Indeed, We [We] offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, but they refused to bear it and they feared from it; but bore it the man. Indeed, he was unjust ignorant.
Verily, We did offer the trust [of reason and volition] to the heavens, and the earth, and the mountains: but they refused to bear it because they were afraid of it. Yet man took it up - for, verily, he has always been prone to be most wicked, most foolish
Lo! We offered the trust unto the heavens and the earth and the hills, but they shrank from bearing it and were afraid of it. And man assumed it. Lo! he hath proved a tyrant and a fool

Truly We, We did offer Al-Amanah (‘The trust’, or choice in choosing and adopting the Prescribed Way of Allah, inspite of being semi-independent in certain aspects) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined that they may bear it and became apprehensive of it; but the human personality (accepted this burden and) bore it. Verily, thus he became unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its responsibilities and obligations)
The fact is that We offered the Trust ( "freedom of choice") to the heavens, to the earth and to the mountains, but they refused to undertake it and were afraid, but man undertook it. He was indeed unjust and foolish

Yet man, with his free will, is the only one who breaches this trust of compliance. For, verily, he wrongs himself without knowing it. (Haml = Accept or bear and = Betray the trust - Like Haram = Forbiddingly bad and = Sacred)
Indeed, We presented this trust (the Qur´an) to the sky, the earth and the mountains, to see if they would accept the responsibility that goes with it. They shied away and declined to bear it. But man assumed the obligation. Man was indeed cruel (to himself) and ignorant (of its importance)
Truly, We did offer the trust, duty and responsibility to the heavens, and the earth, and the mountains; But they refused to undertake it, because they were afraid of it: But man undertook it— Verily, he was being ignorant (and foolish about the responsibility)—

I (God) offered the responsibility [freedom of choice and being God’s vice-gerent] to the heavens, the earth and the mountains [this indicates that the matter is also a living species having a spirit of its own. After all, how can its electrons circle around their nucleolus without energy and spirit?], they refused to bear it[as they were afraid of failing in such a big mission.] Only man accepted this mission; how ignorant this unjust creature is
