| Arabic | | وَالَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُوا الدَّارَ وَالْإِيمَانَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِّمَّا أُوتُوا وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُون |  |

| to them, | ilayhim | إِلَيْهِمْ | ا ل ى | |
| they find | yajidūna | يَجِدُونَ | و ج د | |
| their breasts | ṣudūrihim | صُدُورِهِمْ | ص د ر | |
| any want | ḥājatan | حَاجَةً | ح و ج | |
| they were given | ūtū | أُوتُوا | ا ت ى | |
| but prefer | wayu'thirūna | وَيُؤْثِرُونَ | ا ث ر | |
| themselves, | anfusihim | أَنْفُسِهِمْ | ن ف س | |
| even though | walaw | وَلَوْ | ل و | |
| poverty. | khaṣāṣatun | خَصَاصَةٌ | خ ص ص | |
| And whoever | waman | وَمَنْ | م ن | |
| (from) stinginess | shuḥḥa | شُحَّ | ش ح ح | |
| (of) his soul, | nafsihi | نَفْسِهِ | ن ف س | |
| then those | fa-ulāika | فَأُولَئِكَ | ا و ل ا ء | |
| (are) the successful ones. | l-muf'liḥūna | الْمُفْلِحُونَ | ف ل ح | |
