| Arabic | | أَوْ كَصَيِّبٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ فِيهِ ظُلُمَاتٌ وَرَعْدٌ وَبَرْقٌ يَجْعَلُونَ أَصَابِعَهُمْ فِي آذَانِهِم مِّنَ الصَّوَاعِقِ حَذَرَ الْمَوْتِ وَاللَّهُ مُحِيطٌ بِالْكَافِرِين |  |

| their ears | ādhānihim | ءَاذَانِهِمْ | ا ذ ن | |
| the thunderclaps | l-ṣawāʿiqi | الصَّوَاعِقِ | ص ع ق | |
| (in) fear (of) | ḥadhara | حَذَرَ | ح ذ ر | |
| [the] death. | l-mawti | الْمَوْتِ | م و ت | |
| And Allah | wal-lahu | وَاللَّهُ | ا ل ه | |
| (is) [the One Who] encompasses | muḥīṭun | مُحِيطٌ | ح و ط | |
| the disbelievers. | bil-kāfirīna | بِالْكَافِرِينَ | ك ف ر | |
