| Arabic | | وَقَارُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا سَابِقِين |  |

| but they were arrogant | fa-is'takbarū | فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا | ك ب ر | |
| the earth, | l-arḍi | الْأَرْضِ | ا ر ض | |
| they could | kānū | كَانُوا | ك و ن | |
| outstrip Us. | sābiqīna | سَابِقِينَ | س ب ق | |
