is heaviness in our ears. There is a curtain between us and you. So do whatever you want, and so shall we."

waqālū qulūbunā fī akinnatin mimmā tadʿūnā ilayhi wafī ādhāninā waqrun wamin bayninā wabaynika ḥijābun fa-iʿ'mal innanā ʿāmilūn

And they say, "Our hearts (are) in coverings from what you call us to it, and in our ears (is) deafness, and from between us and between you (is) a screen. So work, indeed, we (are) working."

and so they say, [as it were:] “Our hearts are veiled from whatever thou callest us to, [O Muhammad,] and in our ears is deafness, and between us and thee is a barrier. Do, then, [whatever thou wilt, whereas,] behold, we shall do [as we have always done]!&rdquo

And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting

They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"

They say, “Our hearts are veiled against what you are calling us to, there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do ˹whatever you want˺ and so shall we!”

and they say, "There is a barrier between our hearts and what you call us to, and there is heaviness in our ears. There is a curtain between us and you. So do whatever you want, and so shall we."

And they say, Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we

And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you, so work, we too are working

And they said: Our hearts are sheathed from that to which thou hast called us and in our ears is a heaviness and between us and between thee is a partition. So work. Truly, we, too, are ones who work.

They say: "Our hearts are [covered] with wrappers against what you invite us to; in our ears there [rings] a dullness while a curtain [hangs] between us and you. So act, for we (too) are acting!"

They say: “Our hearts are covered (screened) from that to which you invite us, there is deafness in our ears and there is a screen between us and you; so you work (your way) and surely we are working (our way).”

They say, “Our hearts are under coverings from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is deafness, and between us and you there is a veil. So do [as you will]; we shall do [as we will].

And they said: “Our hearts are under coverings against that to which you invite us; and in our ears is a blockage; and between us and between you is a barrier. So carry on your deeds, surely we are those who act (according to our inclinations and knowledge).”

They say: "Our hearts are concealed in veils from the faith to which you call us, there is deafness in our ears and there is a barrier between you and us: so you work your way and we keep on working our way."

And they say, 'Our hearts are screened from what you call us to, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a barrier. So do what you want, and so will we.'

And they have said, "Our hearts are under lids (literally: into lids) from what you call us to, and in our ears is an obstruction, and between us and you (The Prophet) is a curtain; so do (according to your belief); surely we are doing (according to ours)."

They say, "Our hearts are covered against and our ears are deaf to whatever you (Muhammad) invite us to. There is a barrier between us and you. So act as you please and we shall act as we please"

And they say, .Our hearts are (wrapped) in covers against that (faith) to which you invite us, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between you and us. So, do (in your way). We too are doing (in our own way)

And so they say, "Our hearts are veiled from what you invite us to, and (consider) there is deafness in our ears, and that between us and you is a barrier. So, do as you will (mind your business), and, behold, we shall do as we have been doing."

They, (the unbelievers) say, "Our hearts are sheathed, immune from being affected by anything you might say. Our ears are deaf to your call. There is a barrier between you and us, and it sets us apart. So, do as you please and we will do as we please."

And they (those who do not hear) say: "Our hearts are (hidden) behind veils, from that to which you invite us; And in our ears is a deafness, and between us and you is a screen: So you do (whatever you wish); As for us, we shall do (whatever we wish!)"

And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working."

And they said: "Our hearts are sealed from what you invite us to, and in our ears is a deafness, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do what you will, and so will we."

They say, ‘Our hearts are encased against [the faith] you call us to; our ears are heavy; there is a barrier between us and you. So you do whatever you want, and so shall we.’

And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereUnto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are Workers

And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)."

They say, ´Our hearts are covered up against what you call us to and there is a heaviness in our ears. There is a screen between us and you. So act — we are certainly acting.´

They say: "Our hearts are wrapped in coverings against what you call us to, and in our ears is heaviness, and between us and you is a veil. So take action (such as is in your power), as we are taking action (such as we wish to take)."

They say, ‘Our hearts are in veils [which shut them off] from what you invite us to, and there is a deafness in our ears, and there is a curtain between us and you. So act [as your faith requires]; we too are acting [according to our own].&rsquo

And they say, "Our heart are under veils from that to which you call us, and there is a deafness in our ears, and a screen hangs between us and you. So do you (as you will), we too are doing (what we will)."

And they said: our hearts are in covers from what you call us to it, and in our ears is deafness, and there is a barrier between us and between you, so do (what you want), and indeed we are doers (as we please).

They say, “Our hearts are under veils, concealed from that which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen. So do what you will, and for us, we will do what we will.

They say, “Our hearts are hardy to what you invite us to; we are hard of hearing and there is a barrier between us and you, therefore do as you like, and we shall do what we like.”

They say: "Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting."

And they said: "Our hearts are sealed from what you invite us to, and in our ears is a deafness, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do what you will, and so will we.

And they say, "Our minds are immune to what you call us to, our ears are deaf thereto, and there is a barrier between us and you. So you act your way, we do indeed act our way."

And they said, 'Our hearts are in covers from that to which you invite us and in our ears are plugs and between us and you there is a curtain, therefore you do your work and we are doing ours.

They said, "Our minds are made up, our ears are deaf to your message, and a barrier separates us from you. Do what you want, and so will we."

They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working.

And they say: Our hearts are under coverings from that to which thou callest us, and there is a deafness in our ears, and there is a veil between us and thee, so act, we too are acting

And they said: "Our hearts/minds (are) in covers/protections from what you call us to it, and in our ears (is a) weight/deafness , and from between us and between you (is) a divider/partition , so make/do , that we truly are making/doing ."

The disbelievers say: “Qur’an has no way open to reach our hearts. It has divided us; you go your way and we will follow ours.”

And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you - therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.”

And they say, `Our hearts are secure under coverings against that which thou callest us, and in our ears there is a heaviness, and between us and thee is a veil. So carry on thy work; we, too, are working.

And they say: ‘Our hearts are in covers against that to which you call us, and in our ears is heaviness (of deafness), and between us and you is a barrier. So you keep doing (your) work and we do our work.

And they say, `Our hearts are (fortified) within a covering against that (Book) towards which you call us. We are deaf in the ear and there exists a barrier between us and you. So carry on your work (according to your creed) and surely we are the workers (in accordance with our own doctrines).

And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)."

They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!

And they say, our hearts are veiled from the doctrine to which thou invitest us; and there is a deafness in our ears, and a curtain between us and thee: Wherefore act thou, as thou shalt think fit; for we shall act according to our own sentiments

and say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou dost call us to, and in our ears is dullness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act thou; verily, we are acting too!

And they say, "Our hearts are under shelter from thy teachings, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act as thou thinkest right: we verily shall act as we think right."

They say: ‘Our hearts are proof against that to which you call us. Our ears are stopped, and a veil stands between ourselves and you. Do as you will, and so will we.‘

They say, “Our hearts are veiled from that to which you invite us. A deafness is in our ears. A screen is between us and you. Do [what you will], and we will do [what we will].”

They say: "Our hearts are [covered] with wrappers against what you invite us to; in our ears there [rings] a dullness while a curtain [hangs] between us and you. So act, for we (too) are acting!"

They say, “Our consciousness is cocooned from that to which you call us, there is heaviness in our ears, and there is a curtain between you and us! So, do whatever you may, we too are doing.”

They say, “Our hearts are under protection from that which you invite us to, and in our ears is heaviness, and between us and you is a veil, so you ( do your ) work, we ( too ) are working.”

And they say: "Our hearts O Muhammad are shielded against what you induce us to accept as a matter of fact, and our ears are deaf and in fact you might say there is a screen interposed between us and you, and so, you just proceed as you have begun; we are doing what we will"

They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears in a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)"

And they say, "Our hearts (are) in coverings from what you call us to it, and in our ears (is) deafness, and between us and between you (is) a screen. So work, indeed, we (are) working.
