| you left them | | taraktumūhā | | تَرَكْتُمُوهَا | | ت ر ك | |
| standing | | qāimatan | | قَائِمَةً | | ق و م | |
| their roots, | | uṣūlihā | | أُصُولِهَا | | ا ص ل | |
| it (was) by the permission | | fabi-idh'ni | | فَبِإِذْنِ | | ا ذ ن | |
| (of) Allah, | | l-lahi | | اللَّهِ | | ا ل ه | |
| and that He may disgrace | | waliyukh'ziya | | وَلِيُخْزِيَ | | خ ز ى | |
| the defiantly disobedient. | | l-fāsiqīna | | الْفَاسِقِينَ | | ف س ق | |
