| | Abdul Hye rendition of Surah Smoke, The Evident Smoke(ad-Dukhan) --- |
---|
44:1 | | Ha-Mim. |
44:2 | | By the clear book (the Qur’an). |
44:3 | | Surely We sent it (this Qur’an) down in a blessed night (of Qadr in the month of Ramadan). Surely, We are ever warning (mankind). |
44:4 | | in it (that night) every matter is decided wisely, |
44:5 | | by a command from Us. Surely, We have ever sending (the Messengers), |
44:6 | | (as) Mercy from your Lord. Surely! He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. |
44:7 | | The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you have faith with certainty. |
44:8 | | There is no true one worthy of worship but He. It is He Who gives life and causes death, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. |
44:9 | | Nay! They play in doubt. |
44:10 | | Then you wait for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke, |
44:11 | | covering the people, this will be a painful punishment. |
44:12 | | (People will say): “Our Lord! Remove the punishment from us, really we have become believers!” |
44:13 | | How can there be an admonition (at the time when the punishment has reached) for them when a Messenger explaining things clearly has already come to them |
44:14 | | Yet, they turn away from him (Muhammad) and said: “He (Muhammad) is a madman, taught (by others)!” |
44:15 | | Surely, We shall remove the punishment (famine) for a while. But you will return (to disbelief). |
44:16 | | On the Day We shall seize you with the greatest grasp. Surely, We will take retribution. |
44:17 | | And indeed We tried Pharaoh’s people before them, when a noble Messenger (Moses) came to them, |
44:18 | | saying: “Deliver the servants of Allah (the children of Israel) to me. Surely! I am a Messenger to you worthy of all trust. |
44:19 | | And don’t exalt (yourselves) against Allah. Truly, I have come to you with a clear authority. |
44:20 | | And truly, I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me. |
44:21 | | But if you don’t believe me, then keep away from me and leave me alone.” |
44:22 | | So he (Moses) called upon (when they were aggressive) his Lord (saying) indeed: “These are criminal people.” |
44:23 | | (Allah said): “You depart with My servants by night. Surely, you will be pursued. |
44:24 | | And (when you have crossed the sea with your people), then leave the sea as it is (quiet and divided). Surely, they are a host to be drowned.” |
44:25 | | How many gardens and springs did they (Pharaoh’s people) leave behind, |
44:26 | | and corn-fields and goodly places, |
44:27 | | and comforts (of life) they used to take delight in it! |
44:28 | | Thus We made other people inherit them (the children of Israel inherit the kingdom of Egypt). |
44:29 | | And neither the heavens and the earth did weep for them, nor were they given a respite. |
44:30 | | And indeed We saved the children of Israel from the humiliating punishment |
44:31 | | from Pharaoh. Surely! He was arrogant and was one of the transgressors, |
44:32 | | and surely, We chose them (the children of Israel) above the worlds (during the time of Moses) with knowledge. |
44:33 | | And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. |
44:34 | | Surely, these (people of Quraish) say: |
44:35 | | “There is nothing after our first death and we shall not be resurrected. |
44:36 | | Bring back our forefathers if you speak the truth!” |
44:37 | | Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed criminals. |
44:38 | | And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for merely a play. |
44:39 | | We have not created them but (to reveal) the truth, but most of them don’t know. |
44:40 | | Surely, the Day of judgment is the time appointed for all of them, |
44:41 | | the Day when a near relative cannot avail a relative in anything, nor they can receive help |
44:42 | | except those on whom Allah will show Mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful. |
44:43 | | Surely, the tree of Zaqqum (very bitter taste), |
44:44 | | will be the food of the sinners, |
44:45 | | like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, |
44:46 | | like the boiling of scalding water. |
44:47 | | (It will be said): “Seize and drag him into the midst of blazing fire, |
44:48 | | then pour from the punishment of boiling water over its head, |
44:49 | | taste you (this)! Surely, you were (pretending to be) the mighty, the noble! |
44:50 | | Surely! This is what you used to doubt about it!” |
44:51 | | Surely! The pious will be in place of security (Paradise), |
44:52 | | among gardens and springs; |
44:53 | | dressed in fine silk and also in thick silk, facing each other. |
44:54 | | So (it will be), and We shall marry them to Houris (fair females) with wide lovely eyes. |
44:55 | | They will call in it for every kind of fruit in peace and security; |
44:56 | | they will never taste death in it except the first death (of this world), and He will save them from the punishment of the blazing fire |
44:57 | | as a Bounty from your Lord! That will be the supreme success! |
44:58 | | Certainly, We have made this (Qur’an) easy in your tongue in order that they may remember. |
44:59 | | Wait then (O Muhammad); surely, they too are waiting. |
