| Arabic | | وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْبَحْرَانِ هَٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَائِغٌ شَرَابُهُ وَهَٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَمِن كُلٍّ تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا وَتَرَى الْفُلْكَ فِيهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبْتَغُوا مِن فَضْلِهِ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُون | |

are alike | yastawī | يَسْتَوِي | س و ى | |
the two seas. | l-baḥrāni | الْبَحْرَانِ | ب ح ر | |
(is) fresh, | ʿadhbun | عَذْبٌ | ع ذ ب | |
sweet, | furātun | فُرَاتٌ | ف ر ت | |
pleasant | sāighun | سَائِغٌ | س و غ | |
its drink, | sharābuhu | شَرَابُهُ | ش ر ب | |
and this | wahādhā | وَهَذَا | ه ا ذ | |
(and) bitter. | ujājun | أُجَاجٌ | ا ج ج | |
you eat | takulūna | تَأْكُلُونَ | ا ك ل | |
fresh | ṭariyyan | طَرِيًّا | ط ر ى | |
and you extract | watastakhrijūna | وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ | خ ر ج | |
ornaments | ḥil'yatan | حِلْيَةً | ح ل ى | |
you wear them, | talbasūnahā | تَلْبَسُونَهَا | ل ب س | |
and you see | watarā | وَتَرَى | ر ا ى | |
the ships | l-ful'ka | الْفُلْكَ | ف ل ك | |
cleaving, | mawākhira | مَوَاخِرَ | م خ ر | |
so that you may seek | litabtaghū | لِتَبْتَغُوا | ب غ ى | |
His Bounty, | faḍlihi | فَضْلِهِ | ف ض ل | |
and that you may | walaʿallakum | وَلَعَلَّكُمْ | ل ع ل ل | |
be grateful. | tashkurūna | تَشْكُرُونَ | ش ك ر | |
