| | Abdul Hye rendition of Surah Defrauding, The Defrauders, The Cheats, Cheating(al-Mutaffifin) --- |
---|
83:1 | | Woe to those who give less in measure and weight (defraud), |
83:2 | | those who, when they receive by measure from people, demand full measure, |
83:3 | | but when they give by measure or give by weight to others, they give less than due. |
83:4 | | Don’t they think that they will be resurrected |
83:5 | | on a great Day, |
83:6 | | the Day when all mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? |
83:7 | | Nay! Truly, the record of the deeds of the wicked is (preserved) in prison register (Sijjin), |
83:8 | | and what will make you know what Sijjin is? |
83:9 | | A register inscribed (of hell). |
83:10 | | Woe on that Day to those who deny (disbelievers), |
83:11 | | who deny the Day of recompense! |
83:12 | | None can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, the sinner! |
83:13 | | When Our Verses (of the Qur’an) are recited to them, they say: “Tales of the ancients!” |
83:14 | | Nay! But their sins and evil deeds which they used to earn have caused a covering on their hearts. |
83:15 | | Nay! Surely, on that Day, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from (the vision of) their Lord. |
83:16 | | Then, surely they will indeed burn in the hell, |
83:17 | | and it will be said to them: “This is what you used to deny!” |
83:18 | | Nay! Surely, the record of the righteous deeds is indeed (preserved) in register of exalted ones (Illiyun), |
83:19 | | and what will make you know what Illiyun is? |
83:20 | | A register inscribed (of Paradise), |
83:21 | | bears witness of those who are nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). |
83:22 | | Surely, the righteous will be in delight (Paradise), |
83:23 | | on thrones, looking (at all things), |
83:24 | | you will recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. |
83:25 | | They will be given to drink from pure sealed wine, |
83:26 | | the seal of that wine will be smell of musk. Those who want to strive, let them strive. |
83:27 | | That (wine) will be a mixture of Tasnim, |
83:28 | | a spring where those nearest to Allah will drink. |
83:29 | | Surely! Those who committed crimes (in this world), used to laugh at those who believed, |
83:30 | | and wink one to another (in mockery) whenever they passed by them. |
83:31 | | When they returned to their own people, they would return joking. |
83:32 | | When they saw them (believers), they used to say: “Surely! These people have indeed gone astray,” |
83:33 | | though they (disbelievers) had not been sent over them (believers) as watchers. |
83:34 | | On that Day (the Day of Resurrection) the believers will laugh at the disbelievers, |
83:35 | | as they recline on high couches and look (at then saying): |
83:36 | | “Are not the disbelievers rewarded for what they used to do?” |
