| | Abdul Hye rendition of Surah Exile, Banishment(al-Hashr) --- |
---|
59:1 | | Glorifies Allah whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Allah is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. |
59:2 | | It is He Who drove out those who disbelieve from the people of the Scripture (the Jews of Bani An-Nadheer) from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think that they would ever get out. They thought that their fortresses would defend them from Allah! But Allah’s (punishment) reached them from a place where from they did not expect it, and He cast fear into their hearts, so that they destroyed their own homes with their own hands and by the hands of the believers. So take admonition, O you with eyes (to see). |
59:3 | | And had it not been that Allah had decreed exile for them, He would certainly have punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter they shall have the punishment of the fire. |
59:4 | | That is because they opposed Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad). Whoever opposes Allah, then surely Allah is Severe in punishment. |
59:5 | | Whatever palm-trees (of the enemy) you (O Muslims) cut down or left them standing on their roots, it was by the permission of Allah, so that He might disgrace the transgressors. |
59:6 | | And what Allah gave as booty to His Messenger (Muhammad) from them, you made no expedition for that with either cavalry or riding-camel. But Allah gives power to His Messenger over whoever He wills. And Allah has power over all things. |
59:7 | | Whatever Allah gave as booty to His Messenger (Muhammad) from the people of the townships, it is for Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad), the kindred (relatives of Messenger), the orphans, the poor, and the wayfarer; so that it may not become a fortune between the rich among you. Whatever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it and whatever he forbids you, abstain from it, and fear Allah. Surely, Allah is Severe in punishment. |
59:8 | | (There is share in this booty) for the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their property, and are seeking Bounties from Allah and pleasure (of Him). This is helping Allah (in His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). They are indeed the true believers. |
59:9 | | (Share of booty given to) those who had homes (Ansars in Madinah) and had faith before (the arrival of) them (emigrants) and love those who emigrated to them and they had no jealousy in their hearts for things given (from the booty) to them, and prefer them (emigrants) over themselves, even though they themselves were in need of that. Those who are saved from their enviousness, such are they who will be the successful. |
59:10 | | And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brothers who have preceded us in faith and don’t put any hatred in our hearts against those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of Kindness, Merciful.” |
59:11 | | Have you (O Muhammad) not observed those who were hypocrites? They say to their fellow disbelievers among the people of the Scripture: “If you are expelled, we indeed will go out with you. We will never obey anyone against you. Even if you are attacked, we will indeed help you.” But Allah is witness that surely they are liars. |
59:12 | | Surely, if they (people of the book) are expelled, they (hypocrites) will never go out with them, and if they are attacked, they will never help them. Even if they help them, they (hypocrites) will turn their backs; so they will not be victorious. |
59:13 | | Surely, you (believers) are more fearful in their (Jews of An-Nadir) hearts than of Allah. That is because they are a people who don’t comprehend (power of Allah). |
59:14 | | They will never fight against you together except in fortified townships or from behind walls. Their enmity among themselves is very strong. You think them as united but their hearts are divided. This is because they are a people who don’t understand. |
59:15 | | They are like their immediate predecessors (Jews of Bani Qainuqa); they tasted the evil result of their deeds, for them will be a painful torment. |
59:16 | | They are like Satan who says to human: “Disbelieve.” So when human disbelieves, Satan says: “I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the worlds!” |
59:17 | | So the end of both will be that they will be in the fire, abiding in it forever. That is the recompense of the wrongdoers. |
59:18 | | O you who believe! Fear Allah and let every person look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow (Hereafter), and fear Allah. Surely, Allah is All-Aware of what you do. |
59:19 | | And be not like those who forgot Allah and He caused them to forget their own selves. Those are the transgressors. |
59:20 | | Not equal are the inmates of the fire and the residents of the Paradise. It is the residents of Paradise, they will be successful. |
59:21 | | If We had sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, you would have seen it humbling itself and split asunder from the fear of Allah. Such are the examples which We put forward to mankind so that they may reflect. |
59:22 | | He is Allah, besides Whom there is no one worthy of worship but He, the Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Beneficent, the Merciful. |
59:23 | | He is Allah besides Whom there is no one worthy of worship but He, the King, the Holy, the one free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah above all that they associate as partners with Him. |
59:24 | | He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, and the Bestower of forms. To Him belongs the best names. All that are in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. |
