alladhīna qālū li-ikh'wānihim waqaʿadū law aṭāʿūnā mā qutilū qul fa-id'raū ʿan anfusikumu l-mawta in kuntum ṣādiqīn
Those who said about their brothers while they sat, "If they (had) obeyed us not they would have been killed." Say, "Then avert from yourselves [the] death if you are truthful.
they who, having themselves held back [from fighting, later] said of their [slain] brethren, "Had they but paid heed to us, they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert, then, death from yourselves, if what you say is true!"
Those who, while they sat at home, said of their brethren (who were fighting for the cause of Allah): If they had been guided by us they would not have been slain. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Then avert death from yourselves if ye are truthful
(They are) the ones that say, (of their brethren slain), while they themselves sit (at ease): "If only they had listened to us they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert death from your own selves, if ye speak the truth."
Those who sat at home, saying about their brothers, “Had they listened to us, they would not have been killed.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Try not to die if what you say is true!”
As for those who remained behind, and said of their brothers, "If they obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Prevent death from reaching you, if you are telling the truth."
Those who stayed behind, said of their brothers, Had they listened to us, they would not have been killed. Say to them, Ward off death from yourselves, then, if what you say be true
Those who said of their brethren whilst they (themselves) held back: Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed. Say: Then avert death from yourselves if you speak the truth
Those who said to their brothers while they sat back: If they obeyed us, they would not have been slain. Say: Then, drive off death from yourselves, if you had been ones who are sincere.
Those who tell their brethren while they remain behind: "if they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed," should be told: ´Avert death from yourselves if you are so truthful!"
Those who said about their killed brethren while they sat at home: “If they had listened to us, they would not have been killed.” Say: “Avert the death from your own selves, if you are truthful.”
Those who said of their brethren, while they were sitting [at home], “Had they obeyed us, they would not have been slain.” Say, “Then ward off death from yourselves, if you are truthful.
(It is) those who said of their brethren while they (themselves) stayed back: “If they had obeyed us they would not have been slain.” Say: “Then avert death from your selves if you are truthful.”
(They are) the ones that say, (of their brethren slain), while they themselves sit (at ease): "If only they had listened to us they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert death from your own selves, if ye speak the truth."

Who said to their brethren, (i.e. after they returned from fighting) and they (i.e. the hypocrites) (themselves) sat back, "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then parry yourselves away from death in case you are (truly) sincere."
There are those who themselves did not join the others in fighting for the cause of God and said about their brothers, "Had they listened to us and stayed at home, they would not have been killed." (Muhammad), tell them to save themselves from death if they are true in their claim
Those who said about their brethren, while themselves sitting, .Had they obeyed us, they would have not been killed. Say, .Then avert death from yourselves if you are true
Those who sat back at home said that if their brothers who were fighting in the Cause of Allah, had listened to them they would not have been slain. Say (O Messenger), "Avert death from yourselves if you are truthful."
They sat (idly) at home and said about their brethren (who fought in the path of Allah), "Had they listened to us, they would not have been killed." Say (to them), "Then (when your time comes) avert death off yourself, if you are truthful."
(They are) the ones who said, (about the killed men) while they themselves sat (at ease): "If only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed." Say: "Hold back death from your own selves, if you speak the truth."
Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful."
Those who remained and said to their brothers: "If they obeyed us they would not have been killed." Say: "Then avert death away from yourselves if you are truthful!"
As for those who stayed behind, and said of their brothers, ‘If only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed,’ tell them [Prophet], ‘Ward off death from yourselves, if what you say is true.’
They say of their brethren, while they themselves staid: had they obeyed us they had not been slain. Say thou: then repel death from yourselves if ye say sooth
To those who sit at home and say of their brothers: "They would never have been killed had they listened to us, say: "Drive away death from your midst if what you say is true."
They are those who said of their brothers, when they themselves had stayed behind, ´If they had only obeyed us, they would not have been killed.´ Say, ´Then ward off death from yourselves if you are telling the truth.´

Those who told their brothers to remain behind with them, and then said, “If only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed.” Say to them: “Ward off death from yourselves, if you are telling the truth.
These are the ones who stayed away, saying about their brothers: ´Had they followed us, they would not have been slain.´ Say: ´If you speak the truth then avert death when it comes to you.´
Those who remained and said to their brothers: "If they obeyed us they would not have been killed." Say: "Then avert death away from yourselves if you are truthful!"
Those were the ones who had said of their brethren, whilst they themselves sat back home, "Had they listened to us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Avert death, then, from your own selves, if you are truthful!"
Those who said about their brothers and while them selves remained behind, 'Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed.' Say you, 'then avert your own death if you are truthful.'
They said of their kinsmen, as they stayed behind, "Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent your own death, if you are truthful."
Who said to their brothers and they themselves had stayed behind 'Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed. ' Say to them: 'Avert death from yourselves then, if what you say is true!
Those who said of their brethren whilst they (themselves) held back: Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed. Say: Avert death from yourselves, if you are truthful
Those who said to their brothers and they sat/remained behind : "If they obeyed us, they would not (have) been killed." Say: "So push/drive away (prevent) from yourselves the death if you were truthful."
When they talk about their [martyr] kinsmen, they say: “If they had listened to us and stayed behind, they would not have been killed.” Tell them (Mohammad): “If you are so smart [and know how to prevent the death,] then avoid your own death.”
Those who spoke regarding their brothers while they themselves stayed back at home, “Had they listened to us, they would not have been slain”; say (to them, O dear Prophet Mohammed - peace and blessings be upon him), “Then avert your own death, if you are truthful!”
It is these who said to their brethren, while they themselves remained behind, `If they had obeyed us, they would not have been slain.' Say, `Then avert death from yourselves, if you are truthful.
(They) are the ones who said about their brothers, whilst they themselves stayed back (home): ‘Had they accepted our counsel, they would not have been slain.’ Say: ‘Protect yourselves from death if you are truthful.
It is these who said of their brethren whilst they (themselves) stayed behind (declining the field), `If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed.' Say, `Then avert death from yourselves if you are right.
(They are) the ones who said about their killed brethren while they themselves sat (at home): "If only they had listened to us, they would not have been killed." Say: "Avert death from your ownselves, if you speak the truth."
who said of their brothers (and they themselves held back), 'Had they obeyed us, they would not have been slain.' Say: 'Then avert death from yourselves, if you speak truly.
who said of their brethren, while themselves staid at home, if they had obeyed us, they had not been slain. Say, then keep back death from yourselves, if ye say truth
Those who said of their brethren, whilst they themselves stayed at home, 'Had they obeyed us they would not have been killed.' Say, 'Ward off from yourselves death, if ye do speak the truth.
Who said of their brethren while themselves sat at home, "Had they obeyed us, they had not been slain." SAY: Keep back death from yourselves if ye speak truth
Such were the men who, as they sat at home, said of their brothers: ‘Had they listened to us, they would not have been slain.‘ Say: ‘Ward off death from yourselves, then, if what you say be true!‘
(The unbelievers) say, about their brothers, while they themselves just sit, “If only (those soldiers) had listened to us, they would not have been killed.” Say, “Avert your own deaths if you are telling the truth.
Those who tell their brethren while they remain behind: "if they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed," should be told: 'Avert death from yourselves if you are so truthful!"
Such were they who, having themselves stayed behind, said of their brothers: “If only they had listened to us, they would not have been slain.†Say to them: “Ward off death from yourselves, then, if what you say be true.â€
Those who did not go to battle said, in regards to their brothers, “If they had followed us they would not have been killed.” Say, “If what you say is true, keep death away from yourselves if you can!”
those who said about their brethren while themselves sat (at home) : ' Had they obeyed us, they would not have been killed '. Say: ' Avert death from yourselves then, if you are truthful
It was those who stayed at home who had something to say in defense and extenuation of their conduct. They made unfavourable comments on their fellow Muslims who were slain in battle; They said; "Had they obeyed us and remained here, they would not have been slain." Say to them O Muhammad. "If this be the case, then avert death and prevent it from befalling you if indeed you are declaring the truth"
Those who said about their brothers (who were slain in the cause of Allah), while they themselves sat at home, "Had they obeyed us they would not have been killed." Say (to them), "Then avert death from yourselves, if what you say is true."
(They are) the ones that say, (of their brethren slain), while they themselves sit (at ease): "If only they had listened to us they would not have been slain." Say: "Avert death from your own selves, if ye speak the truth."
