| Arabic | | ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ اتَّخَذْتُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًا وَغَرَّتْكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يُخْرَجُونَ مِنْهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُسْتَعْتَبُون |  |

| That | | dhālikum | | ذَلِكُمْ | | ذ ل ك | |
| (is) because you | | bi-annakumu | | بِأَنَّكُمُ | | ا ن ن | |
| took | | ittakhadhtum | | اتَّخَذْتُمْ | | ا خ ذ | |
| (the) Verses | | āyāti | | ءَايَاتِ | | ا ى ا | |
| (of) Allah | | l-lahi | | اللَّهِ | | ا ل ه | |
| (in) ridicule | | huzuwan | | هُزُوًا | | ه ز ا | |
| and deceived you | | wagharratkumu | | وَغَرَّتْكُمُ | | غ ر ر | |
| the life | | l-ḥayatu | | الْحَيَوةُ | | ح ى ى | |
| (of) the world." | | l-dun'yā | | الدُّنْيَا | | د ن و | |
| So this Day | | fal-yawma | | فَالْيَوْمَ | | ى و م | |
| they will be brought forth | | yukh'rajūna | | يُخْرَجُونَ | | خ ر ج | |
| will be asked to appease. | | yus'taʿtabūna | | يُسْتَعْتَبُونَ | | ع ت ب | |
