| Arabic | | وَكَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَ لِكَثِيرٍ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قَتْلَ أَوْلَادِهِمْ شُرَكَاؤُهُمْ لِيُرْدُوهُمْ وَلِيَلْبِسُوا عَلَيْهِمْ دِينَهُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا فَعَلُوهُ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُون |  |

| their partners - | shurakāuhum | شُرَكَاؤُهُمْ | ش ر ك | |
| so that they may ruin them | liyur'dūhum | لِيُرْدُوهُمْ | ر د ى | |
| and that they make confusing | waliyalbisū | وَلِيَلْبِسُوا | ل ب س | |
| to them | ʿalayhim | عَلَيْهِمْ | ع ل ى | |
| their religion. | dīnahum | دِينَهُمْ | د ى ن | |
| (had) willed | shāa | شَاءَ | ش ى ء | |
| they (would) have done so. | faʿalūhu | فَعَلُوهُ | ف ع ل | |
| So leave them | fadharhum | فَذَرْهُمْ | و ذ ر | |
| they invent. | yaftarūna | يَفْتَرُونَ | ف ر ى | |
