| Arabic | | وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِين |  |

| and [the] hunger | wal-jūʿi | وَالْجُوعِ | ج و ع | |
| and loss | wanaqṣin | وَنَقْصٍ | ن ق ص | |
| [the] wealth | l-amwāli | الْأَمْوَالِ | م و ل | |
| and [the] lives | wal-anfusi | وَالْأَنْفُسِ | ن ف س | |
| and [the] fruits, | wal-thamarāti | وَالثَّمَرَاتِ | ث م ر | |
| but give good news | wabashiri | وَبَشِّرِ | ب ش ر | |
| (to) the patient ones. | l-ṣābirīna | الصَّابِرِينَ | ص ب ر | |
