| Arabic | | وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَى الرَّسُولِ تَرَىٰ أَعْيُنَهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ مِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الْحَقِّ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِين |  |

| And when | | wa-idhā | | وَإِذَا | | ا ذ ا | |
| they listen | | samiʿū | | سَمِعُوا | | س م ع | |
| has been revealed | | unzila | | أُنْزِلَ | | ن ز ل | |
| the Messenger, | | l-rasūli | | الرَّسُولِ | | ر س ل | |
| their eyes | | aʿyunahum | | أَعْيُنَهُمْ | | ع ى ن | |
| overflowing | | tafīḍu | | تَفِيضُ | | ف ى ض | |
| the tears, | | l-damʿi | | الدَّمْعِ | | د م ع | |
| they recognized | | ʿarafū | | عَرَفُوا | | ع ر ف | |
| the truth. | | l-ḥaqi | | الْحَقِّ | | ح ق ق | |
| They say, | | yaqūlūna | | يَقُولُونَ | | ق و ل | |
| "Our Lord, | | rabbanā | | رَبَّنَا | | ر ب ب | |
| we have believed | | āmannā | | ءَامَنَّا | | ا م ن | |
| so write us | | fa-uk'tub'nā | | فَاكْتُبْنَا | | ك ت ب | |
| the witnesses. | | l-shāhidīna | | الشَّاهِدِينَ | | ش ه د | |
