| Arabic | | فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ قَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ مَسَّنَا وَأَهْلَنَا الضُّرُّ وَجِئْنَا بِبِضَاعَةٍ مُّزْجَاةٍ فَأَوْفِ لَنَا الْكَيْلَ وَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْزِي الْمُتَصَدِّقِين |  |

| the adversity, | l-ḍuru | الضُّرُّ | ض ر ر | |
| and we have come | waji'nā | وَجِئْنَا | ج ى ا | |
| with goods | bibiḍāʿatin | بِبِضَاعَةٍ | ب ض ع | |
| (of) little value, | muz'jātin | مُزْجَاةٍ | ز ج و | |
| but pay (in) full | fa-awfi | فَأَوْفِ | و ف ى | |
| the measure | l-kayla | الْكَيْلَ | ك ى ل | |
| and be charitable | wataṣaddaq | وَتَصَدَّقْ | ص د ق | |
| to us. | ʿalaynā | عَلَيْنَا | ع ل ى | |
