| Arabic | | ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوا إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ النَّاسِ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَسْكَنَةُ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الْأَنبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوا يَعْتَدُون |  |

| the poverty. | l-maskanatu | الْمَسْكَنَةُ | س ك ن | |
| (is) because | bi-annahum | بِأَنَّهُمْ | ا ن ن | |
| they used to | kānū | كَانُوا | ك و ن | |
| disbelieve | yakfurūna | يَكْفُرُونَ | ك ف ر | |
| in (the) Verses | biāyāti | بِءَايَاتِ | ا ى ا | |
| (of) Allah | l-lahi | اللَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| and they killed | wayaqtulūna | وَيَقْتُلُونَ | ق ت ل | |
| the Prophets | l-anbiyāa | الْأَنْبِيَاءَ | ن ب ا | |
| without | bighayri | بِغَيْرِ | غ ى ر | |
| (is) because | bimā | بِمَا | ب م ا | |
| they disobeyed | ʿaṣaw | عَصَوْا | ع ص ى | |
| and they used to | wakānū | وَكَانُوا | ك و ن | |
| transgress. | yaʿtadūna | يَعْتَدُونَ | ع د و | |
