He said, "What (was) your affair when you sought to seduce Yusuf from himself?" They said, Forbid Allah!" Not we know about him any evil." Said (the) wife (of) Aziz, "Now (is) manifest the truth. I sought to seduce him from himself, and indeed, he (is) surely of the truthful.
[Thereupon the King sent for those women; and when they came,] he asked: "What was it that you hoped to achieve when you sought to make Joseph yield himself unto you?" The women answered: "God save us! We did not perceive the least evil [intention] on his part!" [And] the wife of Joseph's former master exclaimed: "Now has the truth come to light! It was I who sought to make him yield himself unto me - whereas he, behold, was indeed speaking the truth!"
He (the king) (then sent for those women and) said: What happened when ye asked an evil act of Joseph? They answered: Allah Blameless! We know no evil of him. Said the wife of the ruler: Now the truth is out. I asked of him an evil act, and he is surely of the truthful
(The king) said (to the ladies): "What was your affair when ye did seek to seduce Joseph from his (true) self?" The ladies said: "Allah preserve us! no evil know we against him!" Said the 'Aziz's wife: "Now is the truth manifest (to all): it was I who sought to seduce him from his (true) self: He is indeed of those who are (ever) true (and virtuous)
The King asked ˹the women˺, “What did you get when you tried to seduce Joseph?” They replied, “Allah forbid! We know nothing indecent about him.” Then the Chief Minister’s wife admitted, “Now the truth has come to light. It was I who tried to seduce him, and he is surely truthful.
[The King sent for the women, and, when they came,] he asked, "What was it that you hoped to achieve when you tried to seduce Joseph?" The women answered, "God save us. We know nothing bad of him." The wife of Joseph's former master said, "Now the truth is out. It was I who tried to seduce him. He is an honest man."
The king asked the women, What was the truth of the affair in which you tried to seduce Joseph?The women said, God forbid! We know no evil of him. The wife of the nobleman said, The truth has now come to light. It was I who tried to seduce him; he is surely an honest man
He said: How was your affair when you sought Yusuf to yield himself (to you)? They said: Remote is Allah (from imperfection), we knew of no evil on his part. The chief's wife said: Now has the truth become established: I sought him to yield himself (to me), and he is most surely of the truthful ones
He said: What was your (f) business when you solicited Joseph, enticing him to evil? They (f) said: God save us! We knew not any evil against him. The woman of the great one said: Now The Truth was discovered! I sought to solicit him, enticing him to evil. And, truly, he is among the ones who are sincere.
He said: "What were you after when you tried to seduce Joseph? The women said: "God forbid! We have not known about any evil concerning him." The official´s wife said: "Now the Truth has prevailed! I tried to seduce him; he is someone who is telling the truth.
He (king) said (to the women): “What do you say about the affair when you did seek to seduce Joseph?” The women said: “Allah forbid! We don’t know evil against him!” The wife of Al-Aziz said: “Now the truth is clear, it was I who sought to seduce him. He is surely of the truthful.”
The king said, “Bring him to me!” So when the messenger came to him he said, “Return to your lord and ask him, ‘What of the women who cut their hands? Surely my Lord knows well their scheming!’
(Al-Malik asked the women who were involved in the plot and) said: “What (was) the matter with you when you ladies seduced Yusuf against his inclination?” The ladies said: “He kept away (from sin) for (fear of) Allah. We did not mark in him any evil.” The wife of Al-Aziz said: “Now has the truth come to light. I seduced him against his inclination, and surely, he is indeed of those who speak the truth
The king questioned those women, saying: "What do you say about the incident when you attempted to seduce Yusuf?" They replied: "God forbid! We Know of no evil on his part." The `Aziz’s wife said: "Now that the truth has come to light, it was I who attempted to seduce him. In fact he is absolutely truthful."
He said, 'What was the matter with you, women, when you tried to seduce Joseph?' They said, 'God forbid! We knew of no evil committed by him.' The governor's wife then said, 'Now the truth is out. It was I who tried to seduce him, and he is telling the truth.'
He said, (i.e., the king said to the women) "What was your concern as you solicited Yusuf?" They said, " Allah forbid! In no way do we know any odious (deeds) against him." The wife of the governor (Literally: the ever-mighty Al-Aiz) said, "Now the truth has come to light; I did solicit him; and surely he is indeed one of the sincere
The King asked the women about their attempt to seduce Joseph. They replied, "God forbid! We do not know of any bad in Joseph." The wife of the King said, "Now the truth has come to light. It was I who tried to seduce Joseph. He is, certainly, a truthful man."
He (the king) said, .What was your case, O women, when you seduced Yusuf?. They said, .God forbid, we know of no evil in him. The governor‘s wife said, .Now the truth has come to light. I did seduce him, and he is surely truthful
The King sent for those women, and asked them, "What happened when you tried to seduce Joseph?" They answered, "Good Lord! We found no evil in him." The wife of the governor (Zelicha) couldn't hold back, "Now the truth is out. I was the one at fault and he is surely truthful."
The king said, "Ladies! What about it? Did you really try to seduce him?" The women said, "We swear by Allah, we did not find anything evil in him!" The chief´s woman said, "It has all come out now! The truth is, it was I who tried to seduce him! He is surely telling the truth!"
(The king) said (to the ladies): "What was your affair when you wanted to seduce Yusuf (Joseph) from his (true) self?" The ladies said: "Allah save us! We know of no evil against him! The ‘Aziz's wife said: "Now the truth is clear (to all): It was I who wanted to seduce him from his (true) self: He is surely from those who are (always) true (and noble)
Said [the king to the women], "What was your condition when you sought to seduce Joseph?" They said, "Perfect is Allah ! We know about him no evil." The wife of al-'Azeez said, "Now the truth has become evident. It was I who sought to seduce him, and indeed, he is of the truthful
He said: "What is your plea that you tried to seduce Joseph from himself" They said: "God forbid that we would do any harm to him." The wife of the Governor said: "Now the truth must be known, I did seek to seduce Joseph from himself and he is of the truthful ones."
The king asked the women, ‘What happened when you tried to seduce Joseph?’ They said, ‘God forbid! We know nothing bad of him!’ and the governor’s wife said, ‘Now the truth is out: it was I who tried to seduce him- he is an honest man.’
He said: What was the matter with you when ye solicited Yusuf against himself! They said: how perfect is God! we knew not of any evil against him. The wife of the Aziz said: how hath the truth come to light, even I, solicited him against himself, and verily he is of the truth-tellers
The king asked the women: "What was the affair of seducing Joseph?" "God preserve us," they said; "we know no evil against him." The wife of the minister said: "The truth has now come out. It was I who desired to seduce him, but he is indeed a man of virtue." -
He said, ´What was this past affair of yours when you solicited Yusuf?´ Then they said ´Allah forbid! We know no bad of him.´ The governor´s wife then said, ´The truth has now emerged. Indeed I tried to seduce him then and he has simply told the honest truth.
(The king had the woman assembled before him and) he said: "What happened (between you and Joseph) when you sought to enjoy yourselves by him?" They said: "God save us! We perceived no evil at all on his part!" And the wife of the minister said: "Now the truth has come to light. It was I who sought to enjoy myself by him. He was indeed truthful (in all he said and true to his lord)."
The king said, ‘What was your business, women, when you solicited Joseph?’ They said, ‘Heaven be praised! We know of no evil in him.’ The prince’s wife said, ‘Now the truth has come to light! It was I who solicited him, and he is indeed telling the truth.’
He (the king sent for the women and) said, "What happened when you sought to seduce Joseph?" They said, "Allah preserve us! We know no evil of him." Said the wife of the Minister, "Now is the truth exposed! It was I who sought to
He said (to the women): what was your business when you wanted to seduce Joseph? They said: God forbid, we do not know anything bad about him. The wife of the powerful one said: now the truth is cleared, I wanted to seduce him, and he is certainly truthful
The king said to the ladies, “What was your state when you sought to seduce Joseph from himself?” The ladies said, “God preserve us, we do not know anything bad about him.” Said the Aziz’s wife, “Now the truth is manifest. It was I who sought to seduce him from himself. He is indeed of those who are truthful
So the King asked the women, “What happened when you tried to seduce Yusuf?” They said, “Allah the Great! We know nothing bad about him.” Then the captain’s wife said, “Now the truth is out. It was me who tried to seduce him, and he told the truth.”
Thereupon the king asked the women: "What happened when you sought to tempt Joseph?" They said: "Allah forbid! We found no evil in him." The chief´s wife said: "Now the truth has come to light. It was I who sought to tempt him. He is indeed truthful."
He said: "What is your plea that you tried to seduce Joseph from himself?" They said: "God be sought! We know of no evil on his part." The wife of the governor said: "Now the truth must be known, I did seek to seduce Joseph from himself and he is of the truthful ones."
The king called for the women and asked them, "What have you to say on the affair when you sought to seduce Joseph?" They said, "Glory to Allah! We knew of no evil on his part." And the chieftain's wife said, "Now that the truth has come out, it was I who tried to seduce him, and he is indeed the truthful one."
The King said 'O women' what business you had when you desired to allure the heart of Yusuf. They said. 'Holy is Allah, we did not find any evil in him. The wife of Aziz said, 'now the reality is discovered, I desired to allure his heart and no doubt, he is truthful.
(The king) said (to the women), "What do you know about the incident when you tried to seduce Joseph?" They said, "GOD forbid; we did not know of anything evil committed by him." The wife of the governor said, "Now the truth has prevailed. I am the one who tried to seduce him, and he was the truthful one.
'What was your business, women, ' he asked, 'when you solicited Joseph? ' 'Allah save us! ' they replied. 'We know no evil against him. ' The Governor's wife said: 'The truth has been discovered at last; I solicited him; he is among the truthful
(The king) said: What was your affair when you sought to seduce Joseph? They said: Holy Allah! We knew of no evil on his part. The chief’s wife said: Now has the truth become manifest. I sought to seduce him and he is surely of the truthful
He said: "What (is) your matter/affair/concern when you (P/F) seduced/enticed Joseph from himself." They said: "Remoteness to God , we did not know from (of) bad/evil/harm on him." Elaziz's/the Egyptian ruler's woman (wife) said: "Now the truth appeared , I seduced/enticed him from himself, and that he is from (E) the truthful."
The king asked the women about the incidence. They all said: “God have mercy on us; we found not a bit of evil in Joseph. When it came to the woman who had accused him at first place, she said: “Now that the truth has sipped out, I confess that it was I who tried to seduce him. He is indeed a virtuous man.”
The king said, "O women! What was your role when you tried to entice Yusuf?" They answered, "Purity is to Allah - we did not find any immorality in him"; said the wife of the governor, "Now the truth is out; it was I who tried to entice him, and indeed he is truthful."
The King said to the women, `What was the truth of that matter of yours when you sought to seduce Joseph against his will?' They said, `He kept away from sin for fear of ALLAH - we have known no evil against him.' The wife of Aziz said, `Now has the truth come to light. It was I who sought to seduce him against his will and surely, he is of the truthful.
The king (called all the women including Zulaykha and) asked: ‘What happened to you when you (all) attempted to seduce Yusuf (Joseph) to turn him away from righteousness? (Explain what that affair was.) They all (unanimously) uttered: ‘Allah save us! We have not noticed any evil in Yusuf (Joseph).’ The wife of ‘Aziz (of Egypt, Zulaykha, too) spoke: ‘The truth has now become evident. (The fact is that) it was I who sought to seduce him for my purpose, and it is surely he who is truthful.
(The king then sent for the ladies and to them) he said, `What was that important matter (in reality) that you had in view when you sought to seduce Joseph against his will?' They said, `He kept away (from committing sin) for the sake of Allah. We did not perceive the least evil (intention) on his part.' The wife of the `Aziz said, `Now the truth has come to light (at last). It was I who sought to seduce him against his will and most surely he is of the truthful.
(The King) said (to the women): "What was your affair when you did seek to seduce Yoosuf (Joseph)?" The women said: "Allah forbid! No evil know we against him!" The wife of Al-Azeez said: "Now the truth is manifest (to all), it was I who sought to seduce him, and he is surely of the truthful."
'What was your business, women,' he said, 'when you solicited Joseph?' 'God save us!' they said. 'We know no evil against him.' The Governor's wife said, 'Now the truth is at last discovered; I solicited him; he is a truthful man
And when the women were assembled before the king, he said unto them, what was your design, when ye solicited Joseph to unlawful love? They answered, God be praise! We know not any ill of him. The nobleman's wife said, now is the truth become manifest: I solicited him, to lie with me; and he is one of those who speak truth
He said, 'What was your design when ye desired Joseph for his person?' They said, 'God forbid! we know no bad of him.' Said the wife of the prince, ' Now does the truth appear! I desired him for his person and, verily, he is of those who tell the truth.
Then said the Prince to the women, "What was your purpose when ye solicited Joseph?" They said, "God keep us! we know not any ill of him." The wife of the Prince said, "Now doth the truth appear. It was I who would have led him into unlawful love, and he is one of the truthful."
The king questioned the women, saying: ‘What made you attempt to seduce Joseph?‘ ‘God forbid!‘ they said. ‘We know no evil of him.‘ ‘Now the truth must come to light,‘ said the Prince‘s wife. ‘It was I who attempted to seduce him. He has told the truth.‘
(The king) questioned (the ladies), “What was going on when you were trying to seduce Joseph against his will?” The ladies answered, “God save us! We have nothing against him.” Aziz’s wife said, “Now the truth is out. It was I who tried to seduce him against his will. He is truly among those who are virtuous.
He said: "What were you after when you tried to seduce Joseph? The women said: "Allah (God) forbid! We have not known about any evil concerning him." The official's wife said: "Now the Truth has prevailed! I tried to seduce him; he is someone who is telling the truth.
The King asked [the women]: 'What was the matter with you when you tried to seduce Joseph?' The women said: 'God save us! We did not perceive the least evil on his part.' The Chief Minister's wife said: Now has the truth come to light. It was I who tried to seduce him. He has indeed told the truth.
(The King) said (to the women), “What did Joseph do when you tried to seduce him?”... “Never! By Allah, we did not witness any wrong conduct from him.” The wife of al-Azeez said, “Now the truth has become evident! I tried to seduce him... Indeed, he (Joseph) is of the truthful!”
He(the king)said(to the women): 'What was the matter with you women when you sought to seduce Yusuf from his(pure)self ' They answered: 'Allah Blameless! We know no evil of him. ' The wife of the 'Aziz said: 'Now the truth has become manifest, I(it was who)sought to seduce him from his(pure)self, and verily he is of the truthful ones'.
There and then did the king summon the women and question them. He asked: "What was your purpose and intention when you tried to solicit Yusuf?" They said: "Allah forbid, we have never known him to be morally depraved". The court official's wife, now being brought to her senses said: "Now that the truth transpired, it was I who solicited him and he has indeed been telling the truth."
He (the king) said (to the women), “What was your affair when you sought Yusuf to yield himself (to you)?” They said, “Glory be to Allah above all ! we did not know (find) any evil on his part.” The Aziz’s wife said, “Now the truth is manifest, I sought him to yield himself (to me) and he is certainly of those who are truthful.” said, “Now the truth is manifest, I sought him to yield himself (to me) and he is certainly of those who are truthful.”
(The king) said (to the ladies): "What was your affair when ye did seek to seduce Joseph from his (true) self?" The ladies said: "God preserve us! no evil know we against him!" Said the 'Aziz's wife: "Now is the truth manifest (to all): it was I who sought to seduce him from his (true) self: He is indeed of those who are (ever) true (and virtuous)
He said, "What (was) your affair when you sought to seduce Yusuf from himself?" They said, "Allah forbid! Not we know about him any evil." Said (the) wife (of) Aziz, "Now (is) manifest the truth. I sought to seduce him from himself, and indeed, he (is) surely of the truthful
