| 82:1 | | When the heaven developed cracks | | 82:2 | | and when the planets slipped hither and thither | | 82:3 | | and when the seas are burst forth (overriding their invisible barriers) | | 82:4 | | and when the graves are exhumed (of their contents) | | 82:5 | | (Afterwards, during Accountability) a Nafs came to know what she has sent forward (as her deeds) and what she left behind (as her traditions at the time she left the world) | | 82:6 | | O you the human! What has made you careless concerning your Most Generous Nourisher-Sustainer — | | 82:7 | | Who created you, then fashioned you in perfection, then He set you in due proportion | | 82:8 | | In whatever form, that He desired, He developed you in shape | | 82:9 | | Nay! Of course, you deny Accountability and Judgment | | 82:10 | | And certainly, over you, (are) indeed (set) guards and protectors | | 82:11 | | Kiraman Katibin (Honourable scribes) | | 82:12 | | They know whatever you do (and they immediately record your deeds) | | 82:13 | | Verily, Al-Abrar (will be) indeed in delights (of Paradise) | | 82:14 | | And verily, Al-Fujjar (will be) indeed in blazing Fire (of Hell) | | 82:15 | | they will reach therein on the Day of Judgment | | 82:16 | | and they (i.e., Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom | | 82:17 | | And what did make you know what the Day of Judgment (is) | | 82:18 | | Once more! What did make you know what the Day of Judgment or Recompense is | | 82:19 | | The Day a Nafs does not own anything to favour or assist or redeem any Nafs. And the matter, that Day is solely with Allah |
