| Arabic | | هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَاءً وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ يُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُون |  |

| and the moon | | wal-qamara | | وَالْقَمَرَ | | ق م ر | |
| a reflected light | | nūran | | نُورًا | | ن و ر | |
| and determined for it | | waqaddarahu | | وَقَدَّرَهُ | | ق د ر | |
| phases, | | manāzila | | مَنَازِلَ | | ن ز ل | |
| that you may know | | litaʿlamū | | لِتَعْلَمُوا | | ع ل م | |
| (the) number | | ʿadada | | عَدَدَ | | ع د د | |
| (of) the years | | l-sinīna | | السِّنِينَ | | س ن و | |
| and the count (of time). | | wal-ḥisāba | | وَالْحِسَابَ | | ح س ب | |
| created | | khalaqa | | خَلَقَ | | خ ل ق | |
| in truth. | | bil-ḥaqi | | بِالْحَقِّ | | ح ق ق | |
| He explains | | yufaṣṣilu | | يُفَصِّلُ | | ف ص ل | |
| the Signs | | l-āyāti | | الْءَايَاتِ | | ا ى ا | |
| for a people | | liqawmin | | لِقَوْمٍ | | ق و م | |
| (who) know. | | yaʿlamūna | | يَعْلَمُونَ | | ع ل م | |
