| Arabic | | لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا هَلْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُون |  |

| Distracted | | lāhiyatan | | لَاهِيَةً | | ل ه و | |
| their hearts. | | qulūbuhum | | قُلُوبُهُمْ | | ق ل ب | |
| And they conceal | | wa-asarrū | | وَأَسَرُّوا | | س ر ر | |
| the private conversation, | | l-najwā | | النَّجْوَى | | ن ج و | |
| those who | | alladhīna | | الَّذِينَ | | ا ل ل ذ ى | |
| [they] wronged, | | ẓalamū | | ظَلَمُوا | | ظ ل م | |
| a human being | | basharun | | بَشَرٌ | | ب ش ر | |
| like you? | | mith'lukum | | مِثْلُكُمْ | | م ث ل | |
| So would you approach | | afatatūna | | أَفَتَأْتُونَ | | ا ت ى | |
| the magic | | l-siḥ'ra | | السِّحْرَ | | س ح ر | |
| see (it)?" | | tub'ṣirūna | | تُبْصِرُونَ | | ب ص ر | |
