| Arabic | | وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُون |  |

| And if | | wala-in | | وَلَئِنْ | | ل ا ن | |
| you ask them, | | sa-altahum | | سَأَلْتَهُمْ | | س ا ل | |
| created | | khalaqa | | خَلَقَ | | خ ل ق | |
| the heavens | | l-samāwāti | | السَّمَاوَاتِ | | س م و | |
| and the earth, | | wal-arḍa | | وَالْأَرْضَ | | ا ر ض | |
| and subjected | | wasakhara | | وَسَخَّرَ | | س خ ر | |
| the sun | | l-shamsa | | الشَّمْسَ | | ش م س | |
| and the moon?" | | wal-qamara | | وَالْقَمَرَ | | ق م ر | |
| Surely they would say | | layaqūlunna | | لَيَقُولُنَّ | | ق و ل | |
| "Allah." | | l-lahu | | اللَّهُ | | ا ل ه | |
| are they deluded? | | yu'fakūna | | يُؤْفَكُونَ | | ا ف ك | |
