| Arabic | | سَيَقُولُ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَا وَلَّاهُمْ عَن قِبْلَتِهِمُ الَّتِي كَانُوا عَلَيْهَا قُل لِّلَّهِ الْمَشْرِقُ وَالْمَغْرِبُ يَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيم |  |

| they were used to | kānū | كَانُوا | ك و ن | |
| [on it]." | ʿalayhā | عَلَيْهَا | ع ل ى | |
| "For Allah | lillahi | لِلَّهِ | ا ل ه | |
| (is) the east | l-mashriqu | الْمَشْرِقُ | ش ر ق | |
| and the west. | wal-maghribu | وَالْمَغْرِبُ | غ ر ب | |
| He guides | yahdī | يَهْدِي | ه د ى | |
| He wills | yashāu | يَشَاءُ | ش ى ء | |
| a path | ṣirāṭin | صِرَاطٍ | ص ر ط | |
| straight." | mus'taqīmin | مُسْتَقِيمٍ | ق و م | |
