And recite | wa-ut'lu | وَاتْلُ | ت ل و | |
to them | ʿalayhim | عَلَيْهِمْ | ع ل ى | |
the story | naba-a | نَبَأَ | ن ب ا | |
(of) two sons | ib'nay | ابْنَيْ | ب ن و | |
(of) Adam, | ādama | ءَادَمَ | ا د م | |
in truth, | bil-ḥaqi | بِالْحَقِّ | ح ق ق | |
both offered | qarrabā | قَرَّبَا | ق ر ب | |
a sacrifice, | qur'bānan | قُرْبَانًا | ق ر ب | |
and it was accepted | fatuqubbila | فَتُقُبِّلَ | ق ب ل | |
one of them | aḥadihimā | أَحَدِهِمَا | ا ح د | |
was accepted | yutaqabbal | يُتَقَبَّلْ | ق ب ل | |
the other. | l-ākhari | الْءَاخَرِ | ا خ ر | |
Said (the latter), | qāla | قَالَ | ق و ل | |
"Surely I will kill you." | la-aqtulannaka | لَأَقْتُلَنَّكَ | ق ت ل | |
Said (the former), | qāla | قَالَ | ق و ل | |
"Only | innamā | إِنَّمَا | ا ن ن م ا | |
accepts | yataqabbalu | يَتَقَبَّلُ | ق ب ل | |
the God fearing. | l-mutaqīna | الْمُتَّقِينَ | و ق ى | |
