| Arabic | | يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ مَا قَالُوا وَلَقَدْ قَالُوا كَلِمَةَ الْكُفْرِ وَكَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِمْ وَهَمُّوا بِمَا لَمْ يَنَالُوا وَمَا نَقَمُوا إِلَّا أَنْ أَغْنَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ فَإِن يَتُوبُوا يَكُ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ وَإِن يَتَوَلَّوْا يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِير |  |

| and planned | wahammū | وَهَمُّوا | ه م م | |

| they were resentful | naqamū | نَقَمُوا | ن ق م | |
| had enriched them | aghnāhumu | أَغْنَاهُمُ | غ ن ى | |
| and His Messenger | warasūluhu | وَرَسُولُهُ | ر س ل | |
| His Bounty. | faḍlihi | فَضْلِهِ | ف ض ل | |
| they repent, | yatūbū | يَتُوبُوا | ت و ب | |
| better | khayran | خَيْرًا | خ ى ر | |
| they turn away, | yatawallaw | يَتَوَلَّوْا | و ل ى | |
| will punish them | yuʿadhib'humu | يُعَذِّبْهُمُ | ع ذ ب | |
| (with) a punishment | ʿadhāban | عَذَابًا | ع ذ ب | |
| painful, | alīman | أَلِيمًا | ا ل م | |
| the world | l-dun'yā | الدُّنْيَا | د ن و | |
| and (in) the Hereafter. | wal-ākhirati | وَالْءَاخِرَةِ | ا خ ر | |
| the earth | l-arḍi | الْأَرْضِ | ا ر ض | |
| protector | waliyyin | وَلِيٍّ | و ل ى | |
| a helper. | naṣīrin | نَصِيرٍ | ن ص ر | |
